We don't have too many complaints about this chef knife, but we will note that the handle was a bit small for our larger-handed testers. This made it difficult to obtain significant amounts of leverage while trying to cut through tough squashes. So if you have like any grease or oil on your hand, this prevents the knife from slipping from your fingers

 It'S not gon na drop on the floor and probably cause an accident and inside this handle they contain sand sand that you see from ocean like seashore. What it does is that it balances the blade and the handle. So if you put your finger in between then there you go it balances itself. It'S very well balanced and what's good about global knife is that this is perfect for cooks or chefs with smaller hands who find blue stuff or a shinned too big for their hands

 And the reason they do that is to really control the weight and make a very, very light sort of knife. And that's one of the things globals are very known for is having a light and nimble knife.  You're going to use it to do pretty much everything that you would want to do in the kitchen.

 And it's going to be most likely your most commonly used knife.

 With that said, the G2 is like all the other Globals, it's a very, very high end knife.

 It works very, very well and it has this very unique design that stands out from across

 So I want to talk a little bit more about the actual Global and give you guys more information

 Off the bat, Globals are essentially one of the original modern Japanese knives, the type

 of knives that moved things away from the German style knives and made the German companies

 This knife is made of Cromova 18, which is a relatively soft steel.

 On the one hand, compared to a Shun that has a 61 hardness, this is going to dull a little

 bit quicker and it's going to need honing more often.

 But on the other hand, it can also take much more abuse because it is a softer steel.

 The knife's angle is 15 degrees, which is very, very sharp.

 And the interesting thing to note is that it's actually ground down from about a centimeter

 above the cutting edge, giving it this little convex finish, which not only looks cool,

 but also makes the knife a little bit sharper.

 Aside from that, the second thing that I want to note is that these knives with their very

 unique design actually don't have a full tang.

 The handle is made separately and it's actually hollow.

 They fill it with sand and they weld the two together.

 And the reason they do that is to really control the weight and make a very, very light sort

 And that's one of the things globals are very known for is having a light and nimble knife.

 And it really makes it less tiring to work with, especially if you're going to cook a

 - Have metal that can be sharpened to the point where it shaves arm-hair. - Retain its edge assuming regular knife-steel use. - Not stain (only applies to stainless steel knives)  The Global G-2 easily exceeds these standards. It's a 'good' knife

 I have actually grown to prefer the weight of the G-2. After a TON of vegetable chopping, the light weight of the G-2 is a godsend.  The steel is not obnoxiously hard (HRC) unlike some other japanese knives, so any decent steel will do wonders on it.  In conclusion, this is hands down the best general Chef's knife I have ever owned

 They use the stamping technique in order to make the knife much lighter. There's a forged version (the GF-33) but it's heavier and has a solid handle. I have actually grown to prefer the weight of the G-2. After a TON of vegetable chopping, the light weight of the G-2 is a godsend

 I tested it out on a tomato eagerly and it fell through it like falling through air. You cannot feel any friction whatsoever as the knife goes through the food. This knife is well worth the money, and really for a knife of such quality, its not that expensive.

 It is lightweight and all one full piece of steel, which means all food can be washed from it without sticking in any cracks or seams, as well as rigid durability. The steel its made of, apparently "Cromova 15", shines in my eyes like the first time I got it every time it is washed, and repels water, so the juices from various foods drip away to help prevent slices of food sticking to the side of the blade.

 I left mine at work for about 4 days whilst I was gone, and the head chef (who readily agrees it is the sharpest knife in the kitchen) used it heavily, disregarding his wuhstof collection. I came back and he had not honed the edge, so it had deteriorated well beyond repair to its original condition. Make sure you keep it sharp and treat it like family, and this knife will treat you better than any knife I have used, and I own Shun, Whustof, Henckels 5-star, Sabatier, and other various brands. I am sold on global

I discovered this product while reading by Anthony Bourdain (RIP, Mr.). Nice but not bulky grip, and light. The size is very practical, so best for everyday use
