  I've used it a couple of times so far and it has really made some great pies. The one thing I would say is that it might take some practice for me to perfect the temperature/pellet management. Since the oven needs to be fired for a while to get the stone hot, it is necessary to add pellets as they burn down. If you let them burn down too much and add too many at once, you can cause the temp to dip

The main pros of the oven is the size, the cons that you have to have really strong skills to bake a pizza.I messed up my first 10 pizzas and wanted to throw this oven in a garbage can and forget about this. Then, I decided to try one more time after watching tons of manuals and reading recipes and after that, finally I got a perfect pizza so I'll save some time and tell how to do pizza correctly. I got the koda 12 recently and it’s great. The 12 is a nice size, 16 is good, but will you be making bigger than a 12” pizza?

Looking to buy my first Ooni - what should I know?

Very nice. I suggest having the flame on low once you reach adequate temperature on the stone to reduce burning. This is an excellent first attempt. I’ve got loads of tips on my YouTube channel TRWPizza about cooking on the Ooni Koda

First two attempts in my new Koda 12!

I mostly make NY style now, which are worlds easier with 4-6 minutes instead of a 60-90 second Neo where 15 seconds can be the difference between a nice crust and one that's burnt to a crisp. I personally like NY style better anyway lol.

Also, if you're cooking at max temp make sure the flour you're using isn't malted and isn't enriched.  Contrary to what people will tell you, you don't have to use 00, but if you use AP and cook at 800f+ you gotta find the unmalted stuff or you'll never not burn the shit out of your pizza.

My only comment against it is that if you are travelling with it a lot it is a bit heavy. Might want to go for the Koda 12 for the portability, but otherwise it really is a wonderful oven and does indeed travel well.

So I'm looking at the koda 16, I will be taking it with me when I travel it so weight is important. What do you guys love abou tit, hate about it, want to improve it and and hacks out there for making it fit your philosophy of use best.

Talk me out of a koda 16!

I can see my patio gas bottle lasting a fair while with my koda 12, I have the small/medium dumpy bottle with the red handles.

I'm planning on getting a Koda real soon, I'm just curious what my propane situation should look like, between this and my grill.

How much gas does the Ooni use?

 Temp's were everywhere from 470f to 750f (I kept adjusting the knob) I kept the door closed for 2 minutes before I opened it to turn, then about a minute I opened and turned again. And 1 minute opened and turned and took out a few seconds later. Hadn't used the Ooni turning peel before this, but it worked beautifully. 

  The size difference between the 2 ovens's really something else.  Yet it still fits perfectly on my large Ooni prep table. Size aside, build quality wise this thing is leagues above the Koda \`12, which was in no way a cheap feeling oven. This sucker is just beautiful and feels solid like a tank

 Talk about folks turning their heads when they walked by my camp while I was busy spinning pizzas in the oven. I agree what some others have said, take the time to make your dough the right way. Lastly, my oven arrived with a broken stone in it also. Ooni’s customer service was awesome! They had a pizza stone coming my way the very next day

Great Pizza at a good price and some work

 This one was returned since it was so hard to light, hopefully it is the rare defect. But compared to other items I've bought in the last few years, it's overpriced for what you get. The build quality is good, everything fit and finished well, but it's made in China, so I think for 299.00, it's overpriced

I thought it was over priced.
