 is a gem (this is a recent purchase, and I recommend, in for a penny in for a pound, get the "grippy" Horween leather add-on). Both are in near-waterproof X-pac material. Neither of these are cheap, but the quality is so legit.

I've been looking at slings for a while now but have yet to pull the trigger on one.  I rocked a fanny pack as a kid in the 80s/early 90s but never looked back once I grew out of it.  I struggle a bit with the whole man purse vibe TBH.  As a dad though I frequently find myself in the need for something more than what my pockets can comfortably accommodate without going full blown backpack.  So my question is this for you sling folk:

If you were trying to convert someone to sling bags, which one would you have them try and why?  What sling made you a believer?

A sling to convert a non-slinger

 I Think it just adds to the overall aesthetic of the pack. Nice that it's kinda got this hole in there. They Look pretty minimal and almost like, kinda sci-fi-ish. And Then on the sides here we have YKK buckles

 So Kinda similar to what we have in the back here with that lockable zipper. Got that going on, self-locking zipper. That's a good compartment for headphones or just kinda smaller items that you wanna keep separate from the rest of the bag. And Then you have some YKK buckles going on at the end of the strap here as well that manages the compressing and uncompressing of the front part of this sling bag

 So We have them all in the middle here. There's just kind of a lot going on and it's hard to tell which zipper belongs to which zip. (upbeat funk music) At The time of this review, Mark and I have been testing the CODEOFBELL X-Pod over the course of one month in Detroit and Chicago. Overall We really like the look and feel, all of these smart features going on that allow us to customize the sling based on our needs for carry for that day

Kicking it off with the
material and aesthetic,

there is a lot going on
with this sling bag here.

definitely seems like a lot
and a bit confusing at first,

but everything here has
a very specific function.

And we're going to get
into every last detail

From a branding perspective
there's a simple black-on-black

and then we have them
on the buttons as well.

Also on the Hypalon pulls,
the Hypalon zipper pulls,

On the other side we have
the small logo mark as well.

So from a branding perspective,
definitely like that.

Not a ton going on and
overall it's pretty minimal.

there is just one more
place for a logo here

on the interior of this front compartment.

it's important to note that
these compression straps

still functions with these

Doesn't mean that the
whole sling is waterproof,

since there is some other
materials and zippers going on.

but it is a highly weather resistant sling

The only thing is that it's a
little bit easier to puncture

than say something like
1680D ballistic nylon,

there's is a diamond
ripstop going on here,

as well as a square grid ripstop as well.

will not spread due to
the engineering and design

the X-Pod is available in
three different colors.

So wrapping up the rest of the materials,

so I'm gonna try blast
through this pretty quickly.

There is ballistic nylon going on up here,

there is a polyester
and ripstop nylon liner

kind of sandwiched together
along with the X-Pac fabric.

We have grippy Hypalon grab
points here at the bottom,

grippy rubbery feel on the
places that you need it the most.

REVIEW: HEIMPLANET SLING POCKET XL

 In my hometown i carry a Code of Bell X-Pod but as much as i love all of it i cant use it for travel its just too big and bulky and u just cant pack it inside a bigger bag without filling half of the bag instantly.

The Code of Bell Xpak is a contender as I'm looking for a bag with a bright inner liner, water bottle pocket and good internal and external organisation.

You can use it in the traditional flap down mode, or close the bag with the roll-top configuration for more space. The laptop pocket is fully waterproof &mdash; accommodating up to a 15" laptop &mdash;  and the flap-down closure provides an extra layer of security. The burly 1000d fabric and weatherproof liner make this bag a great option for anyone who's tough on their gear and needs protection from inclement weather.
There are a couple of drawbacks to this otherwise well-designed bag. For starters, the Monty does not have a padded laptop compartment; you can use a laptop case, but then you will need to store your computer in the main compartment of the bag. The cargo pockets are the perfect size for a mini U-lock, but the flap is too tight for a perfect seal over the lock &#40;we used an old mini ABUS U-lock&#41;, causing the flap to close asymmetrically over the top. Not a deal-breaker, but a little clunky for an otherwise flawless bag. The shoulder strap is not also ambidextrous, which is a bummer for left-handed folks. Finally, if you are a person who craves abundant pockets for organizing an array of gear, the Monty offers fewer pockets than other packs. However, for the minimally-minded bike commuter who wants exceptional craftsmanship and a durable weatherproof messenger bag, this U.S.-made beauty is hard to beat.
