While the Sony &alpha;7C is impressively compact for a full-frame camera, an APS-C camera will still be cheaper and smaller. The Fujifilm X-T30 II is super portable and lightweight, with dedicated exposure dials that give you more control over your settings on the fly. It also feels well-built, has a good battery life, and looks stylish.

At its heart is Fujifilm's tried and true 26-megapixel crop sensor, which captures excellent-quality images and performs well for its size in low light. Of course, it doesn't quite compare to the results you can get with a full-frame camera, but for most people, an APS-C sensor will be more than enough. On top of that, you get a decent autofocus system and film simulation profiles to play around with the look of your photos in-camera.

If it wasn't already clear, Fujifilm cameras are some of the best on the market for street photography, thanks to their portable designs and retro-inspired enthusiast-oriented designs. As far as mid-range mirrorless options go, the Fujifilm X-T30 II has a lot to love about it. It has a super portable lightweight body, and though it can feel more cramped than the Fujifilm X-Pro3, it still has Fuji's dedicated-dial layout that makes it easy to adjust settings on the go. Plus, you get a more traditional tilting screen with this model.

Like the other Fujifilm cameras mentioned here, it uses the same sensor, meaning image quality is comparable. However, it has a slower max burst rate and shooting speed than the X-Pro3 and doesn't have any weather-sealing. Still, if you like Fujifilm's old-school approach to design but prefer something a bit more conventional and portable, this is the camera for you.

The Fujifilm X-T30 II doesn't offer a huge amount of upgrades over the original Fujifilm X-T30, but if something ain't broke, why fix it? As far as portable mirrorless cameras go, the X-T30 II is one of the best mid-range options. Not only does the camera's retro styling look good, but its small body is ideal for travel and Fuji's old-school approach of using dedicated exposure dials gives you tactile control over your camera settings on the fly, so you don't need to dive into menus when you're in the moment.

Its APS-C sensor falls in between the full-frame Sony &alpha;7C and the Micro Four Thirds Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III, giving you a nice balance of image quality and size. And while APS-C competitors like the Sony &alpha;6400 (or one of its &alpha;6x00 series siblings) might have better autofocus, the combination of physical controls and Fuji's film simulation profiles make the Fujifilm a blast to shoot with. Add in a solid selection of fast prime lenses, and you've got a great camera for travel photography, particularly if you're interested in capturing people or street scenes.

Is the X-T30 good enough to tempt you from your current system of lenses to the Fuji ecosystem? I made this exact decision almost two years ago. Getting the X-T20 in late 2017 and using it for a few months led me to sell my 2 Canon bodies, 2 flashes, and 6 lenses because I realized Canon would never give me un-cropped 4K video at a great price

Best camera under a grand if you take stills *and* 4K videos

This is a far more compact and light camera than the X-T3. The X-T30 is only 0.844 pounds as opposed to the 1.19-pound flagship

As always, JPEGs from the X-T30 look downright terrific. All of Fujifilm’s signature film simulations are included, and it’s a lot of fun testing them and seeing what works best for a given shooting scenario, whether you’re looking for more vivid colors, moody black and white shots, or something with softer tones. The company recently launched a redesigned mobile app for iOS (it’ll come to Android this summer), but I’ll just say that there’s still room for improvement in terms of speed and eliminating unnecessary steps. The Wi-Fi connection between phone and camera is stable, and sending photos over to your phone for a quick Instagram post is a great option to have

 It can also detect and lock onto faces that are smaller (farther away) in a shot. And apparently black hair could throw off Fujifilm’s face detection before, so that’s been resolved, too. Those are the main improvements, and they’ll be coming to the X-T3 in short order. Otherwise, the X-T30 has the same dependable and fast autofocus system of the pricier camera

 It’s got the same fourth-generation 26.1-megapixel APS-C sensor, processing power, speedy burst shooting, and Fujifilm’s whole set of film simulations that require little retouching. The X-T30 can record excellent-looking 4K video, and its 425-point phase-detect autofocus system spans the entire frame. In fact, right now the X-T30 actually delivers better autofocus accuracy and face detection than the X-T3 — at least until a firmware update arrives for the latter sometime this month

Shrinking down the best parts (and price) of the X-T3

 The XT 3 has been transferred down here, but it's at a more affordable price point and the downsides like the EVF, the back screen and the lack of weather sealing are appropriate for that price point. So if you want to get what makes the XT 3 great, but in a smaller compact and easy to use body, I think the XT 30 is a great choice check it out. Don'T forget subscribe to our channel. It'S actually faster than the XD 3, although I'm sure the XT 3 is gon na be upgraded shortly, but this also gives the camera a lot of future-proof capability. I mean, if you put this, in contrast with cameras like the XT 20 and the XH one. Those cameras have been upgraded as much as possible by Fuji, but there's only so far

 Well that might make the XT 30 a worthy purchase. So I know we've been talking about a lot of features being basically the exact same as XT 3. Where does the price difference really come into play? It'S gon na be in some of the body, features this cameras, not why they're sealed, of course, at this price point, but also in the EVF in the back panel you're, looking at just over a million dots on the back panel, just over 2.3 million dots in The EVF very similar and compared well two other cameras at the same price point

 This is good test of the cameras. Preamp he's boosting my levels up a little bit more than we normally do. On top of that, he's, shooting the aterna profile and we're gon na be testing the continuous auto focusing face, detecting video. So keep that in mind you can see how well it's doing

DPReview TV: Fujifilm X-T30 First Impressions Review

The X-T3 can do 10-bit internally, and it also supports 60fps capture at 4K&mdash;the X-T30 tops out at 30fps when reocrding in 4K UHD or DCI resolution. Despite some limitations when compared with its pricier siblings, the X-T30 is very capable, even if it doesn't have IBIS. It supports 4K recording at up to 200Mbps, but does limit clips to 10 minutes. You can also record at 1080p for up to 15 minutes at a time

There are a number of video profiles available, including all of the same film looks for shooting stills. The camera does have Eterna, which was introduced with the X-H1, and is targeted for video use. It also has a flat profile, F-Log, which is available for both internal and external recording.

The autofocus system is essentially the same as the X-T3&mdash;the X-T30 actually offers some enhancements, which are coming to the X-T3 via a firmware update. In practice, it performs quite well. It locks focus quickly, supports eye and face detection for human subjects, and can track moving targets with ease.

The normal array of Fujifilm features are included. The X-T30 supports standard Raw and JPG capture, but also includes a number of profiles for JPG shooters who want an analog look. You can choose from different film looks, including the oversaturated Velvia (great for sunsets and landscapes), the classic Kodachrome (Fujifilm calls it Classic Chrome, but we know what it is), and the black-and-white Acros, among others.

 I bought the 23mm 1:1.4R and 35mm 1:1.4R lenses, and both have fairly loud autofocus mechanisms. Even when you use these lenses with manual focus, you're actually not controlling the assembly directly, it still uses the motors to focus

  • Autofocus noise through built-in mic.  If you stick with the 18-55mm kit lens you won't have this problem because it has a very quiet focus mechanism. I bought the 23mm 1:1.4R and 35mm 1:1

 No rolling shutter in video, which makes a world of difference from other cameras in this price range and means you can actually shoot really beautiful video with it.  Overall I really love this camera, especially in combination with some of the nice prime lenses available for it. There's room for improvement, but I wouldn't want to trade it for anything else with the same form factor.  Instead of rehashing other reviews for this camera, I'll focus on a things I found noteworthy that I didn't find mentioned anywhere else, and only learned about from using the camera

With either of these lenses, the internal mic is unusable because it will pic up constant focus whirring, which has ruined quite a few videos for me. The ST-1 external mic still pics up autofocus noise but less loudly, so you'll have to be creative and isolate the mic from the body physically and move it further away from the lens than the included mount does

Excellent photo and video quality, a few weird quirks and limitations to the body and software.

 I mostly got it for landscape and city/street photography, but also have hopes of doing astrophotography eventually with some 3rd party prime lenses (Fuji's primes are a bit out of my budget currently). Besides the lower price, I also selected it over it's big brother, the X-T3, because of its more compact size and lighter weight. But besides those things and a few minor feature limits, it is essentially the same camera for a few hundred $ less. I will update soon with more thoughts and some photos

I really enjoy this camera. It is top-notch quality you would expect from Fujifilm and it is on par, or even better than, the X-T3 in some cases. It is a little smaller than the X-T3, but that may be a good thing to some. Overall it is a newer version of the X-T3 for less cost and smaller package

So, first off the xt30 version 2 for some crazy reason still uses that old, 2.5 millimeter jack, which means, if you want to attach a microphone you need to have the 2

But beyond needing nice light, a good landscape photo really needs a much more interesting sky, but oh well.  and I've read the other reviews I've watched the other videos I Know people love pixel shift, but either way the good news is image quality is already fantastic even without pixel shift. We know this is a really good sensor in this camp, and thus lens is beautiful. It was actually pretty decent for landscapes, but I loved it. For portraits and low-light work, it's really nice, but it's also probably equally nice on an original K1

Hey so I'm out here at the Dog Mountain trailhead in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge on the Oregon Washington border and I've brought with me the Pentax K12 so pretty excited to go shoot this. This is a great landscape camera thanks to its pixel shift high resolution mode, but also I'm really excited to try out this lens. This is the brand-new 50 millimeter F 1 point 4 SDM Aw its pen taxes new high-end normal focal length prime. Really, really excited to get to shoot this

 I have a limited window to shoot these reviews so I take what I can get. and then we'll head back to the office and check out these images on the computer to see if they look as good as they do on the back of the camera. So yeah, the files look great, but pixel shoot I just don't know. Even on a tripod, the gains you get from it aren't always that apparent and they often come with some rather significant drawbacks

 This update right here was pretty lackluster. just like my unboxing I just felt like I was using the same camera. You know, if maybe they gave me a few more frames per second, maybe more autofocus point just remain slightly better image quality or ISO function something ought to handout picture ship something.  I Think someone that translated Japanese to English just got it all twisted in words or something. But we thought that once we buy this camera, we set it to handheld picture shift mode or something and we would take the shot with no tripod and we'll get a great clean image that's slightly sharper. Of course in a regular JPEG or raw image, we will get a better image quality with no tripod. This time we just take the photo and what just happened right? We did not get that guys
