Condor Mini Hudson Bay Knife Fixed Blade Walnut vs SOG Field Knife

Love the knife but had a warranty issue and Condor told me not covered under lifetime warranty because Amazon is not an Authorized dealer.

Now the knife. I bought this for self defense, if ever needed it'll do the job intended. It doesn't come very sharp and in my opinion doesn't sharpen very well. Handle feels nice in the hand for intended purpose

If you can make a few small improvements yourself, its worth the money for what you get.

The blade is dull so get yourself a good sharpening stone to hone the blade. For the price, it's a good knife but the sheath is still very important.

The sheathe is definitely thick leather, the handle looks old(in a good way) and the thickness suggests it can take a beating, it is high carbon(rusting made that fairly obvious as did the paper stating how to care for it) so again it should be up for some punishment. Just fyi: my picture showing the rust on the edge also looks like the cheek is rusted too but that part is just lighting.

I love the sheath. The retention is perfect. The knife stays firmly in place and it's quick and easy to deploy. Doesn't feel stuck like some Schrades do with similar sheaths

Sheath is obviously made for a much smaller knife. In my case its no biggie as I make knives as well as sheaths and just went to the shop and bang issue over. However this doesn't let Condor off the hook for being sub par on their quality control. Seems Condor keeps inching up their prices and inversely inching down their Q

Condor Knife and Tool has been around since the 1700s and makes some of the best knives for actual hard use. If you bought it as a "SHOW" piece to put on your shelf, go buy a POS Spyderco. You had no reason to rate this knife 2 out of 5 stars, if you didn't like it because it wasn't a shiny knife to put in your display case you could have just sent it back.

Had this Knife almost (1) year. Have not used it for any outdoor/ bush/ camping activities yet so can't rate on that. Just been sitting in my Diving Backpack and considering to use it in my Diving activities but don't know if the steel will hold up (won't rust). At 1st glance, the knife feels like it's a Young Boy's knife (still feel that way)

Tough, rugged knife, 4 stars because the handle is a little shorter than it should be, and of course the sheath with most Condors is just so/so

always a plus. The handle is the most comfortable design ive ever held, even though it could be longer by a half an inch. (I have large hands) The rubberized handle is very grippy, and a joy to work with. At 30 bucks its a true bargain ! SOG ! if youre listening, please take this exact design and enlarge it to a 5 and a half or 6 inch blade, with the handle expanded to 5 or 5 and a half inches
