Jones Hovercraft Snowboard Review

 Hey it's Socky and this is my review of the Jones hovercraft. I'll go through how it turns,

 it's pop, speed and mostly how well it floats in powder. It's probably one of the most

 Jonesy looking boards in the Jones line with the classic wood grain top sheet and a pretty crazy

 looking powder shape. It has the directional rocker profile but the name is a bit confusing

 as most of the board has a regular camber profile. There's a big rocker nose and a little bit of

 rocker in the tail. It has a whole lot of base shaping which means that the nose of the board

 has 7mm of spoon and the tail has 4mm as well as a little speed channel in the middle.

 It has traction tech which is the serrated edges along the side cut of the board

 to give it extra grip on icy snow. It has quite a big side cut radius as well

 which is 9.3m for the 156cm model. I'm riding the 156cm 2020 version with my binding set up

 notice. The short tail is super stiff, you can push back really hard into it and it supports

 you no matter what. I was riding the hovercraft in good conditions for a board like this with

 lots of fresh and light snow that got fairly deep in the trees. I didn't know what to expect from

 the hovercraft with the large amount of spoon in the nose and the tail. I was thinking that it might

 have a slower feel similar to when you're getting used to the feel of a battalion board. Though I

 didn't really notice the feeling of slack before it starts to grip, it felt smooth and easy even on

 packed groomed runs. Once you get onto the edge it grips hard and the stiff tail made it feel like

 it would easily accelerate out of turns. As soon as you got into powder it really showed how good

 it turned. It has a feeling like you are right on top of the snow somehow so even in tight trees

 it never felt like you were forced into making bigger turns than you wanted. You could always

 get the tail around in time. In wider, open powder the surfy feel couldn't really be beaten. The tail

 sinks enough to let the nose cruise through everything and it felt like it took the least

 effort out of any powder board that I've ridden except for maybe the mind expander which comes

 close. You can get plenty of pop out of the hovercraft. The small tail is super stiff and

 pushes back very hard. If you want to get a super laid back turn you can lean all the way back

 and it will still hold everything together. It's a very quick board combined with really good

 float make it easy to get through deep snow and tight trees without feeling like you have to work

 for it at all. It was easy to ride fast through chopped up powder. It has a very stable feel

 no matter what terrain I was riding on. For float it really seemed to take no effort at all.

 After a full day of riding my legs weren't tired like normal. I'd never felt like I was forced to

 lean back at all to keep the nose up and I could ride it like it was a regular board.

 Although it has the shape of a crazy powder board it would still be just as useful for normal

 riding on groomed and packed runs. The edge hold is super good, turns are smooth, edge to edge

 which is probably from the spoon and is quick. If you're looking at buying any new snowboard gear
