 I This gives you a really comprehensive guide for setting it up on their website, gives you a good starting point and so they can get the most out of this really sophisticated suspension. And it's paired with, you know DW link it pedals so well pills just like the regular ritmo. I Mean you get on this thing. It's got the hover bike effect like you're just sitting in the saddle spinning

 Tom The traction just a really balanced feel. I mean doesn't feel like a cheap bike, you know? We we tested bikes three times the price of this. didn't we? Yeah, absolutely time. Something isn't that hard to believe when you think about house with this bike is Mm-hmm there's bikes three times the price here and those bikes are definitely not three times better than this one

 you know they can't take a matchmaker clamp, which means that you're a little limited in terms of your cockpit setup. and then the dropper post on this bike comes with sort of like the old style like top of the bar push with your push down with your thumb type lever which was a little antiquated feeling. but you just can't complain at this price given what you're getting. Mm-hmm yeah and you know I look at not just new riders, but but younger riders

 just young shredders that just needs something that's just up for a beating. Yeah. Also well as we know there are people out there that have a little carbon anxiety, right? Well here's your bike yeah or or the $4,000 SLX belt which is really really good. He comes with a bike yoke for Vibe Dropper and dialed yeah, a standout for me in the whole test

Ibis Ripmo AF Review - 2020 Bible of Bike Tests

 I've got to give it to Ibis for really putting a new perspective on what we can expect from this category. All right. So who is this bike for? Well, it's an incredibly versatile trail bike that's just his home on long, epic rides in the mountains. As it is on a short local lunch lap, I have no hesitation at all taking it to the bike park

 It's a different world these days, and the building wave of bike innovations seems to continuously swell with no crest in sight. But the latest and greatest isn't what defines our enjoyment. And you know what? I'll be the first to admit, I sometimes get a little too lost in the luster of those new shiny parts. So when my buddy Sean at N Plus One Bikes asked if I'd be interested in reviewing the Ibis Ritmo Af, a sensibly priced aluminum frame trail bike that's been wildly praised for the last couple of years, I actually saw this as an opportunity to see just how things have trickled down to the very core of it all

 Still fun to ride. It's not just a great bike for someone coming into the sport, it's a bike that even a seasoned rider can have a total blast riding. It's modern, progressive geometry, can tackle all sorts of terrain and handle very aggressive riding, but it's also not so long in slack that you'll be penalized for approaching this bike with more relaxed attitude. The Dw link suspension design is known for its well-balanced feel and great climbing efficiency, but still sits in that sweet spot of offering calm and controlled performance on the descents

 It's modern, progressive geometry, can tackle all sorts of terrain and handle very aggressive riding, but it's also not so long in slack that you'll be penalized for approaching this bike with more relaxed attitude. Is the Ibis Ripmo AF still the best value in 2022?

Geometry and suspension are where the money should go, so I applaud Ibis for focusing on that with the Ripmo AF. All the Deore reviews say it works as well as the more expensive Shimano stuff, so it’s really just weight, which shouldn’t matter much for a bike in this category. A top end drive train might save you a pound or so—who cares? And the 4-piston Deore brakes should be great too, no big loss there.

The Ibis has a very good suspension platform and suspension components, although the other components (drivetrain/brakes) are worse than similarly-priced direct to consumer brands. Would you consider the better suspension package worth the trade-off on drivetrain/brakes? What are your overall opinions on the Ripmo?

Opinions on the Ibis Ripmo AF Deore?

Currently my Ripmo AF sits at 39lbs for bike park. Usually around 36 for pedaling season but I am 5'9" 140lbs with a fused ankle and skinny lets due to a motorcycle 10 years ago left me with a limp and a lot of pain so exercising mass/power into my legs is near impossible. I have the endurance but the power just isn't there. I'm ready to upgrade to something lighter and all around better

The Rocky Mountain Growler craves high speeds and rowdy terrain. This hardtail has super-aggressive geometry that is typically found on squishy enduro race bikes. This long bicycle is insanely stable at high speeds and has the angles to feel exceptionally confident on steeper terrain. The Growler responds well to an aggressive pilot and, despite its length, likes to boost off rolls and bumps in the trail. The build kit was highlighted by some meaty 2.6-inch WTB tires that have a hard-charging attitude to match the Growler's outlook on life. Climbing up mellow and buff climbs was surprisingly pleasant, thanks to a steep seat tube angle that puts you right on top of the cranks. If you are the kind of rider who enjoys getting rad and going fast, this is a great bike. 
The Growler does have some noticeable shortcomings. We found technical climbing to be less than ideal, despite the impressive ability to climb mellow grades. The combination of the long wheelbase and super-slack front end makes it more difficult to handle in tight spaces, resulting in a slightly awkward feeling. Even on the descent, tight corners and awkward maneuvers can be more stressful than hitting the downslope on a shorter, steeper bike. Additionally, the build kit was a bit of a mixed bag. The Rocky Mountain Toonie dropper post failed on us but was replaced quickly under warranty. Also, the brakes are slightly too weak for how hard this bike wants to charge. Aside from that, there was little not to like about this hard-charging hardtail.

 Who knows. Anyway, Rocky Mountain, you've done it. This is an incredible bike. This is my number one recommendation for the price and for people getting into the sport that focus on the downs more than the Ups and that Growler 20 at under a thousand dollars

 No problems with that because they're going to have longer legs in me and be able to get back behind that rear axle better. Wow, we're here already. All right, let's take it down. some black diamonds though

 Yeah, you can. Uh, you can feel the stiffness of the frame, but it's not. It's like the Orbea a little bit stiffer than the specialized fused 20 20. Wow, I'm able to muscle this up some tricky stuff

Rocky Mountain Growler 40 Review: An Aggressive Enduro Hardtail Bike That Doesn't Break The Bank

 I wasn't like blown away by its climbing abilities, but I also wasn't gasping for air once I got to the top. This bike is clearly more designed for descending and one of the first places I took this bike to was Spider Mountain. Nitpicky stuff. I would like to run a longer dropper post to bring that saddle down even more, but again, it's not a necessary upgrade

 Seven out of ten that gives the Growler a score of 52 out of 100, which actually ties it for first place against the Scott Spark Rc. When compared against other hardtails on the list, the Growler ranks the best. The Ns was held back by a 32 millimeter stanchion fork and 36 pound weight. And while the San Quentin one is a great bike, it is also seven hundred dollars cheaper than the Growler, so it kind of makes sense

Rocky Mountain Growler 40 Review - A Sub $2,000 Ripper!

 What's the good stuff? - Yeah. If You're looking for a capable hardtail that's not going to hold you back, it's obviously this bike. This is the most capable hardtail of the bunch, and in a lot of ways, it's more capable than some of the full suspension bikes we have here. So There you go

 If you're out of the saddle and peddling hard. You might want to firm it up. The Other thing to mention: it has a functional rebound dial which is more than I can say for some of these forks that you have here on tests. It works well

 That's an expensive upgrade, but you definitely need to swap pads and rotors. Put Some metallic pads and better rotors on there, and maybe even bigger rotors, especially if you're a bigger rider or your terrain is steep, you're definitely going to want that. - Yeah You're sending it harder on the Rocky right? - Well I Guess, yeah. - Time For the pros and cons
