 Hello snowboarders of the internet. I'm your host Avron LaFever and in this video, we're gonna review the Jones Mercury snowboard binding for 2020. That's right. It's a Jones binding with now skate tech I wrote these bindings at Copper Mountain after to drop two inches of snow if it was in the Sun It was like heavy and baked but if it was in the shade, it was light and blower

 The heel strap has the one finger release right there That's kind of it. The high back sits a little bit lower, which just means that you're not gonna get as much calf bite in the boot The other thing is that it's actually a really soft high back with their snap and response into it So when you push into it, you can feel that rebound out of it Just kind of helps you when you're driving your board The cool thing with the binding flex on this is that you can adjust it between the bushings and the placement of the heel strap I opted to run it a little bit stiffer So it was a little more free ride folks is to kind of just match it up with my cool bean and my style of riding But if you want to be a little more surfy, you can flip the strap change out the bushings and there you go I'm a big fan of skate tech I think that it really helps drive power from edge to edge with the way the binding rolls from toe to heel it just Drives so much better and the drive in this binding is very smooth It's a very stable binding if you want to be surfy You can set it up that way if you want to be a little more free ride oriented and have more power and precision You can also set it up that way It's not a bad ride at all. So who's this binding for? it's definitely for someone that bounces between being a free rider and someone that wants to be a little more surfy and do Slashy turns and just wants a binding that they can adjust depending on what board they're riding I'm a huge fan of skate tech and I like the fact that this binding is basically two for the price of one You know depending on how you set it up. The Jones Mercury Snowboard Binding Review

 Mercury snowboard binding for 2020. That's right. It's a Jones binding with now skate tech

 I wrote these bindings at Copper Mountain after to drop two inches of snow if it was in the Sun

 The corduroy was a little fast and I wrote this on my k2 cool bean with my k2 thracsis boots

 When it comes to adjustability, you got a couple standard things with this

 You got flip cams on the outside to just shorten or lengthen the straps

 You've got forward lean adjustment in the back. You want to adjust the toe ramp placement. You can push it down pull it up

 That's how it goes. Now when it comes to unique things with this binding for adjustability, you've got the bushings right there

 You can swap them out for soft medium or hard

 That's going to just change how this board feels underfoot whether it dissipates a lot of vibrations or it doesn't it just changes it

 Whether it's gonna be a little more damp or lively underneath your feet

 So and it changes kind of how the power transmission is there

 The other cool thing is you've got the flip straps on there right now

 The mercury is upside down that you can actually swap it with the other one that'll put it around

 That'll determine whether it's gonna be a little more surfy or a little more rigid. The ratchets are smooth

 They work well, they climb well, they release super well

It was a slightly colder day, so the snow had that chalk-like effect off the groomers, and the corduroy was super firm and fast

 You're going to notice that power transmission from toe to heel in it. And if you need to stiffen it up, you can always swap out the bushings if you want to. This is one of those bindings where you can go from the peak to the park all in the same day with it. It's that middle of the road flex that really lets you drive it when you want to or be surfy if you need to

 The high back is that right height where it doesn't cause heel bites, so they're not too high, not too low, just right where you need it. It's got a middle of the road flex, so if you want to get buttery, jibby, surfy, it works. But there's still just enough rebound in them that you can drive with it and not have to worry about pushing aggressively into it. You know, it makes it a well rounded, all-mount binding

 The overall flex of this binding is a round middle of the road. It's a hair stiffer where it needs to be so you can charge with it. You know, it's not going to be one of those slouch bindings where it just feels soggy and dead. The skate tech works
