 Believe it or not, the best knife I have is a Tac-Force TF-578 (a $12 knife) and the only reason I want to replace it is the clip puts the blade down in my pocket and it's not reversible.

The handle was too small for me. The handle (especially the ring) had sharp edges that are not comfortable in my hand. The draw on the sheath is too tight. I have been looking for the perfect EDC for self-defense and have purchased and returned 3 highly rated knives

This knife wasn't for me. Why?

 And you can see were someone had used the sheath it had rub marks below the belt clip wear it would rub against the leg/pant. Even the knife, sheath, manuel paper thing and the baggy with screws in it were not properly in the container.

 You want to keep control of your weapon, holding your weapon with your strong side. And yes now you really. This looks like a karambit, but that's not really what the crab, but this is just really. You really have to use the ring to deploy it from the sheath on this knife, but i found again airsoft and unloaded airsoft right that, instead of having to drop the knife or or fire one-handed, once you get your gun free that because of the ring, you Can get a decent, two-handed, knight and grip on your gun if you have to employ it and if you have multiple attackers, you might want this again, because this can go in all directions

 I will uh say yes with the caveats: uh, i don't know what happened there, but yeah be ready, uh to have nothing else in your pocket and you have to practice with this thing, especially if you're using it with your weak hand. With your non-dominant hand, it takes a while to get that draw stroke, the index knife to find the whole loop. But if you do that yeah, this thing is actually pretty awesome, and with that i will leave you with my admonishment two draw your knives only in just purpose: sheath them only with honor and remember without knives. Life would be dull and pointless

Ka-Bar TDI Pocket Strike: your last ditch defender

 You can use these rivet holes on the sides. You could put some loops on there to mount it vertically on a belt or horizontally on a belt. Retention is still pretty good in that sheath. I did not put the handle scales back on here

 I think I'm going to take this off somewhere up here, above this clip. Just take this sheath So after an embarrassingly long amount of time, I've got the handle into shape. I would have liked to take this down flatter, but I didn't know that this was cut out like this. This hook is pretty short, left it longer and it just wasn't working

 Retention is still pretty good in that sheath. I did not put the handle scales back on here. I think I might try either wrapping this in like athletic tape or wrapping it in some type of cord. And I can always go back and just sort of trim the bumps off this handle scales and put them back on pretty easily

I wasn't a big fan of the KaBar TDI Pocket Strike when I first got it.  The sheath was ridiculous, the handle was uncomfortable, and it was just really disappointing.  So I decided to fix it.  I smoothed to handle out, cut the ring off and made it into a hook, and cut the sheath down into something reasonable that can be mounted in a variety of methods.  It really is a much better knife now.

I ended up cutting and grinding my knife handle down, and cut the sheath down to make something more usable. But, for the money, there are better options.

 The handle has sharp edges all around, and is not shaped for any human hands. The ring is more of an oval shape, too small in the shorter cross section for big fingers, and the sharp edges on the inside of the ring cut painfully.

But by far, the worst thing is the sheath. It is a ridiculously oversized piece of plastic. It will take up your entire pocket, and if you are a smaller person, it might not fit in your pocket at all. There are no other mounting options, no provision for belt carry, nothing

"Tacticool" but otherwise worthless

 Okay, so like I said, I did all the homework on this on October 19th, 2020. It's now October 21st, 2020. So the price on this is current as of October 19th. Like I said, it's not found on Amazon and it's not found on Blade HQ

188 inches, and the handle is a little bit over four. Now it's got a weight to it of 6.4 ounces, so you can think of it as a heavy folding blade that fits in your pocket really, really comfortably. It's got a plain edge, as you can see, with a hollow grind

 Now here's the problem. On the back right here, it says the handle is Zytel. On K-Bar, it basically says it's nylon reinforced scales, or glass reinforced nylon, basically. So if that's Zytel, they at least got it right and made it textured so it's not smooth and slippery

 So I can't really say it's Kydex or anything like that, but it doesn't feel plasticky to me, but I don't know, I've been wrong about some stuff before, so there we go. Now I do like the fact that it came with, well, inside the thing it's a limited lifetime warranty, the little star driver to be able to have a replacement screw, and you can swap this out. I can see some paper flakes and some other stuff on the blade, but okay. And just as we've been doing recently, yeah, like right there needs to be touched up

What can I say? When I saw a Instagram post by Ka-Bar I knew i had to have this little beauty. In my opinion it is a great self defense/last ditch choice. The fact it has Ka-bar's stamp of approval just sealed the deal for me

 So two and a three quarter: twenty quarter, two and a half so almost identical actually to the to the delica, the blade size, but look at the handle size much much smaller. You know the delica is much more comfortable. I think that's why it's so popular, because the handle is just amazing how it fits the hand it might look ugly, but it works. It fits in the hand, i'm not a fan of the metal handles

SanRenMu SRM 710 knife review

For the price, it's hard to beat this knife. It's difficult for me to comfortably flip it open because I have large hands and this is a fairly small knife. I've used it to cut up a metric *load of corrugated boxes--ironically enough, Amazon boxes. It still seems as sharp as new

 I'm not an alchemist, so I have no idea whether or not the steel is what is claimed. But it's not cheap high carbon or stainless steel, or I would have seen a marked decrease in performance during the breakdown of my mountain of Amazon boxes. Worth the price, for a "throw it in the bugout bag" contingency.

  It's a little small for my hands. You see all those pictures next to a ruler? pay attention :) if your hands are above average sized you will likely share my problem.  If I settle the knife in my hands well, i can reliably flick it open. Just grabbing it and trying to open it, I have had several stalls

  It's solid, looks like it will take some heavy wear.  They copied a great design. It looks undeniably nice.  Cons: the people who are saying they just want to try it out to see if the Sebenza feels right before they pay for one, don't bother

 You will end up with a good EDC knife for the price but the feel is very different. Feels like you almost have to shake the blade loose of the handle like you're trying to get the last few drops of water out of a glass before you dry it.  It's a little small for my hands.  It won't have the raw structural strength, ability to sustain abuse, or the ability to keep a freshly whetted and stropped edge through extended work as the original knife; it also costs well over an order of magnitude less, so it's available for people who don't have 500 bones to drop on a pocket knife.  There are two legitimate sides to the argument about whether it's ethical to buy one of these - looking at it in the hand it's plain that it copies the Chris Reeve design - or any similar knife. I won't tell you which is right for you as I find people choose what to care about just fine on their own, without my help, but in this argument it seems to boil down to what you choose to care about more. For my purposes, I'm mostly concerned with one thing -- build quality

 I don't expect this to be a be all end all steel but would at least like to know what I am working with.  2: Make the pocket clip mounting holes ambidextrous. I like to carry tip up. This knife is tip down only so buyers beware if that's a big deal for you  Pretty hefty little folder! Feels solidly built, blade centering is near perfect, solid lockup with no blade play

Solid knife for the money, have a couple suggestions.

 Blade lockup is still fantastic and the steel quality is such that it retains an admirable edge with some effort. For the money, this is one of the best knives I've owned and put it up against the Kershaw Chill for value.

 My only recommendation is to loc-tite the retaining screws as they tend to fall out after a few years. That being said, the frame still holds together even with all of the lockplate screws having fallen out, which is totally wild. Blade lockup is still fantastic and the steel quality is such that it retains an admirable edge with some effort. For the money, this is one of the best knives I've owned and put it up against the Kershaw Chill for value

Solid performer

 I also believe that its comparison to the CRK Sebenza is just barely appropriate for a number of reasons I will touch on. Meanwhile, nobody seems to compare it to the Kershaw Cryo, which in some important ways is a better knife and is only $10 more in price.  First off, the blade: Personally, I LOVE the design of the blade itself. I think the blade shape is actually more useful and attractive than the Sebenza (blasphemy!) and it has excellent jimping

 The Kershaw Cryo is barely more expensive and has real 8Cr13MoV, assisted opening, looks nicer, has better jimping, and has better forward traction if you needed to stab with it. I would basically only recommend this blade for EDC, and even then only if you value size and weight over tactical considerations (as I do). Otherwise, go buy a Kershaw Cryo and feel good about the fact that Kershaw is actually paying their industrial designers.

 The material of the blade, however, is merely ok. I have reasons to doubt the authenticity of the manufacturer's claims of material (8Cr13MoV). The material is soft, wires easily, and doesn't hold an edge in any special way. Perfectly acceptable for the price, but nothing earth-shattering

Excellent quality manufacture, pretty "meh" design and materials.

 If it is a nice knife and comes somewhat dull, I sharpen it, if it is a horrible knife and comes razor sharp initially but doesn't last or other negatives overshadow that, it doesn't seem like a huge positive anymore.  If you like the design, you won't be disappointed with the look or quality, they are both very good for the price. As an edc I think it is a bit on the dainty side, much smaller than I prefer to carry, and in my mind you could make a better case for it based on looks than on it's actual uses or function/structure. I personally don't prefer to carry this knife, and honestly would not buy another one
