 But I don't think that vinyl and analog purists will mind the manual nature of the RT82 or other reference turntables. Another great feature built into the RT82 and the other reference line turntables that I briefly mentioned earlier are the adjustable feet underneath. These reference turntables have three adjustable rubber vibration isolating feet down here so that you can get the turntable to absolute level to get the best playback from your turntable. So once you have everything set up and you have it going through a preamp and into your speakers or receiver or headphones, how does it sound? Incredibly pure

 Today we're going to be taking a look at the Fluance RT82 reference turntable.

 With the resurgence and popularity of vinyl, Fluance has been putting out some turntables

 that receive high marks from audio files.

 This reference line from Fluance, including this RT82, is meant to give a pure analog

 signal out of the turntable, giving the listener complete control over what they want to do

 The RT82 is just the starting point of Fluance's reference line, it goes all the way up to

 So if you've been subscribed to this channel for a while, you probably know that we've

 done some other Fluance audio products this year, and we're really big fans of what they're

 So those cartridges range from the Audio-Technica ATN-91 found on the RT80, all the way up to

 the Ortofon 2M Blue, which is found on the RT85.

 And then the cartridge that we have on this one, on this model, the RT82, is the Ortofon

 Well, it seems like they found that some listeners were looking for a pure analog signal out

 There are lots of great, more convenient options like the RT80, RT81 from Fluance, but also

 the wildly popular Audio-Technica turntables like the LP-60BK, which I actually have downstairs

 Those have a built-in preamp and some really nice features, but Fluance was finding that

 a lot of listeners wanted a pure analog signal coming out of there, so no built-in preamp,

 that just gives complete control to the listener to go through their own equipment.

 On the back, we just have the RCA audio output, ground, the auto stop on or off switch, and

 So with this turntable, and I'm sure the rest of the reference line as well, there's quite

 a bit of assembly required to get up and going.

 So Fluance has included a nice, clear manual to make that easier.

 So when you receive the turntable, you have to install the platter, the turntable mat,

 And I'm sure this is to make sure that everything ships safely and is in good condition when

 you receive it, but it does require some additional setup because of that.

 And another thing to keep in mind is that because this is a reference turntable and

 it does not have a built-in preamp, you will need some sort of audio device that has a

 Fluance recommends using their own preamp, which is the PA10, available for $80.

 And they even have some nice packages that include a turntable, preamp, and speakers

 But there are lots of other options out there, and if you have a receiver that has a phono

 But I had an old turntable preamp sitting around from an old turntable that I used to

 It's a pile that I got on Amazon, which usually sells for I think $33.

 Because of its pure analog construction mindset, operation is pretty manual as well.

 Once set up, to start playing a record, place the record on the aluminum mat found on the
