Another nice addition that I like with this brand new Claret audio interface is the left and right output levels which isn't something that you got with the older 18i20 which I think visually is nice and it's also just a nice indicator to show you what's going on when you play your tracks

 Now the final thing we have to have a look at is the price difference and when I first purchased my 18i20 around 2015 2016 it did cost me around $500 and the upgraded version the third generation which came out about a year or two ago it's also around $500 $550 and I must say in terms of value for money these audio interfaces are great with 18 inputs 20 outputs a lot of XLR inputs which is nice if you want to record multiple microphones guitars all at the same time and for a studio setup this is an audio interface that's going to last you three four five years easily without needing to upgrade because it is also big enough but if you're looking to upgrade and you want preamp quality you want to be able to hear the quality in an expensive microphone and not record with an 18i20 or something cheap but you want to hear those details and you're paying to hear those details it is a good investment to pay for an audio interface like the Claret that's a thousand dollars that will also last at least five to ten years before you really would want to upgrade and it's just going to do such a good job and give you the vocal quality that you deserve to have when you're recording and making your music.  I use lowish (30 ohm) cans that are very efficient, and find that it plays loud and sounds great. But beware that this is where Focusrite cut corners.  Finally, the bad news. Focusrite's software is a minor horror show

 Support is nonexistent, most help that would be gotten are for the Scarlett series of interfaces, which from personal experience, actually work and are simpler to install.  I was hugely disappointed in the product. I expected better of Focusrite.

It was too much trouble to get working; It forces you to install a control app that doesn't detect the interface the first few times around and the USB drivers cause too many issues. I wasn't able to get an signal to or from the device. Support is nonexistent, most help that would be gotten are for the Scarlett series of interfaces, which from personal experience, actually work and are simpler to install. They're big, but if you don't mind big, they're mind-blowingly good, and since they're studio monitors that "fling" sound forward, instead of in all directions, you can get loud without having to worry as much about it disturbing others.

I use a pair of Fostex PM-2 MK II speakers with a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 USB audio interface. I'm an audiophile, so I love clean, balanced sound, and as studio monitor speakers, you'll have perfect audio reproduction. I've had them all for ten years, and they're still rock solid. They're big, but if you don't mind big, they're mind-blowingly good, and since they're studio monitors that "fling" sound forward, instead of in all directions, you can get loud without having to worry as much about it disturbing others

What kind of desktop speaker to buy?

 Let'S look at this start off with the front, because this is the part you're going to be using the most on the front panel here is broken down into three sections: the inputs, your monitoring section and your headphones. So, let's start with the inputs, because you know those would probably be what you use the most to line and microphone inputs. Now, when we say nine and microphone line will be when you're using something like a guitar or a synth. That has a connection like this and you pop that straight in there that's called a quarter inch Jack

 My about my personal experience, I'm using Logic Pro 9. The interface is detected with no problems in Logic. Pro it comes with its own actual software that you can use to control latency buffer size. You can take pressure off of the CP CPU and put it onto the audio face interface

 If you have that type of instrument that has an external clock feature, then this audio interface will allow you to use that not many have that right, you're, you're, balanced, main outputs, then you're left in you're right. These are for where you plug in your studio monitors. I have a quarter inch jack two XLR cables from my studio monitors to try and get the best quality they're balanced, so that reduces interference and noise come through the cables and signals mix a lot better, so make sure you get balanced audio cables with it as Well, you can also use an RCA cable, I suppose, if you get a quarter inch Jack with RCA adapter out it back so have one of these at the back of red and white at the back. You can pop that in and then plug this style of jack into it

 I have a quarter inch jack two XLR cables from my studio monitors to try and get the best quality they're balanced, so that reduces interference and noise come through the cables and signals mix a lot better, so make sure you get balanced audio cables with it as Well, you can also use an RCA cable, I suppose, if you get a quarter inch Jack with RCA adapter out it back so have one of these at the back of red and white at the back. You can pop that in and then plug this style of jack into it. If you have that or you need that, you got two more outputs here, so these outputs, you can send, sounds from your computer or from the interface to another device. Let'S say an external mixer, so you might have in your chain an audio interface and then a mixer connected to that, because you want to have more mics than just two or more headphones and just one for instance

This update comes to the original complete audio 6 that they put out a while back, and here we are a couple years later or a lot of years later with the mk2. I just want to mention that all audio recordings for this video was recorded with complete audio 6 MK 2. So as we unbox it, of course, we get the audio interface itself, some documentation with links to get started and download the included software

GET THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK WITH THIS AUDIO INTERFACE (Komplete Audio 6 MK2)

  I also noticed that the distortion of the loopback results was affected by the headphone output level. Driving my Sennheiser PMX60 phones this was noticeable and would drive up the distortion to 0.12% when the mic sensitivity was high. This is just plain weak, no such affect with the Focusrite

When you unpack this device the heft and feel of the controls as well as little touches like the top mounted LEDs, the retaining locks on the XLR connectors and the tight USB friction lock make you fall in love with it. Have to say, that the drivers seem very stable under Win 7/64 and the control panel is very useful. And having SPDIF I/O and 4 analog in-outs in this small a package are great. So you really want to love it

01% at the best combination of input and output levels, dominated by 2nd and 3rd order harmonics, so this unit might sound a little "tubey". But these distortion figures are about 10x what you can get from a Focusrite 2i2Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2 In/2 Out USB Recording Audio Interface for less money (I measured 0.0007%). You can forgive the Audio 6's moderate distortion, but the mic gain controls only have 36dB of range which is way too low

Wanted to love it...

 Pretty much everything from the complete control keyboards to the Machine controller to Tractor to you know kind of everything. But when it comes to my audio interfaces, I've used the Focusrite Scarlett series over the last couple of years. I used to have the scarlett 2i2 and then I upgraded to the scarlett 6i6 from Focusrite, which is a decent audio interface, but I actually had some issues with it. When I did my live streams here on youtube, everything was working, just fine and all of a sudden

I had some issues with the focusrite scarlett 6i6 and this one is my replacement for that, and it doesn't hurt at all that the design of this one really fits into my black kind of theme that I have in my studio. It doesn't hurt, and by the way, I think I forgot to mention one of my favorite features of this one, and that is that it's actually bus powered, there's no such thing as some kind of audio adapter, with a special little connector like this to connect it. So I guess that's maybe one of the reasons why the audio levels are a little bit lower than what I'm used to, but it's not like that's gon na be a problem or anything

 We have the first two inputs as well as all of the different controls setting us up. Is nice and easy, just one single cable and then one clicking logic and I'm up and running, and just to make sure that everything works. Fine and the audio actually comes into the computer. I'M testing it out with two different microphones, and it sounds like this

 Do you interface just work just be connected that computer just handled everything audio wise in and out, it needs to sound decent, and this one really really sounds decent. What I need to mention, though, is that the audio levels on this one is a bit lower compared to what I had before, with the 6i6 from focusrite, and because I'm mainly a machine user. I'M gon na use machine together with this audio interface and set it up inside of the machine and I'm not using any type of software to route. My signals in and out, I'm just handling everything from machine and just connecting things from the front on the back

  I was also a bit disappointed with the komplete elements package. The patches all sounded very fake and digital and while there were some cool synth sounds, the editors were really hard to use and i could never find a straight up sawtooth wave for making my own sounds.

  Seeing as my priorities were low latency and d-a conversion quality, and i really liked the aesthetics of the thing, I went for it.  The sound quality was only marginally better than the onboard sound on my macbook pro. Seeing as it's the only interface I've owned, I can't compare it to other interfaces like the apogee one/duet, the m-audio fast tracks or the mboxes.  The headphone output was really weak

 My headphones (denon ah-d2000s) are only 32ohms and i still wish i could get more volume out of them when playing older tracks and mixing with ableton live. At max volume its about equal to 60% on my macbook pro.  I was also a bit disappointed with the komplete elements package.
