Cooler Master NR200P Max vs Corsair Obsidian Series 1000D

Gutted my NZXT H200 to transplant into this Cooler Master NR200P. Made a substantial bracket to hold an ATX power supply, unlike the usual cable tie/velcro bodge jobs that we've all seen -. \- Ryzen 5 3600 with Be Quiet Dark Rock 4 cooler and 2x Arctic P12's (intake from rear).

I installed an ATX motherboard just to give you a reference point at how big that interior is. We have so much space above and in front of the motherb...

Cheap: NR200(P). Good aesthetics, supports ATX power supplies, 20-25L, good airflow, super easy to build in. It's just an all around good, cheap case.

This is very similar to what i'm thinking to do if i don't get the NR200P Max! Same cpu, same mb type, same fans everywhere. Even ram and storage, the things i already bought, are exactly the same capacity :D Very nice!

The end of the metal frame is bent inwards slightly as shown in the picture. I haven't encountered problems while plugging and unplugging USB devices, albeit carefully, into the jack multiple times over the past couple of weeks, so I didn't deduct a star or try to get it replaced. I'm optimistic that it'll stay as-is and not get bent worse over time. If this is a problem in manufacturing, hopefully Cooler Master can address this issue

Although I can't be certain, it was in the box and Styrofoam was around it when it came, so it leads me to believe that it happened during production, rather than shipping.

Having dabbled a little in SFF builds in the past several years, I want to express the lack of real benefit to most buyers for this style case, beyond operating temperatures. Most people would still be better off with a compact ATX or MATX case, either of which can certainly be built for less money. Tower style SFF cases, such as the NZXT H1 make a lot more sense for small form factor, if desk space savings is your aim. The footprint of the CM NR200 series still takes up a fair amount of room comparitively

The $99 Zalman case this replaced had 3. 3. Cabling shroud is not adequately sized for the amount of wiring required to light this case up. If the engineering team took the cable bundle and measured it's circumference the shroud would have been bigger

I think the community has been waiting for something affordable like this for a long time. For me, aesthetics was something I really wanted to do, so I went with a Lian Li TU150 instead.

Awesome now that's its done but this was by far the absolute worst building experience ever the commander pro is adhesived in bottom on the case in plain site took quite some sound doing to pry it up and stick in the back where it belongs OUT OF SITE be careful when you're doing that i almost broke the thing are you kidding me corsair why am i spending so much on a gorgeous case so i can have a mess of wires out out on display for everyone to see that aside it there isnt enough room on the back side to hide cables spent over an hour and half trying different routing to get it to all fit and im still not happy with it luckily i cant see it on my desk. Those 2 incredibly poor design problems aside the case is beautiful and feels very premium i love the magnetic doors not having to unscrew something when i need to get inside the case front panel io is great one think is did add anyway would should be there in the first place is and extention to the psu cover so it spans the whole length of case looks way nicer. Apologies for my overly excessive rant above to summarize if you can handle some frustration with routing cables and you can pry up the commander off that tar strip its on then go for it its great when its all done otherwise do yourself a favor and get nzxt or fractal they know what they're doing

Overall this is a great little chassis. No annoying/ugly branding, very svelte and nice looking. Cozy inside. High quality construction overall

But I assume Corsair has done their due diligence with shock, vibe and drop testing. I'll start with my issues, and why 3 stars. Could have easily been 5. It boils down to 2 things: First is a quality control issue with Corsair
