It doesn't take a genius to realize that you probably shouldn't be writing underwater then putting a notebook away wet, but it should be at least addressed for those who actually might be wanting to do that for whatever crazy reason. Otherwise the books are fantastic and it was a great little 3-pack for the purchase. Chances are I will be buying the same type next time around just because I love how well they hold up, ink aside. I'll just keep writing with a pencil instead!

excellent, sturdy, attractive. more robust than other similar products from other brands. It fits my iphone 6 even with its rubber cover. helpful outlets for both the phone jack and the charger

It works with a Sharpie fine tip but it lacks the ability to "glide" like a ball point or gel pen so it's a PITA to write a lot of content. I write copious notes so this is a deal breaker. I purchased the Uni Jetstream pen that has fast drying ink and while it works, it works to a degree with the Expedition. I found for some reason, the ink won't write in certain spots

However, the tablet version is awful. The plastic assembly to hold your tablet in place is paper-thin, and looks like something you'd receive as a consolation prize after losing a raffle. The thin plastic sticks look like some sort of novelty party favor. However, the worst part is that the plastic isn't brushed/buffed/polished in any way, which means sharp corners galore

As much as I like the durability, and as much as I wanted a notebook that would stand the test of time (and the trials of my purse), this was not for me. I purchased another three-pack which should get along with me a little better.

And, while most iPad stands hold your tablet at a static level, the adjustable height (and tilt) make this model a perfect mate to your existing monitor. Gone are the days of craning and straining to see your work — simply turn your head and it's right where you expect it to be. It's also a good solution for those wishing to use their iPad as an occasional PC replacement — adding a keyboard and mouse effectively turn your iPad into a tiny iMac, completely wireless and light enough to move from room to room, as your preference dictates.

I love Field Notes and pretty much buy everything they put out. Their American-made quality & company integrity really shows in how they conduct themselves and the products they provide. I bought these, as I have been a longtime fan of weather/water-proof notebooks (like "Write-in-the-Rain") series, so I was excited to get my hands on these. I must say they are impeccably designed & manufactured, and the recycled plastic-based paper is a great concept

If you have an SPX, this thing is worth ordering from Amazon, if only due to the free return shipping if you don't like it. EDIT: I tried using the SPX on the stand with it oriented in PORTRAIT ORIENTATION, albeit in its lowest height setting. It worked pretty well and was pretty stable. I suppose this news isn't revelatory to most readers, but if you have a SPX, this might be useful

I love Aaron Draplin, the graphic designer who helped design Field Notes. He is awesome and so are these notebooks. They're super durable and totally rad. DO IT

I needed something that was going to elevate the tablet up so that it sat next to the Macbook while it was on the stand. This stand does not accomplish this, as it sits about 4 inches too low to match the height of the computer when both are on stands. If you just need a tablet stand, then this little guy should do the trick nicely; but if you're looking for something a little taller for use in conjunction with the Rain Design Macbook stand, I would recommend that you look for something else.

I've used the "Write In Rain" type , so I was used to having to find a certain pen or pencil. The Field Notes Expedition notebooks are like that. If you don't use the right pen, it will smear on the nearly tear proof, water resistant paper. I've found that a pencil works well all the time and as for a pen, the UniBall "Jetstream" works best

The top enclosure does not slide down enough to embrace and secure the iPad. And with the height fully extended, the iPad in landscape does not align with a MacBook on an mstand. If they release an updated version or Apple enable portrait mode for sidecar then I would reconsider purchasing this. Until then I opted for the Kabcon (awaiting delivery)
