Absolutely go with the Sole.. At the beginning of the pandemic (March 2020) I purchased the Horizon 7.0 AT based on the same logic you laid out. I had to replace the tread (\~$200 with shipping) in less than 6 months and in under a year was looking at replacing it a second time, even though I followed the recommended maintenance and took good care of the machine. Regardless what the reviews, websites, etc. say, this machine is absolutely not made for running and I frequently experienced power surges while using it at speeds \~7.0 mph-7.5 mph that would cause it to spontaneously stop or surge/change speeds while I was using it - very scary and dangerous.

Wish me luck, I just bought the Horizon 7.0 AT. Reading all the the horrible customer service stories almost stopped me, but it seems like so much value for the price of there isn't anything that goes wrong with it. I also purchased it will my Citi credit card, which extended the warranty by 24 months after the manufacturer's warranty. I was able to get the treadmill, the mat, and taxes for $1,017.

;) I purchased a Horizon 7.0 AT last week and have used it 4 days now. I'm basing most my feedback on what I received. I do think a little side curl is normal, but it shouldn't be touching or rubbing against the guides. I think something may be misaligned on yours.

I have a Horizon 7.0 AT, only $999. I was told that Horizons change speed and incline much more quickly than Sole, as they’re designed for interval training. My experience has been that that is true.

I landed on the Horizon STUDIO series of Treadmills. It was between either the Studio 7.0 AT or the T101 from the GO Series. When comparing those two and compared the other models in the lineup as well. I did pick the 7.0 AT at the end.

I have a horizon 7.0 and love it. It was $1200 with shipping. I was looking for something simple, decent motor, incline over 12%, and easy to have in an apt art meant. It ticked all my boxes and I use it about 4 times a week for the last 3 months.

For $1K, go with the Horizon 7.0 or Sole F63. They are both very good machines.

The 7.0 has a much faster drive and lift motor if you're into quick changes like Peloton workouts.

After talking it over and thinking it through, we decided to divorce the screen from the treadmill, and went with the Horizon 7.0 Studio Series AT, here: If I did not already have a big screen TV in the room that it was going in, we probably would've done the proform9000.
