 Hey everyone, it's Brad here with BackcountrySkiingCanada.com and today we're going to talk about the Faction

 So the Agent series of skis by Faction was introduced last year, the 3.0 and 4.0 versions

 were introduced this year and as I mentioned before this is the 3.0 version.

 This line of skis is heavily influenced by the Faction Dictator.

 Both ski lines share the same dimensions so this ski, the 3.0, is 34 in the tip, 106 underfoot

 So it shares the same dimensions and also the same sidecut radius, 21 meters.

 So the Faction Dictator heavily influenced this Agent 3.0 ski.

 This is a much lighter ski, 720 grams lighter for the pair at the 180 centimeter length

 It's made for the backcountry but it can also ski the resort as well.

 It's got generous tip rocker as you can see there up front, softer tips than tails but

 Underfoot here we have a titanal mounting plate embedded in the ski construction and

 four, I think you can see that four millimeters of camber underfoot.

 So in the tails we've got a little bit less early rise as you can see and also we've got

 So this rubberized bumper here will help with durability when you get the ski and put it

 down on pavement or rocks and things like that.

 And also it's got that built-in skin notch so that the skins, the tail clips of the skins

You might not even fully realize just how much you want a ski like this. For high-volume ski touring, steep-and-rowdy firm-snow ski mountaineering, and work-week, headlamp exercise skinning, a lightweight set-up based on the K2 WayBack 80 is just the ticket. The featherweight construction flies uphill. The narrow and stiff construction grabs on the steeps but gets bucked around in tougher snow. 
This is a specialized tool. You won't pick these for day-to-day backcountry skiing. Deep, perfect powder snow is enjoyable, but bigger guns will be even more fun. Any sort of poor snow &#40;breakable crust? Slop?&#41; is better handled by a bigger and heavier option. All small skis are under-equipped for tough snow, but the K2 does better than most. It is this ski's more forgiving tough-snow performance that edges it ahead of other close competitors.
