 At your size you probably want the 164, which has a 278 mm waist which is WIDE. Speaking from experience with a size 10 foot, the CR's doable but lot of board to move around.

Hello expert snowboarders! 

I need your help. I've been snowboarding the same board for 20+ years (I'm 41 now) and I think it's time to buy a new snowboard. I tried to watch reviews, read articles, etc but holy moly have snowboards become complicated. It's like the reviewers are intentionally using made up words just to confuse me. (Is there a snow-boarding lingo for dummies book?). 

Well, I've managed to narrow it down that I want a **directional carving board** as I don't ride switch and I don't do parks any more. Too many injuries. 

I live in California, I can comfortably ride black diamonds, double blacks are doable just not enjoyed as much. I'm 6' + 200lbs. My current (ancient) board is a Burton Balance. 

I was thinking about the **Korua Shapes Cafe Racer** or the **Bataleon Cruiser**? 

Any help or suggestions are appreciated. I listened to reviews about these and other cruise/carve boards and the nuanced details are just lost on me.

Need help picking a snowboard - I don't understand 95% of what's being said in reviews!

 Definitely better options out there for a beginner that will make learning much more fun and if you're somebody who's a freestyle park rider there's way better boards for just that.  I would put it at the lower end of the freeride spectrum, and you do have a directional flex, meaning softer nose, progressively stiffening back up to the tail. Even though the nose is softer, it's not like drastically softer, it's just a little bit softer. You really only notice that when you push into a chunder and you try to butter with it. And there is a decent amount of torsional flex, which really lets you center flex the board and steer it underfoot

 Same thing with the tail, so just get your weight out over it, expect it to fight you, use a little bit more speed, and you're going to be golden with it. If not, well, you're probably going to die. When it comes to carving with this board, this is where this deck fully shines. It's not nimble edge to edge, it's just consistent

I've swapped to full-time snowboarder about 2013 after mainly skeeing most of my childhood. I bought a K2 WWW in 2014 as my first board and in 2018 bought a Jones twin mountain as the WWW is a softer board and me gaining some experience needed something stiffer for the bigger, faster and harder slopes I was getting in to. I love my K2 for the butteryness and when feeling like a park day but it's time for an upgrade and addition to the family.

Want to discuss current trends? Board shapes, technology? Advice picking outerwear? Need info on traveling to Revelstoke for the first time? Or question about what board you should buy?  This board goes everywhere but it really does its best within the park because it's a true twin style board. The nose and tail are the exact same shape, it has a centered stance, centered side cut radius so when you ride it this way or this way it's going to feel the exact same. But it has something that I really love about freestyle boards, it has a camber profile shape, there's a nice arc to it so the center is actually raised up, it's quicker edge to edge, it has a great amount of ollie pop in the nose and tail but the contact points of the board are actually raised up just slightly so it's a little less catchy in those contact points so when you're landing or you kind of screw up in your landing a little bit you'll be less likely to catch your edge which is great. And then there's the 2x4 inserts, now a lot of people they don't really say that that's a highlight within a board but having 2x4 inserts instead of 4x4 gives the board a lot more stance options and park riders out there seem to be very specific when it comes to their widths of their stance as they should be

And the worldwide weapon, a lot of people think that it's a softer board, it kind of has been in the past but now K2 is kind of like realizing it's like kind of all-mountain abilities while still being a park board and it has a feel and fluctuating for 2019-05 so it's pretty sturdy actually so you can still rip it on groomers and it'll be stable at a lot higher speeds than it used to be in kind of like years past
