If you want something cheaper, check out the Gigabyte M28U instead. It's nearly identical to the Gigabyte M32U, but the larger screen results in slightly sharper text and clearer images. It's an excellent gaming monitor with two HDMI 2.1 ports for next-gen console gaming, and it has an outstanding response time, resulting in crystal-clear motion with almost no noticeable blur behind fast-moving objects. It has a great selection of additional gaming features, including a backlight strobing feature, commonly known as black frame insertion, and support for FreeSync variable refresh rate technology.

Overall, the M32U is the better choice for most people, as it has a larger screen and slightly better motion handling, especially at 60Hz. However, if you're looking for something cheaper, the M28U is almost as good.

The Gigabyte M28U is the best 144Hz console gaming monitor we've tested. It's an excellent gaming monitor, with an excellent response time at the max refresh rate and when gaming at 120Hz, resulting in crystal-clear motion with almost no blur behind fast-moving objects. It also has exceptionally low input lag, ensuring your actions remain in sync with what you see on the screen.

One of the main features of this monitor is that it supports HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on both of its HDMI ports. This allows it to take full advantage of the Xbox Series X and PS5 consoles. It's also one of the relatively few monitors that support the PS5's variable refresh rate feature. While it doesn't deliver the same perfect black levels as the Dell Alienware AW3423DW, it still delivers sharp images thanks to its 4k resolution, and its 28-inch screen is big enough for multitasking. It offers an impressive combination of features for both gamers and office users. It has a USB hub that features three USB-A ports and a USB-C port, and it has a KVM switch that lets you control two devices with the same keyboard and mouse, which is great for productivity.

It has fantastic accuracy before calibration, meaning you won't have to get it calibrated if your work requires accurate colors. It also gets bright enough to fight glare in a well-lit room, and the reflection handling is good. Even if you want to use it for gaming, it has a high refresh rate, variable refresh rate (VRR) support, and while it doesn't have the same motion handling as the Dell, it still looks great. If you want something even larger, it's also available in a 32-inch size, known as the Gigabyte M32U, but it doesn't get as bright.

If you find that the 32-inch screen size of the Gigabyte M32U is too big or you want something cheaper, look into the Gigabyte M28U. It's essentially a smaller version of the M32U with a less ergonomic stand, and there are some minor differences in performance too. While the M32U has a quicker response time, the M28U gets brighter, so it's better to use in well-lit rooms and has better reflection handling. It has many of the same gaming features with HDMI 2.1 bandwidth that lets you play 4k games up to 120 fps, and even if it doesn't support the full 48 Gbps bandwidth of HDMI 2.1, it doesn't affect the overall picture quality or gaming performance with either the PS5 or Xbox Series X.

It has low input lag for a responsive feel and an excellent response time with high-frame-rate signals. While it's slower with 60 fps signals, it's still good, and you won't notice much blur trail with fast-moving objects. It also has a backlight strobing feature to reduce persistence blur, and unlike most monitors, it works at the same time as VRR, and it flickers within a wide range.

While you won't exactly find 4k 144Hz monitors in the budget category, the Gigabyte M28U is a great option to get if you want a 4k 144Hz monitor at a lower cost. It's essentially a smaller version of the Gigabyte M32U, with a few minor differences, like a different stand with worse ergonomics since it doesn't have swivel adjustments, but that's only an issue if you need to constantly adjust the screen. It still has excellent gaming performance and is versatile enough if you want to use it for other uses.

Like the larger variant, it has an excellent response time at its max refresh rate of 144Hz and remains quick at 120Hz if you want to use it for console gaming.  The M28U has a fairly straightforward design, looking almost identical to all other monitors

 It's a fairly understated design without too much gamer design language, so it shouldn't

 Overall, it doesn't really add much to the viewing experience, and can actually be more
