Hi everyone, my name, is Mark Kwok and we're gon na talk about some of my very favorite things today. We'Re gon na talk first about the Hari o v60. This is a coffee, dripper, also a coffee maker. I guess - and it's quite simple this is this - is it has some ribbed sort of edgings in the middle, and this is what makes you delicious coffee for not very expensive

 Then you do want to do what's called a bloom, pour the water into this into the coffee kind of slowly and and make sure that all the grounds are kind of wet and after you've done that, just let it sit and let it sit for maybe 30 Seconds or so this is supposed to be able to kind of make the best reaction for the coffee to come. Then just keep pouring just keep pouring little by little and make sure that um. You know this whole process should last you maybe about two to three minutes. It'S not gon na, be that long

 There will be plenty more stuff on coffee as well, but I like a lot of things out here, whatever it is, I'm here to kind of share with you, my favorite things. So again, I'm mark Kwok and thanks for listening, 

 Mine goes, I think, to 208. I just take it off at the kettle at that point. Boiling is what 212, so maybe a little bit cooled off from bowl a boiling ii put the coffee filter in and pour the hot water onto here. They say that this filter has some level of taste in it, go ahead and drain it first and then toss that water

HARIO V60 - Simple = Best?

 I thought a lot of people out. There will have been seeing this advert on Facebook themselves and I wanted to know whether this is any good. So you can hear that slowly dripping through now we'll see how much coffee we've got in the bottom now. So we need another half a cup yet so just do the same again, as I say just pour it very slowly around let that pour through McGann the company

 As I said it on. I can't very funny for that. Any of that, but I'll have to trust them on that one, and then you will or do a little bit of research into the company, see if there's any anything online about that and and when I say I haven't tried the coffee. I have tried it, but only in the Nespresso capsule form, which again I said that we posted a video on that when I tried the coffee and it was quite nice, I think Joey and what I had was the Brazil won and - and it was a little Bit more subtle than I expected it to be, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, because I could taste it wasn't just too bitter their business didn't overpower it

How to Use Hario V60 Coffee Dripper Kit and Pact Coffee Review

 I ran vinegar water through it several times, but the smell was as strong as ever. Got me to thinking about whether or not I REALLY wanted to use this plastic product for consumption..

 The other thing I found is that I wanted to just sit, sip,and appreciate it. I use a coffee that is roasted here in town. It is more expensive than the canned at the store, but it is a lot more satisfying. So

. and your coffee is ready. I was blown away by the freshness and purity of taste. I am a one cup of coffee a day gal, but as I was running my errands in the morning, all I could think of was just how delicious that cup of coffee was and the first thing I did when I got home was make another cup

This gave me better control over the pour

 Wow. The need for sugar with other methods (especially the machine) suddenly was not necessary here. The coffee was rich -- like a cup of frothy hot cocoa if I can compare. None of the sour / bitter / acid (?) taste which led me to add sugar was present using the Hario and the method

  At around $7 for 100 filters, that comes to what - 7 cents per cup of coffee? For the convenience, the ability to have the richness and flavor that good coffee can provide, this $15 dripper is a no-lose investment. I chose the ceramic, which is beautiful to look at, very easy to clean, and leaves none of that "tinny" taste you may get with metal or that unpleasant smell / taste that is usually found from plastic. This is a winner.

 I opted for the Hario filters and made my first cup of coffee with it - the same coffee I have used in the Cuisinart, the french press and now the Hario.  Wow. I'm not a total coffee snob using the typical coffee adjectives. But my taste buds immediately could understand the tremendous difference in what the SAME coffee can taste like using different methods and a good filter

Changed my attitude and enjoyment of coffee significantly - and I tried several methods

 First off, start with whole beans, and grind them to the proper fineness/coarseness (this takes some trial and error until you get it right for your tastes). In general, the grind should be medium to medium-fine.  Edit: For those that prefer a slower extraction - you can always grind the beans more finely - that will slow the extraction, as finer grounds "clog" the filter. But, as always, any adjustment to temperature, speed, grind will result in a different flavor

 I also didn't like the plastic flavor that it imparted. I also tend to avoid using plastic with hot beverages. Then I replaced it with another dripper with a flattened bottom, with three small holes in the bottom, this time made of ceramic. No plastic flavor anymore, but also no improvement in quality

Best of the Coffee Drippers

 I like this because I can get a nice, hot cup whereas with machines (uhm, hello Keurig) the temperature is not optimal even on the hottest setting, especially if you want to use cream. Pour overs in general are not the most convenient option and a tad of prep is needed but it’s worth it.

 Did lots of research on Amazon, looking at reviews, and decided to take the plunge. The price was reasonable, and I was intrigued by the design. I have used it to make my coffee each of the last two mornings, and all I can say is "Wow!!" The flavor is rich and full in comparison to the coffee I was getting from my Aeropress. Perhaps it was due to the failing vacuum seal that was diminishing the flavor extraction from the aeropress, but after doing some more research, it seems that the aeropress is know in "serious" coffee circles for being able to make bad coffee taste good

 I think that is where I am seeing the difference between the Aeropress and this. This is a finicky coffee maker. But, it is completely within the realm of the average person, if you are willing to commit a bit more to the process than slamming a K-cup into a machine, and pushing a button. It requires attention to the timing, pace, and manner in which you pour the water over the grounds

 So I buy decent coffee. And, I was stunned at the dramatic improvement in the flavor of my coffee. One of the reviews of various drip coffee makers I read hit the nail on the head when she described a friend complaining about how when she buys coffee to make at home from her coffee shop, it never tastes as good as the cup she buys there. It is a difference in equipment, training, and tools

That literally fits in your pocket, and i guess designed for sort of camping scenarios or when you want to brew coffee on the road and you don't have to take a whole lot of gear with you. So it's pretty light. It comes in this little pouch and it's quite a clever design

 You'Ve got three little panels here, made of a powder coated, stainless steel, and you can also fit in a folded filter paper in the case rather than a collapsible brewer or something that's already assembled. You just have to slot it together to make the brewing cone that will hold your filter paper. What'S quite nice with the origami is you've got these little grooves on the bottom. So if you're brewing on a slightly unleveled surface, it's not going to slide off thanks to the little design feature of these grooves

 So it's pretty light. It comes in this little pouch and it's quite a clever design. Durable and folds into a small package, but sort of ridiculously heavy for camping. Nice that it isn't some toxic plastic, but seems it could be thinner metal. Certainly not something you'd add to your backpacking gear.

 We also want to make sure that we don't pour too high up on the sides of the filter, because you can cause some some structural weakness there during the brew. We'Re gon na try to keep our water level below the top of this brewer, not up to the top of the filter, because it's really easy for this to fall over and then your slurry dumps everywhere. So, let's dump our rinse water, i'm gon na. Add our 20 grams of medium, coarse, ground, coffee and a big tip that i like to give here for this brewery is to create a small divot at the center of the grounds

 Let'S talk a little bit more about the characteristics of this brewer. The porigami was designed to be a really great brewer on the go, and it does it very very well. This thing kicks ass, one of the biggest things is just how durable it is whenever i'm traveling and i decide to bring coffee beer with me, i'm really worried about breaking it because most of it is either made of glass or ceramic very delicate materials. This is not at all an issue with the porigano
