frying needs specific temps, so...? As you might guess it is difficult to keep temp spot on like this

I would give this negative stars, but Amazon doesn't have that option. CONS: I read several reviews on here before purchasing, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I made sure that it was cooking at the proper temp as soon as we got it and it seemed OK. After maybe a dozen uses, it won't turn on half the time or takes 20 minutes to turn on

It's the difference between using a "professional" fryer, as opposed to "something that works." I wouldn't tout this as a fryer that can handle 4-5 portions, but 1-2? Absolutely. It can put out a couple of orders of fries, falafels, etc., if your key temp is around 350F

I would have to store it as well, and I just don’t have the room to do it. I am not interested in storing oil, so my needs are better suited for a smaller fryer and throw out the oil each time. * I write reviews to let you know how this product was for me, and to aid you in your decision to buy or not buy.

Photo for size comparison-I have nothing against the Fry Daddy or Grandpappy, other than it has a limited amount of oil you're allowed to put in. Once receiving the product I realized this, did not know this beforehand. My main purpose was to purchase this to deep fry homemade corn dogs. Unfortunately, the way the product works is, to keep the oil evenly temperatureized you can only fill it so far, which is only about 3 in up from the bottom

Contacted Amazon and they cross shipped a replacement right away (5stars for Amazon service [gave me a rma/shipping label]). Glad to say the new unit, after cleaning etc, heats to temperature in 5 minutes, and food is cooking properly (3-5minutes for crispy fries and tempura). For what it is supposed to do, if you get one that works, it does it well, but is it worth the price that the old unit was sold for? Not in my opinion, it's much cheaper construction and quality control. Will it last as long as the old unit? I seriously doubt it
