America's Test Kitchen

Our favorite aspect of the Jetboil MightyMo stove was its fuel-adjuster knob, which provided nuanced and even heat control, going from low to medium to high heat smoothly. It made delicately scrambling eggs and simmering a pot of grocery-store backpacker Alfredo an easy and refined experience. The built-in piezo igniter was another great feature; to get the stove started, we just opened the fuel-adjuster valve and pressed the igniter. On the downside, we had some difficulty extending and folding the pot supports after multiple uses—the metal seemed to warp slightly and catch on the bottom of the burner. Also, when faced with steady wind, the stove took more than 10 minutes to boil 2 cups of water. The pot supports were also slightly less grippy than those of other stoves, so some cookware slid around. However, Jetboil sells a pot and a skillet separately that promise to solve these issues. We tested both and found that the skillet sat very stably on the stove, and the pot did decrease the time to boil water against wind, boiling in 4 minutes and 33 seconds. This was slightly slower than the Soto model, but not by much. Overall, we recommend buying Jetboil cookware for your Jetboil stove for the best results.

Sure, JetBoil offers some add-ons to make balancing easier, but then weight becomes a factor once more

There are cheaper models, such as the BRS -3000T that weigh much less, around 28 grams, that work just fine, but other factors give the MightMo an edge.  I Don't have any of those. I'm going to use it just like this. They have claims that if you use some of their proprietary stuff on top, it'll boil faster. Not really interested in that either

Okay, you get this little carrying case nice orange, you get a little stand that you can put your propane on and then you get the stove itself. Okay, the first thing we're gonna do is take a look at each of these components and weigh them

 so I imagine it's probably a fairly similar system, but if it works every time that it is definitely something that I think will take it over something like the pocket rocket which as far as I know does not have an integrated piezo with it. You have to get a little separate thing similar to the one I have for my Cove a spider remote canister stove I think the weight is completely acceptable three and a half ounces. You do not need this plastic thing at the bottom if you have a nice level place to set your fuel, but it is nice to have. It is something you can cut weight wise if you want to

 and of course you do not have to carry. Bank So definitely something very ultralight and I think very effective I Do like the idea that it gives you more turns with the control knob and that should theoretically give you a better ability to control simmering. It works well, it's just kind of heavy. Especially when there are $20 dollar ones, much lighter that apparently do the exact same thing. Still, it boils insanely quickly. Like seriously it was less than a minute before two cups of water I was heating got scalding hot

Loved it when it arrived, but the auto igniter broke after the fourth time using it. The spark fails to reach the tip of the coil so now it's a overpriced manual ignition stove. Other than that it would have been a five star rating, this thing can simmer like a champ and turn into a blowtorch to boil water in no time flat. I contacted the seller and they informed me it's a discontinued model and he was not able to help me

Great idea, lightweight, hot stove. But mine is wobbly and unusable due to design flaw.

Love the size and ease to pack when hunting or backpacking. I've had mine for a little over 3 years and I use more often when hunting than I do my Coleman 2-burner camp stove. Sadly this year the igniter stopped lighting so I have to have a lighter or matches handy. Other than that I still use and prefer over my stove, especially when back packing obviously!!

I love the compact nature of this product. I used a different Jetboil product that is an integrated unit that combines the burner with an integrated heating container and I love it. However, I needed to place a pan for cooking on the burner and needed a little more stability than the burner on the integrated unit. This one did the job and it is ridiculously compact and folds up to be even more compact

 So that's a bonus, and just overall this thing is really really cool, so I'm super psyched about the way that this thing has boiled water, how it performs it burns. Hot you've got good simmer action to it and I literally do not have like negative things to say about it: it it's just a top notch, high quality piece of gear that I've been really really happy with. So you do have to turn this on. Quite a few turns so there's an example of that taking a little bit longer, but the other thing that I really like about this is it doesn't burn really loud, so it doesn't have this really high pitch burn to it, but it's a really really nice good

 At this point I purchased this stove. This is the MSR Superfly, with the piezo igniter spend about 70 dollars for this stove, and this is probably one of the most reliable stoves that I have ever owned. However, it it's pretty heavy its bulky and doesn't it doesn't pull down really well, and so I have ultimately stopped using this stove and I started looking at more light weight. / ultralight options like this oli camp ion micro, which is going to be very similar to like the BRS, titanium stove that is very popular in common on Amazon and then the as well as the olie camp, kinetic, which I did do kind of a comparison of All of these different stoves that I own and I'll link that up here, but there's there's something about the way that all three of these, particularly as well as this GSI pinnacle Four Seasons

 Stove have led me to want to purchase this. So let's go ahead and talk about why I purchase the Soto and what has been so awesome about its performance, because there's features about this stove that make it stand out from a lot of the other stoves that are available out on the market. So there's one attribute to this so de Winne master stove. That has allowed this to outperform these other canister stoves that I have owned, and it is right here at the base of the stove

 Next to the height of the burner, that's something that I really really enjoy about. This stove is the space between the burner and the bottom of the pot allows for it to basically be its own type of windscreen in that concave shape, which and other Soto stoves. Like that, amicus do have that concave shape as well. That'S kind of like a signature thing that I feel like makes a really big difference in the overall performance of this stove

Soto WindMaster Stove Review | Is This The Best Canister Stove?

 Let'S break this stove down fold the legs around the base, depending on your pot size. This can fit in along with your gas. Canister, however, doesn't fit in the mai tai 650 mug. So if I take this combination and the bhavantu just put the gas in here with a rag or two and the wind master - goes in its bag and goes in one of the pockets in my wok

 You want to use a frying pan there we go. Oh, if you take that off, so you put your pot on locate it in there. Pan knock up a steak. Something like that, if I want to so with the other two stones, you're going to need to come up with a pot combination as well

 This is not the greatest over winning these views in the wind, but that can easily be combatted by getting a cheap windshield to give it some protection from the elements very efficient on fuel, it's lightweight and it compacts really small and the cheapest I've found it is 29 pounds and that's delivered so for me that makes this the best value of all the stoves. Obviously there are a lot of other gas stoves out there that could perform equally or better than the three that I've shown you today. But these are the three that I use and I often get asked questions on which one is the best. So before I did this experiment, I would have put the stoves in order minimo, wind master and then their MSR pocket rocket in last place

 So it was using twice as much fuel as the Jetboil. It'S a joint first place. You have the Jetboil and the MSR pocket rocky bow for the scored 15 points, the Jetboil scored really well for boil times fuel efficiency and for simran. However, it's a very bulky bit of kit and it's twice as expensive as as the pocket rocket, and that is what considering the price of a 20-pound pot to go with this

Camp Stove Battle - Which stove is best? - MSR Pocket Rocket 2 v Jetboil Minimo v Soto Windmaster

I would skip the JetBoil and get a Soto Windmaster or a Fire Maple Blade 2. Jetboils are heavy and not that much better than a lightweight stove and a titanium pot. The minimo in particular doesn't even have any real advantages for wind resistance and still weighs significantly more than many other stoves and pots.
