I will be doing more fishing line reviews as well as terminal tackles such as swivels, bait clips, and many more.

Can I recommend this? I do. That's why I feel it's important to know the actual break test (not the advertised specs) of lines so i can use them where it seems fit for purpose.
I only use 15-20lbs lines, with 18 lbs as my personal "sweet spot," as I believe this is sufficient for most fish species that I can catch from the shore.

Now this line might not have reached my 15-20lbs preference, but I will be using this for my light lure fishing so I believe it is sufficient.

Daiwa J Braid Grand 19lbs / 8.5kg Fishing Line Review

 Hello fishing buddies, today we'll be talking about the 19lbs Daiwa J Braid Grand fishing

 So when I reviewed the Daiwa J Braid Grand fishing line, I had the 35lbs multicolored

 I was so impressed with it that I decided to use a lighter version of it to replace

 Click the tab on the upper right corner to view my review of the 35lbs multicolored version

 And like almost every braided fishing line, this one has no memory.

 This is advertised to be 0.13mm in diameter.

 Using my cheap caliper, this line measures to 0.09mm in diameter.

 Moving on to the UV torch night visibility test, compared to the multicolored version,

 It really makes the line stand out during the night versus using a standard torch.

 Moving on to testing the actual break test, again, this is rated to have a break test

 I have tied a length of this line with swivels at both ends and attaching those to my caliber

 (Tested 8 times and scale was checked for accuracy) I was very surprised because Diawa J-braid Grand x8 has a great reputation for having actual breaking strengths well in excess of rated strength. 6 lb line breaks at 5 lbs

J Braid Grand gives greater distance than most premium brands (Berkley X9 is equal), with less maintenance and greater strength. I’ve tried Spider wire, Kanzen, X9, regular J braid, Smackdown, PowerPro, PowerPro SS v1, and Kastking braided lines to name several and the new J Braid Grand x8 is the overall best thus far.

 Note that I do not splice. I tie 6 turn (triple) surgeons knot loop for looped fly line or a simple albright for a line without loops. No need to splice for me. For fly backing, I see no benefit to splicing

I used this to back my saltwater fly reels as 20 lb dacron breaks at 11 lbs and 30 breaks around 18 lbs. I use 20 lb leader for some species and want my backing to be stronger than the fly line and leader. 8 wt fly line breaks around 27 lbs of force. I use this 60 lb hollow core and it not only out performs dacron, it also wont cut your hands like 4 or 8 strand braid or gel spun
