 REVIEW 
 Several changes have been made in the general gameplay of Diablo. The first thing you'll notice is the new interface. The familiar balls of health and mana frame the interface, but now more of the screen is devoted to the game. The text window in the middle of the screen is gone. Now, dialogue from NPCs appears over the respective NPC's head, and item descriptions and text also appear over objects. 

 Another new addition is the stamina bar. One big gameplay change is the ability to run. Now, you can run, but only for limited durations. When you do run, the stamina bar slowly depletes. When it runs out, you need to rest until it starts to fill up again. There will be items and spells that increase your stamina, but running will always be a limited ability. Although running obviously allows you to travel faster, it will leave you more vulnerable to attack, although you can go from run to attack seamlessly, as there is no pause between the two actions. 

 Moving around in Diablo has been improved in other ways as well. To cut down on the tediousness of walking back and forth between cleared-out areas and town, Blizzard North has added waypoints to the game. 

 However, these aren't waypoints in the real-time strategy sense. These waypoints are more like teleportation spots, quick portals between two or more locations in the same act. Each town has a waypoint, and various locations around the wilderness also have waypoints. You won't be able to use a waypoint until you've actually visited it once, and you won't be able to jump through it until you have touched at least two, since this is not a one-way travel system to explore the map. Instead, it's a convenience for moving about already explored areas. 

 The actual development of your character is also different. You now purchase skills via skill points each time you advance a level. In addition, the skill sets of each character are really differentiated, so that the abilities of the characters do not overlap. One other note about character development is that dying causes you to lose experience points. The designers wanted to make death something you would want to avoid even more , so they added experience loss in addition to equipment loss. However, you'll never lose enough experience to drop a level. 

 Not only is development different, but the classes are different as well. There are now five characters to choose from when you play: amazon, barbarian, necromancer, paladin, and sorceress. Each has his or her own strengths and weaknesses, although all should be very different and enjoyable to play. One of the key reasons why Diablo II looks like it will have immense replay value is because of the great differences between classes. 

 Amazon: A good all-around class with some spell use and special physical attacks. She is best with the bow, but also good with the spear and javelin, excelling in long-range attacks. 

 Barbarian: A powerful brute bereft of magic but possessed of potent combat skills. He is the only character that can wield two weapons at once; and this ability is available from level one! 

 Necromancer: A weak character who can command undead minions to aid him. His spells let him animate the dead and enhance their strength. He has some offensive magic. 

 Paladin: This warrior is second in physical strength and the best defensive fighter. He has healing and defensive spells to go with his powerful melee attacks. 

 Sorceress: She is also a weak fighter but possesses the most powerful magic arsenal, complete with fire, cold, and lightning spells. 

 The new trading menu is a big improvement over Diablo, where you had to dump your items on the ground and hope the other player paid you. Now, when you click on another player, you are requesting a trade. If he agrees, a trading window pops up, where you can place your items for trade and he can place his compensation. You both click when you are ready to finalize the transaction. It is not unlike the trading window for EverQuest. 

 Another new feature we noticed but that took us a while to comprehend was the socket items. You'll find weapons, shields, and helms in the game that have sockets in them. You'll also find gems in rare instances in caves and off of dead monsters' bodies. These gems can be placed in the sockets to convey special powers in the items, like the Materia system in Final Fantasy VII. A topaz, for instance, adds lightning damage if you place it in a weapon, but adds lightning resistance if you put it in armor. In our short time playing, we've already seen several different gems, including sapphires, emeralds, diamonds, and jeweled skulls. This adds yet another element to the already rich plethora of items you can find in the game.

The software discs came in the mail as advertised for time required, but the 3rd disc would not install past 80%. I've retried the installation a few times and had no success. The disc appears new with no blemishes, scratches, marks etc. I've visited the Blizzard website and it appears my next option is to download the entire software license from their website as a single file and transfer to my laptop via external HD or stick memory

Diablo 2 CD error

 There are four acts, each with a home base and quest hub that progress a story. As you travel through them, you level up and increase your stats and put points into a skill tree, unlocking more and more powerful abilities. Enemies drop random loot that you can pick up. the beep up your character to offset the increasing difficulty of the game

 once you've made it into hell. That's right, you're the away team for this fight. If you manage to defeat Diablo, you can play through the game on a harder difficulty setting Nightmare. Our monsters and bosses are a lot tougher and your resistances are lowered, making it quite a bit more challenging, but with greater challenge comes greater loot

 Enemies drop random loot that you can pick up. the beep up your character to offset the increasing difficulty of the game. This is probably one of my favorite parts of the game. Running around killing enemies and bosses for the fat Lutz they give you because like most games, how strong your character is as well as how cool you are is vastly determined by your gear

 You play as a new here chasing Diablo one's first hero as I have been corrupted by Diablo soulstone fighting hordes upon hordes of demons, devils and undead along the way, meeting up with old friends and saving a city or two. as you do eventually face off against the Prime Evils, Mephisto and the revived Diablo in this first non expanded version, Start off the game by choosing your class. You have 5 to choose from, each with different skills the hack and slash or cast with there's a paladin who's or as either buck you and your party members or debuff your enemies within range. The Amazon specializes in ranged weapons, bows, javelins and lances, the sorceress that uses ice, fire and lightning magic, the blaster baddies the necromancer that summons his own hordes of minions to attack forum and the epitome of hack and slash in my opinion, the Barbarian able to dual wield weapons and yeah, just run around hacking the crap out of everything in his path

 it's a bit rushed, but it's a good time. Of the seven classes, I chose a Paladin for my grand return to Diablo Ii. This is because for two decades, I've maintained a personal grudge against the dung beetle soldiers in Act Two. You know, the ones that poop lightning when you hit them

 Most building synergetic characters with a regular group is really rewarding, and classes like Paladin and Assassin only reach their full potential in a crew. That said, the loot system is an unreliable and random free-for-all especially in co-op. It assumes that etiquette will prevail and we'll trade items across games and characters to get what we need. The new, larger, shared stash helps you do that, but it still puts you at the mercy of others

 This is because for two decades, I've maintained a personal grudge against the dung beetle soldiers in Act Two. You know, the ones that poop lightning when you hit them. The paladin's lightning resistance aura allows me to laugh in their faces and kill them in humiliating ways. And it's been everything I thought it could be

 This also applies to broken skills like the Amazon's Fend and Druid's Fury. Why are they still in this game? I'm also a little sad to see that Resurrected has retained Diablo 2's Arcane Skill Reset system. You get just one respec per difficulty level, and the only way to get more is by farming the big bosses for rare items and then shoving them in your horadric cube. Unlimited respects outside of ladder play would have been a prime candidate for Overhaul to make Resurrected more accessible to a new generation and mitigate the skill trap issue

Diablo 2: Resurrected Review

 This game is more about your index finger than your brain. This is one reason I prefer strategy games to RPG. It would be more challenging if the quests were a little less straightforward. Give us more people to talk with, who give clues rather than assignments

 This game can be highly addictive, mostly because as you go up in experience, it takes more and more time to elevate to the next level. All RPG players live for that next level, which is a natural stopping point in the game, but as you get higher in DII, you might have to play for a number of hours to get promoted. If it happens to be midnight when you say, "Just one more level and then I'll save," you might find yourself watching the sunrise. Overall, an excellent game that could use more mental challenges and requires a lot of time to play

 It would be more challenging if the quests were a little less straightforward. Give us more people to talk with, who give clues rather than assignments. Make some humans friendly and some hostile, so you have to try to talk with them to get the clues you need, and you never know whether they will attack you or help you. It needs more things to figure out and less mindless hacking of weenie monsters

Excellent game for people with a lot of time on their hands

 There are really just two big problems. First, the game places quantity over quality when it comes to encounters with monsters. After you wade through literally hundreds of creatures, you will likely only remember the tough ones which infrequently appear and the end bosses. Although there are dozens of monster types in the game, they all become rather monotonous after you kill 50 or more of each type

 Most fights are resolved quick and nasty; however, the bosses at the end of each act (there are four acts) are all good fights. Diablo himself is much nastier than he was in the first game. You can hire a NPC to travel and fight with you, which is a nice feature that adds more excitement to the battles. Gameplay is overall quite good for a hack-and-slay action adventure with a sprinkling of roleplaying elements

I had never thought a video game could pull me in to the extent this one has, but I think it's because I'm a writer, and playing The Sims 3 for me is very similar to my storytelling. The difference is that there's a visual element that I can never get with my stories. I've always enjoyed creating characters, telling their stories, and getting to know them; as in my books, I create Sims, give them traits, then put them in a house and get them started on their lives. It was exciting to find that my Sim could be a writer too 

 Apparently it requires a degree in computer programming to defeat; we less-computer-literate types can just have our Sims eye themselves in the mirror and click on said mirror to get the option to change your Sim's looks, whereby you can then give him or her a more appropriate hairstyle.
