3. Astigmatism in both eyes I have; know your IPD and adjust accordingly 🤷. Depends the game really. I can't play games like beat saber with all the effects on because they both my eyes

To be honest, I really didn't know what to expect with VR on the Index. My first and only VR experience prior to the Index was back in 1996 on Nintendo's Virtual Boy. I played every title I could get my hands on and would grind away for hours despite the headaches it gave me. 

I changed positions at my job in 2020 and was still paying off student loans which kept my finances pretty tight. Winter of 2021 I paid off all my debt and was finally able to build my dream PC "10900k, EVGA FTW3 3090" as well as treat my partner to a much needed vacation in Hawaii.

Early last Spring, I started researching VR but blew it off as I have severe astigmatisms in both eyes which I haven't corrected with glasses, contacts or Lasik.

This Fall, I began scouring the internet for pancake games which would keep me sane during the long night which is North Dakota winter. I came up with a few but nothing kept my interest for more than a couple days.

Finally took the plunge on the last day of 2021, purchased the Index and eagerly awaited it's shipment. 

Well, it arrived late on Tuesday and I am hooked! 

Started off with Valve's lab, definitely a ton of fun and was a good toe dip into the shallow end of the VR pool.

Moved onto H3VR and was thrilled with the arsenal at my fingertips. My partner kept checking in on me as she heard my yips, laughs and bellows as I plugged away in the virtual range. Played the meatgrinder mode next and will probably be spending many hours there in the future. 

Finally, I loaded up HL Alyx..... Wow...Just Wow. The immersion of Alyx is insane! All my boyhood dreams of being on a Star Trek Holodeck have been realized. Ultimate immersion! When you pair together the room scale, knuckle controllers, wide fov of the headset, the incredible audio.....it's just simply incredible! 

Now to my questions: 

1. When you adjust the headset on your head while its running, is it supposed to go briefly to grey screen? I find that when I put pressure on the headset with my hands, it does this.
2. I would like to extend my place space to my living room as my den where the computer is doesn't allow for a large room scale experience. Can anyone recommend quality active extenders in the 60ft range? 
3. Even though the screens are quite clear, I have a lot of blooming / halo effects from bright white projections. Is this most likely from my vision issues? Anyone here have astigmatisms that can shed light on this?
4. Is there any VR games which come close to Alyx in terms of immersion, graphic fidelity, etc? I'm a bit weary to go full steam on Alyx's storyline as I know it's often touted as the cream of the crop.

48 hours with the Index and I am hooked! Sharing my experience and have some questions.

 So you do have a grab bar down here when it's all folded, you can lift it and kind of move it and you've got that motor down under there and the motor hood has a really low profile. So you won't hit your foot on it. So one thing i really like about the echelon stride: is it basically comes pre-assembled? You have to attach just a few little things here there, mostly the superficial, stuff cup holders and things, but it comes mostly assembled. So assembly is not difficult at all

 I really like how it does that. A lot of treadmills don't do that kind of counts down, for you a little bit there and the same with incline. So if i'm at a three incline - and i hit six, it's going to bring me up really quickly. I don't have to

 We haven't seen that in a lot of other treadmills. So let me demo for you real, quick, how it folds down, so you can see right here. I'Ve got it all set up now the console right here, just kind of angles down, so you want to angle down that console and then you have two release buttons on either side and you're, just going to gently release that console until it rests along the top Of the uprights, then your release - knob, is this red foot knob down here, and all you have to do is press that knob and it will release on its own and really the only tricky part with this that i've noticed is your safety key tends to get In the way, so it's going to lock into place if i move that safety key it'll even go just a little bit flatter. So that is your collapsed footprint and you can see it's just about 10 and a half inches high

I'm looking for a good floodlight, it needs 1500 lumens or more, needs to be able to run about 2 hours on full blast. The batteries need to me swappable (I have a couple 18650 batteries).  Replaceable batteries are also a plus so I could just pack a fresh set of batteries to swap during the ride. The current BBB helmet light is 130 grams. It CAN be a little bit heavier but not much.
