Maybe the xiaoxin pad plus, the 2020 one. Big large screen, I think it's 2.5k and doesn't have the blurry edges of the pro one. Last time I checked it was like 280 dollars.

The 10"'ish Tab A models from Samsung have enough power and are a nice size for comic reading, the cheaper Lenovo models are a good option too.

 Other then the crap battery it's got a good looking screen, and runs games smooth enough for me. I'm probably gonna end up returning this by the end of the week. I wanted to love it, the price is right and the specs should be good. But the battery makes me give it a low star review  Add on, 6-1-21 Did a 33 minute Ifit rowing session, battery dropped 15%!!!  This problem happen on my earlier HD 10 also. Rebooting doesn't help, syncing doesn't help, and I'm not doing a factory reset for this. It would be nice if Amazon could fix this glitch. The Amazon "system" works so well in most other areas it just seems kind of petty in these two areas, it will never earn more stars until these things are rectified

Better than the last one but....

 I have had no connection issues concerning input devices, but sometimes, when I stream music to My stereo via Bluetooth, the signal may become distorted after a few hours, at which point, I simply restart My Fire tablet and keep it moving. I added the recommended screen protector and 256GB MicroSD Card. The camera's are not the best, but I did not buy this for it's picture taking capabilities. I would like to see Amazon put a better front facing camera for video conferencing, but then I would have to say the same for Laptop manufacture's as well

 Earlier I mentioned that this tablet was very capable and that the Amazon App Store was limited; very. As a result, I downloaded and installed the Google Play Store App (GPSA). The process was relatively easy and I did not need the use of an additional computer. This is an Android device at its very core, produced by Google

 This tablet came with Microsoft Office already installed, and it does not require a subscription. I love the battery life, especially when playing music. The split screen option is great also for multi-tasking. The Amazon App store has the bare minimum, but sufficient for what I need

The price vs performance ratio is hard to beat!

 the colors were more vibrant and it was like someone turned saturation up in the perfect way. the colors were just so dang good. and the picture was incredibly sharper. They nailed the display perfectly

 is so sharp, and so vibrant the comparison was night and day. The 2019 Fire tablet was good but its colors were more muted and over all more dull. when side by side with the new one. its a no brainer

 The screen real-estate is still 10" just like the 2019 model. What has been shrunk is the dead zones of the tablet along the edges. My pictures should show that :)  Now to the review.  Comparing to the Kindle FIre HD 10 (2019) BLUE vs the new Kindle fire HD 10 + (black)  Over all

 and the picture was incredibly sharper. They nailed the display perfectly. this is the kind of quality i like to see in upgrades hands down.  Camera 6/10  What can i say

Bigger is not always better.

 It handles everything I have thrown at it. It is a marginal improvement over the last 8 Plus in this regard. If you were hoping for huge speed and performance upgrades over the 8 Plus, do not bother here. As a long time Fire tablet and Android user, I will say that I have never understood Amazon’s decision here

 Enter the new HD 10 Plus with its larger screen. My assumption was that, for the most part, this would basically be a larger version the 8. Generally, my assumption was correct but Amazon did a very nice job of tweaking some areas that desperately needed it. I will detail some of those tweaks here but, at its core, this tablet is still very much just a very reasonably priced entertainment device

 I no longer miss my S21 Ultra when watching video during my elliptical sessions. It is also snappier than I thought initially. Moving around the tablet and interacting with various apps feels more responsive than the last 8 to me for sure. Amazon does include the AAC codec here so Apple users will have optimized audio when listening to music

 So, for devices that retail at less than $250, it would not be fair to expect that level of screen quality. That being said, Amazon has definitely improved things here. We get 1080p HD and the screen does not feel as laggy or slow to me. Further, it is noticeably brighter to my eyes which was probably my single biggest complaint about the 8

 I like its a 'C' charge like our cell phones, (less cables), offering a faster charge, the extra 1080 screen size, and the extra ram make it easily worth the money for the upgrade! We're not set up for wireless charging, but its nice to have! The negative is obvious, no google play, you're stuck with Amazon apps which are no where near the amount or quality of Google Play (Amazon just let Google in already), the camera isn't very good, and there's no 'sim card' as a back up for your phone! Yea I know its not advertised with a 'sim', but I keep bugging Amazon to come out with a higher end tablet with a 'sim slot'! Ya listening Amazon?  Connecting to our home wifi, (my speed on this tablet is 200 plus Mbps download, same as my wife's much more expensive Apple tablet), so cruising the internet, watching videos, watching live TV is great, gaming not so much! But that's not what this is built for, so look elsewhere if your into the more intricate games, but this can handle regular, simpler games !  Set up was easy, and the advertising is only on your lock screen when you first open, so not a big deal at all! As far as build, it feels tough, built strong, and inside a case I bought for it, I'm not concerned about it traveling, etc!  So in summary, a great deal at $109., at the regular price of $179, I'd likely have upgraded spent more, all the way to an Acer 15 inch lap top Amazon has on sale for $369.! But at $109. I figure I'd give Amazon a few more years to come out with a 'sim card' tablet! Or I'll just have to buy one of them expensive foldable phones!-))

Best bang for your money!

There's a lot to like about the Fire Tablet, the price, the great battery life, and the bright, albeit HD-only display. All are good or better than other devices in this category that I have used. Crummy camera, though, but what can you expect for the price? A HUGE disappointment, though, is the lack of applications and the software experience in general. This is, after all, and Android device, but due to Amazon wanting to contol and "personalize" the underlying Android OS, we are left with a watered-down, crippled version of Android

 Among the top missing ones are GMail, Chrome, Google Maps, Calendar, Contacts, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Keep. Many other applications are missing also, including any you may have purchased through the Google Play Store. This alone is grounds for -2 stars. Not quite worth the loss of another star is that the tablet is fairly bulky, plasticy feeling, and heavy

 It is simply not there and an incredibly useful feature that Amazon seems too have completely abandoned. This is truly inexcusable and has forced me to drop yet another star. Amazon has great hardware, but they have let everyone down with their proprietary nonsense and closed software system. I have owned Android devices forever now and have never, ever, run into one as closed and featureless as the Fire tablet
