We filled it with hot soapy water, rubbed it around bit, the drained it! Easy cleanup! A HUGE plus!

It works for my purposes, but you can't put too much in the basket at once or it just won't fry well. The cleanup is pretty intense too, but anytime you're dealing with oil, you should be prepared to use a lot of soap and hot water to wash it all away properly. At least the fry basket is dishwasher safe, and once the fry oil is disposed of, the oil bucket can be soaked and washed by hand. That leaves just cleaning all the nooks and crannies inside and out of the plastic shell, and the little hidden oil trap in the back, and the filter on top of course

A few problems from the first use . The thermostat on the model we received was not working properly and the unit would not heat past 300 deg. After contacting the MFG. ( we bought it on prime in august 2017 but did not use the fryer until October 2017 so the window for free returns was closed through prime) SO cudos to Presto And Company for reaching out to me after posting my initial review of this unit not living up to its expectations as a deep fryer

I would give this negative stars, but Amazon doesn't have that option. CONS: I read several reviews on here before purchasing, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I made sure that it was cooking at the proper temp as soon as we got it and it seemed OK. After maybe a dozen uses, it won't turn on half the time or takes 20 minutes to turn on

It has a magnetic connector for safety reasons, which is a good thing. I wish they used a longer cord so you do not have to be right next to an outlet to operate.

I would have to store it as well, and I just don’t have the room to do it. I am not interested in storing oil, so my needs are better suited for a smaller fryer and throw out the oil each time. * I write reviews to let you know how this product was for me, and to aid you in your decision to buy or not buy.

Just make sure the plug is securely attached to the fryer before you begin cooking. If you are cooking for a family, you will need two of these fryers going at once. I wish Presto made a larger capacity deep fryer in the Cooldaddy. Overall I love this product, I just wish it was a little larger

Contacted Amazon and they cross shipped a replacement right away (5stars for Amazon service [gave me a rma/shipping label]). Glad to say the new unit, after cleaning etc, heats to temperature in 5 minutes, and food is cooking properly (3-5minutes for crispy fries and tempura). For what it is supposed to do, if you get one that works, it does it well, but is it worth the price that the old unit was sold for? Not in my opinion, it's much cheaper construction and quality control. Will it last as long as the old unit? I seriously doubt it
