The DC Kalis Vulc is an all-around great skate shoe and another updated version of a classic. Josh Kalis' first DC shoe was originally released in 1999 and shared the same side panel with the Kalis Vulc, but the similarities stop there. Compared to the Kalis OG, the Kalis Vulc is much thinner, slimmer, and weighs less atop a much simpler vulcanized sole. This shoe is very comfortable and requires virtually no time to break in; it's ready to hit the board straight out of the box. The suede toe is great for flip tricks and held up really well during testing, giving it points in durability. The mesh tongue and collar give it adequate ventilation without sacrificing structure or integrity. The vulcanized sole is very grippy, and the insoles are plush and soft, providing some impact protection and making this one of the most comfortable shoes in the bunch.
The fact that the Kalis Vulc was ready to skate right away is mainly due to the sole being quite thin. However, depending on the type of skating you might be doing, this could also be seen as a negative, as these shoes are not ideal for taking big impacts or being put through heavy abuse. Even though the Kalis Vulc held up pretty well and didn't outwardly show signs of wear for a while, they did lose their shape and get floppy rather quickly. The other main drawback was the lack of lace protection. Even though most of the shoes in our test group do not have protection for the laces, the wider shape of the lace closure makes the laces more likely to get ripped and break easier on this shoe. Overall, the DC Kalis Vulc is a great skate shoe that performs among the best at a price that's a bit less, resulting in a product with strong value.

 Like most of the shoes we tested, these Nikes don't have much ankle support or any lace protection, but since the lace closure tapers toward the toe and sits pretty high up on the foot, we didn't break any of the laces during testing. The only other thing that we find strange is that the toebox feels much wider than the rest of the shoe. They fit correctly and were very comfortable for walking, but the forefoot area felt a bit too roomy and loose while skating. We did have to size up to US Men's 8

 It'S also got it down here as well, so there is venting all over the shoe, and that is extremely nice. If you like your feet to breathe a lot, because i kind of have sweaty and gross feet, so that helps a lot with these another thing like i pointed it is suede and it is a mid-top. So if you like mid-top shoes, this is a durable one. If you do a lot of flip tricks, it grips the board

 Uh skated adidas use with uh with those foam cushions in there yeah these insoles uh. What they call g6 polyurethane, i believe, are in the america pillars. I think that's what was on the website. They, i'm not gon na lie it every time i landed wrong

 These are not actually the laces that came with the shoes. These ones were torn up kind of see right there, so we replaced these and the replacement ones are also tearing up. Another thing is the heel. This started coming off right at the end of the shoe's life, and this uh could be fixed but um when something like this happens

 The flick that these shoes had was great and the way that this suede and this rubber gripped the board. It was durable and it still flicked really well another thing i like about this shoe: it has a lot of ventilation. It'S got this type of venting on both sides. It'S also got it yeah

Emerica Pillar Shoe Review

 Would i do like that the pillar has this desert tread um and it's got like the see-through america graphic on the bottom of the shoe. I know it's on the bottom of the shoe, but i like it also. The shoe comes with the g6 foam technology insole on the inside, so that's even more protection for impact and for your heels, typically i'll. Do the wear test for like a day or two, and it's definitely come to my attention that you can't really get a solid opinion about a shoe in just two days, so this one we're gon na be doing a little bit different

 I, like the slim, fit shoes um and again this is the first time i'm skating mids in my life. So i will give you guys an honest opinion of what i think about these shoes, but first the best wear test is to skate them. So, let's do that: [, Music, ], so [, Music, ], so [, Music, ], [, Music, ], so [, Music, ], [, Music, ], [, Music, ]! All right! I'Ve been skating, the pillar for exactly 17 days. Now sorry, i'm at the skate park

 It is not going to stink as bad as the half cap is because, let's be real with each other, if you guys know anybody that skates half caps when they come over your house, you ask them to leave their shoes on, because you know it's not going To be pretty, the pillar also feels more more durable than the half cap, even though the pillar is very flexible it. It feels like it's a bit stronger, like the the half cap kind of just melts, where the pillar actually molds, and that makes me feel like the pillar is gon na, have a lot better board, feel um and will last a bit longer than a half cap.  There is one thousand percent more support and padding around the ankle on the pillar than there is on the half cap. Also, i don't see any perforations for breathability or ventilation in the half cab at all, so at least with the pillar after you're skating it for a few weeks.  Obviously, there's some support near the ankle that i'm not used to feeling it does feel like a slim fit shoe. It doesn't feel like it's too poofy or thick around, like the base of the shoe, which is to me that's a benefit, i'm not somebody that likes those big poofy shoes. I, like the slim, fit shoes um and again this is the first time i'm skating mids in my life. So i will give you guys an honest opinion of what i think about these shoes, but first the best wear test is to skate them
