Hamilton Beach 6-slice 31411 vs Oster Designed for Life TSSTTVDFL2 6-Slice

As far as it functioning as an oven, it's great. It appears to heat things much more evenly/thoroughly than our last one.

In fact, the temperature seems to stay constant when cooking compared to the old one I had. I miss that the old one turned the light off once it was preheated. This one seems to keep the temperature constant and the light is on the entire time while cooking. It does get hot if you touch the stainless steel parts, but that’s to be expected and I wouldn’t trade it for an all black one as I like how it looks

And the outside is easy to clean. The parts and features are to my liking. I like having a crumb tray to catch crumbs of course but also any small spills or oozing from cooked food. The all purpose broiler pan is a must

2. Good space on top of oven (I use this for keeping plates warm, heated food warm, so the toaster ovens with minimum space on top don't work well for me).

I can fit a 6 cup muffin pan in the oven, and have since started a diet which portions out many meals by cooking single servings in muffin cups. Yes other people have complained about the timer making a ticking bomb noise while it is cooking, but my old one did that too so it doesn't bother me. However this unit also has an "on" spot you can choose, so you could turn it to that and use your own timer without the ticking noise. I personally would rather use the ticking timer because it will shut off the oven when the timer goes off

This oven is perfect for 8 x 8 pan . Some people are having trouble with toast but I did not. Turn your knob timer past 20 until your element lites up then turn back to about 2 or 3 minutes watch it closely this oven gets hot quickly I would definitely purchase this item again next time around

Attractive and functional, this 6 slice toaster oven is a welcome addition to my kitchen. The stainless exterior blends in perfectly with my stainless appliances. The oven interior is roomy, and has 3 adjustable rack positions. A baking pan and easy to understand user manual is included

The look of this is very sleek, and nice. It goes well on our countertop. It is still fairly new, but seems to work well. I think there have been a few goes that I underestimated the power, though

I doubt most people have a large round pan like mine and I can not find a 10 x 8 higher sided pan anywhere. Also, unfortunate, my 10 x 8 grill which would go into a bake pan like the one they provide doesn't quite fit. Just 1 inch more would have earned this a 5 star.

Obviously one cannot fit 1 12 in. anything in it and it comes with 1 rack and 1 small broiler pan and a crumb tray. 9 in. by 13 in pan will not fit

I guess you get what you pay for and next time I will pay more. I have not had a toaster oven in years and have been using a pop up toaster. But this unit is almost the same as the one I used twenty years ago. That's not a complement

I guess we will see. Lastly, I went to Target directly. This unit was on sale, but out of stock in the whole metro area. Unfortunately their website did not support the sale price

I gave this toaster oven five stars because it is very good for the price. However, if you are willing to spend an additional $50 - $100, you can purchase a higher quality, better designed product. --- I am mostlyhappy with this Hamilton Beach 31411. But I would vastly prefer the absence of the bulging back, designed to accommodate a 12" pizza (which I could live without)

It seems to be increasingly difficult to find a decently-priced Oster toaster oven now that the market has shifted to the air-fry $120-plus models. This one here does everything you need but it likely won't fit that small casserole/ lasagna Pyrex dish that you're used to using. Also, to save on shipping apparently, this is an open-box item that gets repacked and repackaged. Workers at the fulfillment center would do well to where gloves when handling as plenty of odd fingerprints were apparent all over the toaster oven

The Material used in the construction is durable and made of good durable steel and aluminum. It is light weight and easy to carry where ever you feel to take your oven for cooking.

Best to use Parchment Paper instead of foil on the pan that comes with it as foil increases the temperature. I like the 60 min timer which is longer than others. The large knobs and readable words are helpful for this older gal. Overall I am happy with it and will update again later after using it for awhile

Allows me to preheat it for pizza and other baking. Liking it so far. I use the timer on my microwave for baking.

I can see myself using this for many items that don't do so well in the microwave but the main reason I wanted one was for baking biscuits which it does beautifully. It looks nice on the counter and doesn't take up too much space which is a plus. I can't speak about the longevity factor of this one but I can tell you that after a great deal of reading reviews of other models and brands that NONE of them are perfect. Even the high end models seem to have plenty of premature failures
