I got this as a secondary table to my trusty Technics SL-3100. It seemed like a good price for a new turntable with similar customizable speed, tonearm balancing, etc.  Out of the box, the speed was too fast at the "0" position on the slider. I had to slow it to -2 but have since played with the speed pot on the underside to dial it in

  To conclude, I feel like with a little work, an experienced user can get ok results out of the C100. It's easy to dial in the correct speed and the tonearm is at least mostly balanceable, minus anti-skating. The sound quality of the included cartridge and preamp is actually quite good, in my opinion, making this a possible candidate for an affordable secondary table.  I wouldn't recommend this table to a beginner as it needs far too much twiddling with out of the box

Has Quirks, Needs Work but NOT TERRIBLE

 You've got speed selector switch, and then a variety of outputs, both amplified and non-amplified. And it's just a great, great turntable. Sounds wonderful. I really look forward to using this

 And conversely, if the light was going to the left like this, that means that it's going a little too fast. And that you would need to adjust the pitch slider up, and you would therefore get a slower speed and dial it right in. So this one is set just perfectly, because it is in the zero position to get that speed. So there you go

 So, remember those dots along the side of the platter? They allow us to check the appropriate speed of the turntable to make sure it's set exactly, to be able to dial it in. Okay guys, do you see that dot right there? Not the big one on the lower level, but that one right there? That's the one we're looking at for this record. When you're using a 45, you're going to look at a different level. But for a 33, that's where you look, right there

 Wait a minute. Here's the answer to all those problems.

 The totally new, totally different, Crosley.

 So see the sensational new Crosley this week at your Crosley dealers.

 We are going to be unboxing and reviewing the Crosley C100 2-speed stereo turntable.

 Alright guys, this is Crosley's entry-level high-end turntable.

 So if you want to get serious about vinyl quality, sound quality, durability,

 MSRP on this thing is about $200, but you can get it for a lot less on Amazon.

 This turntable has a built-in phono preamp.

 If you don't have a separate preamp, you can use the built-in one.

 The reason why that's important is this turntable features

 an Audio-Technica cartridge and stylus that is a magnetic cartridge.

 So unlike a lot of the other entry-level equipment where they use a ceramic cartridge,

 Magnetic produces less voltage than a ceramic cartridge

 and therefore needs more amplification for you to hear it.

 The ceramic ones are a bit more abrasive, but they do output a higher amount of voltage,

 Now, I don't know if it'll show up very well,

 but something you'll see on all of these Crosley boxes,

 and yeah, it's not showing up, but very faintly,

 very faintly on the top there is written the history of Crosley,

 Something you need to check out if and when you buy a Crosley piece of equipment.

 Okay, so we're going to go ahead and unbox it to begin with,

 and we'll get right into it and see what we got here.

 Super excited, this will be a lot of fun.

 Open up big box, not much room, so I apologize,

 but I don't have a whole lot of space to do this.

 and as I always say, that's a very important thing,

 because if you've got something worth protecting,

 On top here we have the Crosley slip mat,

 so there that is, we'll go ahead and set that aside for right now,

 and everything is bracketed with this styrofoam end pieces here,

 Okay, there's a platter, metal as you can hear.

 All righty, so now let's set it back down,

 and we'll ease off styrofoam on the end piece.

 Okay, so the dust cover is packed in completely separate there,

 and then gently take off the styrofoam on the end there.

 You guys ever notice when you unpack something

 and you try to put the styrofoam packing material back in the box

 how it ever fits, even without the product?

 Okay, notice there, accessory, don't throw it away

 because there's something worth keeping in there,

 and very much there is, so let's go ahead and see what is here.

 This is tone-arm counterweight, 45 spacer, it looks like.

 the cartridge head shell stylus assembly, Audio Technica.

 It is replaceable, so if you need to replace it down the road, you can,

 and something else in there as well, so it looks like an RCA cable.

 and our warranty card and instruction booklet,

 which will show you how to do everything from setting it up and operation as well.

 So we'll set that aside and refer to it as needed.

 In the meantime, we'll continue to unpack the turntable.

 And I will have to say this, guys, I am extremely impressed so far.
