In any case, this is not the right gimbal for me a this time. I think I would be better suited with one of the Zhiyun gimbals, or maybe even the Ronin-SC, or any other lighter weight gimbals.

 DJI was kind enough to send us out this new gimbal to test out and review, but just like always this review is completely unbiased. I am not being paid by DJI to do this review. Now at first glance this gimbal looks almost identical to its big brother, the Ronin-S. Basically it's just a lot smaller and a lot lighter to accommodate some of the newer smaller mirrorless cameras, but they did also pack this gimbal full of a ton of new features that we honestly didn't expect

 When filming with the 1DX on the Ronin-S, my arms usually get exhausted after a full day of filming, but I was pleasantly surprised with how light this feels, it almost feels like a toy in my hand compared to this guy, and just makes filming all day long a lot easier. So that was kind of the main purpose I think for them making the smaller version, is allowing people maybe who aren't as strong or who don't want to have to carry that much weight around all day, giving them a smaller, lighter option, and so they definitely succeeded at that making this much lighter. As far as battery life goes, the SC has 11 hour battery life versus 12 hour battery life on the S, so not much of a drawback there. Something new though that the Ronin-S doesn't have that we saw with the Zhiyun Crane 3 are the mechanical locks that allow you to lock in every individual arm, which makes it really nice for traveling, and also makes it easier to balance each arm individually

 Moving on to our last test was the sports mode. Although this feature is more common among 3-axis gimbals today, I think the Ronin S is still the best at the sports mode. And I thought the Ronin SC would work just as well in sports mode, and it almost did, but we tried all kinds of different settings and couldn't quite get it as good as the Ronin S. As you can see by this example, it does a great job, but was just a little bit harder to control

I'm truly excited because out of nowhere and for just 439 US dollars, this may be a true game changer. If I would be another gimbal manufacturer right now, I would be shaking my head

If they would add some new specs, some new details, what would be different by DJI at this time. But what we didn't expect was to see a much more advanced camera, because look at this

 The most important thing that you're gonna learn here today is the older Ronin-S, just the gimbal, was 1.5 kilograms. And let me put this here. If you go now to the newer Ronin-SC, only the gimbal is 830 grams, which means almost half the weight

DJI RONIN SC REVIEW AND COMPARISON!

 If you had the Sony version the 24-70 G Master, you actually won't be able to get a balance on the system. There is a workaround and that is using counterweights, either universal ones or something like the dedicated small rig one that replaces the actual plate and lets you add some weights to the back. Though most of my setups won't need this, I'll likely pick up one of these just to be on the safe side if I ever do. It's fairly cheap and I'll leave a link down in the video description

 It wasn't horrible, but definitely noticeable and very annoying. So much so that even though this gimbal had a ton of advantages, I was going to send it back and just use the crane too. I even had this video all set up with an overall poor review because of this issue, that is until DJI released a firmware update with support for more camera controls and an advanced calibration tool that is right in the app. I'm not sure if it was just the new firmware or it was the tool that fixed it for me, but ever since then the horizons have been perfectly straight

Do I Regret buying the Ronin SC? - Honest Review

It will struggle to work well on the smaller/cheaper gimbals in that price range. Sadly, that is just the price of gimbals. If you can't afford a used Ronin SC, then you can't afford a gimbal. And even if you get that, it might struggle at the edge of its payload capacity

Need Help Looking for a gimbal

 Balancing the phone on top of the camera wasn't an easy task. The whole setup just felt very flimsy. I tried a few different lenses to make the setup lighter but wasn't having a lot of luck. That said the app was tracking well but the gimbal had issues changing directions and trying to keep up with the subject

 You can adjust the speed and depth band for each of those and smoothing for the 360 roll and I do love using that feature. But one thing that is hard to pull off is to get it perfectly straight once you complete the full rotation. And I do wish you could make it spin faster, there are three presets for speed and the custom one, but this one was a bit too slow for the shot right here. Overall build is fantastic, the handle feels nice, button layout makes sense, the focus motor feels smooth, although it has a short travel and sometimes feels a bit too sensitive

 The point is you should definitely take a good look at your gear before picking your ideal gimbal. But switching to other, lighter lenses and filming with the Ronin SC was a blast. At 2.7 pounds, without a camera attached, it's easy to use for a longer period of time

DJI Ronin SC review: a gimbal worth buying

 So if I want to maybe change my starting point, I want the phone to be like this, recenter, it recenters. So I've got a wireless video transmitter on here that is going to deliver a signal to this other phone here. This phone is receiving the signal and displaying what's going on with the camera. So now with the two phones connected, one acts as the remote control, one acts as the wireless video feed, I can move the camera remotely and actually monitor what I'm doing just like this

 You can only change the modes that already exist. And for me, that's kind of an annoying limitation when I'm trying to work fast in the field. But if you're happy with having three modes plus the trigger, then pretty much everything else about this gimbal is really good. And it's really usable

 It's comfortable in the hand and it's not too heavy, most importantly. So that's what I think of the Ronin SC. I hope that you found some formative and I will see you in the next video.

 There, that's in focus. I think the focus wheel and the focus motor, they're great ideas if you also had a good wireless video assist and you had a separate person pulling focus from across the room. But if you're trying to do it all as a one-man band, I just don't think it's going to be that practical in most environments, in most situations, unless you have complete control over what you're filming and if you're moving pretty slowly with the gimbal. So that's my little test of the focus

 I can do this manually with the Zhiyun and use more professional apps instead of Hohem's app. Now, I do miss the iSteady V2 AI sensor but I'll take quality and comfort over the Hohem anyday. I just didn't see the iSteady V2 as being a long term gimbal. For kids, families and TikTok videos I get it, but not for more professional long-term use

 The clamps are absolutely perfect and can hold my phone with the case and most importantly, it's super easy to insert and remove my phone.  The iSteady V2 has got some nice features in the app with Moments but are kind of gimmicky IMO. I can do this manually with the Zhiyun and use more professional apps instead of Hohem's app. Now, I do miss the iSteady V2 AI sensor but I'll take quality and comfort over the Hohem anyday

I have been using this gimbal for the first time in my iohone14pro max and its not at all fitting. The phone is not at all rotating after you fit it in the Gimbal. I tried to call the customer care and sent them emails but nothing is helpful. If you are buying heavy phone like iphone14promax, S22ultra then its a complete No NO guys
