Gateron Brown vs Outemu Brown

Just ordered one with Gateron Brown switches. I wanted hot-swappable but for practicality, I won’t be switching out switches ever.

They started to be unresponsive (one by one) around September 2021. That's a totally understandable durability for this price. I guess I got what I payed for.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, both Cherry MX and Gateron browns came out at the bottom of the ranking by this measure. On top of that, some experiments I did with swapping in more tactile stems confirm that the brown switches also have relatively weak tactile leaf springs.

I ordered three packs of the red switches to change out louder blue switches on my sons RGB keyboard. Two of the packs I received were just as shown with the black base but the third pack received have white bottoms. Perhaps it's just a coincidence but since installing these a week ago, I have had three switches which have either failed OR did not seat correctly when installed, all being the white base switches. I'm concerned now that the white bottom switches may be inferior to the black bottom versions (which, after all, are what is depicted in the description)
