 If the average YouTuber reviewing a reverb pedal is here, I'm like way up there, but for the purpose of this video, I'm going to bring it right down into frame here. Okay, here's where I am, here's they are. Now, somebody who actually makes a usable reverb and understands how to make the algorithms for it, they're like here. However, this is a three-dimensional graph, okay? So this up here is like motivation and creativity and success, and this over here is people who make YouTube videos about effects pedals

 But at the algorithm level, it is very hard to deny that the Empress is superior to all of the above. The Specular Tempest is at its very worst, a close second to the Empress reverb. And at its very best, I would say that my favorite algorithm in here, I have a hard time deciding if I like it better than my favorite algorithm in the Empress. And that's saying a lot

 If those synthesizers have onboard effects, they will be turned off, of course. But first, I want to painstakingly go through these algorithms and see what this thing is made of. So so so so so so so so so so so so so As of August 1st, 2018, the $350 price combined with an incredibly diverse set of features and a brilliant combination of excellent reverb algorithms and tonal sampling make the Spekular Tempest an undeniable bargain and easily the best sounding reverb you'll find for under $400. I could make an entire other video about the software editor and the advanced features, of which there are many

 I have three stringed instruments, I have an electric, an acoustic, and a bass and I honestly think it's made me really. The Hx Stomp is what allowed me to do that. It made me realize that like sure, having new gear is inspirational and you know I'm never saying that I'm not going to purchase another guitar, switch it up, or buy more guitars, or more pedals. but right now it's doing exactly what I need and it's been amazing

 I can't wait to actually try it out. Maybe I'll do a video once I upgrade my Hx. Stop back there and um yeah, it might become end up becoming one of my favorites. Um and then as I mentioned earlier, the ampeg stuff with like the liquid chorus and the liquid or I don't think it's called the liquid comp but the the I think it's a optical compressor by a peg could be wrong on that

 It's nice to have that in the box available to me if I need it, but a lot of times you know it's just simple dirt delay, reverb stereo amp preferably which with the added efficiencies of the eight blocks, etc etc I'm easily able to do all through the Hx Stomp and that's what makes it worth it to me. But I want to know what you guys think comment down below: Do you think or are you using just the Hx Dom by itself to basically get your entire tone? Or is it just like an effects box that you know you use for certain effects that you know? Like I said, you need for the occasional gig, but you don't want it to take up a space actually on your board. When you go from clean to dirty, you'll want to level it out just like you would on a two channel amp. Just remember, even though it's remarkably smart, it only does what you tell it to do. And then switches two and three can bring in boost, modulation, delay, tremolo, whatever

  TL;DR: An enormously powerful tool in a compact package. It's best used as a compact all-in-one for a straightforward player - even as a complete amp and effects replacement - or as part of a larger rig where modeling and additional effects are wanted. There is a learning curve, but it is shorter than you might thing. Spend quality time building presets and the rewards are there

 You will want to take advantage of Snapshot mode. You will want to make certain that you level everything out. For example, in a program, you can split the paths with one path having a clean and comped tone and the other a dirty tone: that's three blocks, but just one footswitch. When you go from clean to dirty, you'll want to level it out just like you would on a two channel amp

 It's responsive, it's powerful, it's compact. And there are easy ways to include your favorite effects - the simplest being an FX Loop (which you can have two of, if you wish).
