The short handle bothered me and it felt very tip heavy. Lots of people recommend it, but I personally wasn't a fan. I upgraded to a Daiwa Tatula 7'3" MH and I haven't used it yet, but it already know it feels a lot better in my hands. You can also look at the Daiwa Tatula Elite, but it uses the same blank as the regular Tatula and it wasn't worth the extra money for me

MH Spinning Rod Suggestions

 You get the same 90 millimeter swept handle, same knobs, same bearing count at seven plus one bearings. It's kind of disappointing. They should have given it more for you know, an extra 80 bucks. and of course all tattoo Lazar made in Thailand And yeah, that's kind of ridiculous that a $240 reel is not made in Japan but it is what it is

 so I wonder why Daiwa decided to call this the Elite instead of giving it the HLC designation. Oh well. Okay, so the Iowa said that they significantly lightened the spool of the Elite by using a higher grade aluminum the A 707 5 and as you can see here, for some reason, they didn't give it any kind of portholes so they didn't drill any kind of holes to lighten it up. Feels relatively light I can tell the difference there when I'm holding it versus the 100

 Yep, die. We'll hit it right on the money. Six point, Seven, Two five. So despite giving the Elite and aluminum handle side plate, they still managed to make it lose some weight

 Okay, so the original type-r weighs in at can't remember the weight seven point seven ounces. so not too bad, but kind of heavy by today's standards. And then the CT type bar weighs in seven point three ounces. And of course with the CT type bar

Spooled up with 20lb Fluorocarbon and put on a St Croix Legend Tournament Bass Sweeper. It casted just as well as the Curado DC I had bought the same weekend. Reeled in a 1/2oz spinnerbait smoothly feeling very solid. I did catch a nice bass

Daiwa Tatula. Under 200, casts great, solid drag. Hard to find a better real at the price point in my opinion.

So I have a couple spinning real setups, but have started to realize a baitcaster setup with a little higher gear ratio could really help get the most out of some of the lures and tackle I want to use this spring and summer.

Any recommendations on rod/reels or combos? I don’t mind spending a little money for good quality but don’t want to break the bank.

Honestly Lew's aren't bad but I'd go with a daiwa tatula for around that price. Trust me when I say you'll thank me later.

 I will always go after the Elite here because of its overall performance and weight. Next would be the 200s The Curado K* has a nice wide lure range as well as being a phenomenal caster.

If you want more line capacity, at the 150 size, the Tatula Elite* (best distance caster in the 150 class), Tatula 150* (highest drag range and no slouch at casting), Curado/SLX DC*, and the SLX XT* are all great choices. This would be a great compromise between the two fish species. I will always go after the Elite here because of its overall performance and weight. Next would be the 200s The Curado K* has a nice wide lure range as well as being a phenomenal caster

I want to retire my old Okuma Tormenta and I am looking to buy a nice reel. I mainly throw baits between 0.35 ounces (10grams) up to 1.4-1.7oz(40-50grams) and I mainly catch small pike (under 6-8lbs). 

The budget is around 370ish $

What I found was:

* Abu Revo MGX2 and Revo MGXExtreme
* Abu Revo Beast
* Daiwa Tatula (200HL/100/200HSL/Elite100HL)
* Shimano Tranx 201
* Metanium DC (a bit expensive but I might save up some more)

I want something that can handle medium to large baits, but it's not complete crap and break on me. So from the list what do you recommend to be an all round good reel?

Baitcasters are kind of limited in my country (EU), so ordering from US/JP would result in higher costs for me.

Best Baitcasting Reel EVER or Overhyped? Shimano Curado DC Reel Review

Awesome reel. I have it three stars on light weight because that it is not. However I still have three stars because it’s not supposed to be. Now don’t think it’s gonna feel like having a huge rock on your pole but the little extra weight is WELL worth having that breaking system inside

 I'm gonna take this jig, make a cast. Threw that thing on our 25 yards. No issues. Super smooth, really comfortable in the hand

 one is going to be the least amount of resistance, two is gonna be your braid setting. If you're throwing braids or mono, this is the setting you want to be on, Three is gonna be your fluorocarbon setting, and four that is your most breaking system that's going to be skipping. that's going to be casting light baits into the wind, so it's very easy. one through four depending on what your reel is, what your reel is spooled with, and the baits you're throwing

 So I'm going to spool these up I'm gonna show you guys some close-up shots of some of the key features. I'm gonna go make some casts and you guys keep an ear out for that. That notorious that DC Sound Let's go make some casts. Alright guys! I Spool up this first DC This Corrado DC with 65 pound max Quatro Braid I Tied on a frog and paired that up with the X Pride 7/3 extra-heavy This is a fantastic frog rod

 Conditions: skipping light baits, casting live baits in the low end, that's gonna be your setting. So let's start with 4. I'm gonna take this jig, make a cast. Threw that thing on our 25 yards

Shimano Curado 150 DC : An In-Depth Look

 That’s game over with any other baitcaster I’ve owned. The only negative I have is that the Curado DC 150 lettering came off after about 3 uses. Like it was water color paint or something cheap. Nobody’s perfect so I give it a 5 star since I’ve never caught a fish by how cool my reel looked

 However, I easily pulled out the backlash. I also hit some tall weeds accidentally on a cast and was impressed that I was able to easily get that backlash out also. That’s game over with any other baitcaster I’ve owned. The only negative I have is that the Curado DC 150 lettering came off after about 3 uses

I’ve had several low profile baitcasters, but this is my favorite performing yet. Super easy to adjust the spool brake by selecting settings 1 - 4. The spool tensioner is similarly easy to adjust because it doesn’t have to be as exact for each lure like with other baitcasters. I adjusted mine one time and just change the brake settings depending on how heavy/arrow dynamic a lure is

 I threw out a lure and let it hit without thumbing the spool to see the result. Most fisherman would tell You that line is done and you are cutting it off spool because it’s so backlashed if you do this. However, I easily pulled out the backlash. Is the curado dc worth it over the slx dc? I've heard the only major difference is the gears and I'm not sure that reeling a bit smoother can justify the price difference. 2. Is there any major reason to pick the dobyns fury over the st Croix bass x or vice versa?

 That when I learned the drag on this reel at 11 pounds suck!!!!. At $249.00 it might make a high priced crappie rig. If Shimano ever makes an upgraded drag too 15 -17 pounds let me know
