These Speakers Look Pretty Decent, But Super Short Cords Make Arranging Difficult-But For $10 It Could Be Worse -Grade C!

Updated: Initially, the speakers were too bassy. These speakers were for my computer. I looked for an equalizer software app for the computer, so I could adjust the treble up. Realtek Audio is supposed to be on Windows 10 but I didn't have it, so I downloaded it

 Didn't expect these to be great, not even good, considering the price by I was surprised by just how cheap they sound. I'm guessing there is a scrawny little one inch speaker inside each enclosure. If you only have one PC (or one set of speakers) don't get these because you will be replacing them after a week or two. I'm only keeping them because hooking them up and routing the wires was enough work that it's not worth it to get another cheap set just to learn they don't sound any better

 I gave it 4 stars because if you hook it up to the Eris Bluetooth speakers, the sub WILL NOT work via Bluetooth even though the speakers will.

Massive bass

 After initially giving up the Presonus, I decided to tweak the bass and treble levels and man, did that do wonders. Out of the box these do not sound flat, there is a definite V shape to the sound. When I lowered the bass and treble I was honestly shocked that the Eris 3.5s were actually starting to sound nearly as good as the Genelecs when listening to uncompressed music files

 The Presonus, on the other hand, have a slightly exaggerated bass that tends to feel a bit muddy at the default settings. This can be tweaked, which I realized during my next comparison.  Currently I'm working with a pair of Genelec 8030a monitors. When I first A/B these to the Eris 3

I'll keep this one short and sweet.  I had these monitors for about a year and listen to music on them every so often and have used them on for audio mixes for video editing. I had the chance to A/B these against two other pairs of studio monitors since, as a professional tv/film editor, I had a couple rented pairs loaned to me for a couple projects.  Up against the M-Audio BX5s these were my preferred speakers

  Currently I'm working with a pair of Genelec 8030a monitors. When I first A/B these to the Eris 3.5's I have to admit, I immediately was ready to sell these. The Genelecs just sound so good for small studio monitors but you're paying a hell of a lot more

Needs some tweaking but it's a solid performer for the price.

 So I can stream music off YouTube and practice new songs for my band or just work on new original songs for my other project. The PreSonus Eris E3.5 ROCKS my world in a big way. The speakers have great bass response for just small speakers, I can even practice bass guitar playing or just check out new music on YouTube

 I will have to say PreSonus, you hit another one out of the ball park with this package. Great Job guys!! Oh, by the way shipping was killer too, very fast and nice people as always. Thanks Amazon! :)

 They are a very good balanced mix on all music and great dynamics too! I have to say have to watch the output level cause they do get very loud, but keep the music clear and focused with no distortion at all. I just can't believe PreSonus small footprint of desktop computer speakers system can sound this good. Well they hold up, that's still to be seen but so far all my PreSonus speakers are doing great, it's a great company. My drummer own there recording software and loves it

PreSonus Eris E3.5 Rock my world!

 Then I found out that some some of my music sounds extremely good on these. I was surprised. So I canceled the return and now trying to figure out if I keep them or not. I am starting to see what people like about these speakers

 Nothing to write home about. Bass: Lacking. Good enough for most music genres ,but if you're into electronic , you might feel the bass is lacking. It's there, just not the soft wrapping bass you know sound systems with big speakers or 2

Quality speakers with limited bass

 I also have a pair of Edifier R1280T's, which are definitely *not* "studio monitors" and are intentionally trying to create a warm, bass-heavy sound, and I almost just bought another pair of those. I like them, for the price. But these Presonus speakers are not too terribly different, although they do have a little more midrange. But they also have decent bass for their size, and good treble

 Many manufacturers will make a pair of small speakers that are pretty mid-rangey, without much bass *or* treble but also without a lot of distortion, shrug their shoulders and label them "studio monitors". Speakers like that are usually "fine" but neither do they have character (as studio monitors shouldn't) but they also don't sound very pleasing to the ear.  These speakers *sound* better than most "studio monitors" in that they actually have a little bit of bass and treble and they're not intending - or maybe just not succeeding at - being truly flat. But if they're not succeeding at it, they're not succeeding in a pleasing way

This is a $99 pair of studio monitors. Don't expect them to have "reference" quality as far as studio monitors go, which are a specific type of speaker intended to have a truly flat frequency response so studio engineers and producers can hear any changes they make to a mix precisely. The best studio monitors go for many thousands of dollars per pair.  When I see a cheap pair of studio monitors like this, what I immediately think of is "flat sound"

Looks 9/10 Materials 7/10 Sound quality 8/10 Bass 7/10 Volume 8/10 Setup 6/10  The sound quality is pretty decent until you go up in volume - it seems a little weak on top and bottom at the highest volume levels. Overall bass is not bad, but not spectacular. I wonder how accurate the sound really is.  The overall appearance and construction look pretty good but the materials aren't particularly high-end

I like the size and they can rock out the room too and it's a quality sound. I almost gave them 4 stars for Sound Quality but they are much closer to perfection than 80% and I like to be objective most times but you gotta think of it this way. I really like them and are they the JBL ProLine $1500 each. No but they are pretty nice
