Cooler Master MP510 vs SteelSeries Qck Medium

I've been waiting months for a well-trusted brand to release a wireless lightweight ergonomic mouse, so I'm hyped that Cooler Master finally stepped up. The mouse has very impressive features, but what I'm excited for is the shape.

While I'm sure this pad would still be profitable at a lower price, I feel good about giving a company $10 for such a well-thought-out product. I have only used this product for a few weeks, so I cannot speak to its long-term durability, though it certainly seems resilient so far. I will update this review if and when it degrades. One final thought - I usually dislike visible branding on my products, even stylish branding like the logo on Apple laptops, but I don't mind the logo on this pad

The one huge negative about the MP511 is the packaging. The mousepad comes extremely tightly rolled up and is extremely hard to get to lay flat. I've tried text books from my college days laid on top of the mousepad for 48 hours and still the ends blow upward off my desk. The only other thing I can try is to take a towel on top of the pad and crank an iron up high to heat transfer to the pad and maybe loosen the rubber base to train it flat

I knocked off two stars due to the way it's packaged. It comes rolled up tight in a cardboard cube, ensuring it will never sit flat ever again on at least one of its edges.

I got the MP511 in XL, and it is been a massive step up from any cloth pad that I have used previously. The surface is a lot faster than your average cloth pad, but I found that for me, the real benefit was in consistency. Due to several factors cloth pads can change in feel over time, and even different sections of a cloth pad can feel different based on usage. With the cordura surface of the MP511, every inch of the pad feels identical, and the pad doesn't get affected by humidity

This provides extra comfort and support when gaming, but there is another reason as well. I find that thicker pads are really good for those that mayb...

Only cons: Those with high sensitivity NEED to turn it down for this, you will absolutely fly all over the place. Lastly, the material can cause minor irritation from rubbing on any skin you typically contact with your mouse pad. I've adjusted my posture and no longer have this issue.

It came rolled up in a steelseries box with a little opening for people to feel the pad. The pad is rough no getting around it. Surely, it couldn't have started off this way? Did it get too hot in some run-down warehouse or something and partially melt? It has gotten slightly smoother with use but still feels rough. Steelseries logo isn't peeling but is wrinkled in places
