The knife is perfect, the sheath is very good (this is really a 4.5 star here). The knife is damn sharper out of the box then most knives I have ever bought (Esee, Case, Kabar, Sergio Consoli, Cold Steel, Marfione, Schrade) and feels great in the hand. IF the sheath had been wider to accommodate more belt lock holes to provide a better range of carry, THAT would be a 5!

People may argue with me, but the Spyderco Knives are the bombest knifes you can buy on that scale! I know there are custom nights out there that you can have made, but for a production run knife, Spyderco has to feel and the quality as far as I'm concerned, and are the best at that price point! I have several myself, I have to say the paramilitary 2 is my favorite! Thanks for sharing.

It is not a toolbox knife, or a display knife, not a pocket knife, not something to open boxes with or to whittle, not for cutting 550 cord or any other purpose except for destruction in combat. It just feels that is the singular purpose that it was designed for. Not a do everything knife, not a knife to toss into a bag. Not an EOTW or a SHTF knife

to me it's the grip, if you have trouble fitting a knife in your hand for whatever the reason..

Spyderco Amalgam, the one I got was pretty awful. Poor ergonomics due to the wide but thin handle, gritty bearings, worst of all was the weak detent.

Good size. Not too big, great weight. The pricetag is what kept me from buying this years ago.

One of the best features for my purposes is the extremely light weight of this very workmanlike and capable blade, along with the threaded inserts for positioning the pocket clip to the most favorable location on the scales. All in all, I would say that if you're looking for a knife that can do it all with style, the Amalgam is the one.

How will I use this knife? Probably to help friends with prep work in their kitchens at get togethers and cookouts, as this is as fine a cutter as you will ever get at this price point.
