At around $7 for 100 filters, that comes to what - 7 cents per cup of coffee? For the convenience, the ability to have the richness and flavor that good coffee can provide, this $15 dripper is a no-lose investment. I chose the ceramic, which is beautiful to look at, very easy to clean, and leaves none of that "tinny" taste you may get with metal or that unpleasant smell / taste that is usually found from plastic. This is a winner.

Looks like cheap metal and coatings are the culprit, leaving me to wonder about replacing this $50+ drip kettle. I still love Hario, but take my advice and don't let your love burn too hot.

I like this because I can get a nice, hot cup whereas with machines (uhm, hello Keurig) the temperature is not optimal even on the hottest setting, especially if you want to use cream. Pour overs in general are not the most convenient option and a tad of prep is needed but it’s worth it.

Very nice Kettle, appears to be well-made, and the pouring control is the star of the show here. The pour-over coffee lovers will be hard-pressed to find a better spout, and I would have never believed there would be a difference in the taste between pouring water over the top of the grounds in the Chemex versus a slow, sustained and gentle pour-over, but there is.
