Clever Dripper vs Hario V-60 Coffee Dripper

I preferred the pour over every time. The best way I can explain it is the pour over always emphasized a little more of the coffee's intrinsic "brightness", while the Clever tended to greatly lack this by comparison and slightly overemphasize oily flavors. A B+ at best to the Hario's solid A. The Clever may be better for entertaining a large group due to its convenience for brewing larger batches

The other thing I found is that I wanted to just sit, sip,and appreciate it. I use a coffee that is roasted here in town. It is more expensive than the canned at the store, but it is a lot more satisfying. So

Just right for my taste buds. Cleanup is a breeze compared to the French press. I use approximately 27 g of coffee to 425 g of water. The device won't hold much more liquid than that

Better machine for my purposes, and drip is enough less hassle for a decent quantity brew before I'm quite functional yet!. Later on in the afternoons and/or evenings is when I will break out the Aeropress or Clever Dripper and some interesting specialty beans, generally just for my own more leisurely enjoyment. Sometimes a moka pot or French press, if I feel like dealing with a tad more cleanup. Actually looking forward to that little "me time" routine even more now!

I think that is where I am seeing the difference between the Aeropress and this. This is a finicky coffee maker. But, it is completely within the realm of the average person, if you are willing to commit a bit more to the process than slamming a K-cup into a machine, and pushing a button. It requires attention to the timing, pace, and manner in which you pour the water over the grounds

I'd just let it sit inside and let the hot water remove some of the leftover coffee smell. - Try to clean the CCD with hot water as much as possible if you have to rinse it right after a brew. I like this because I can get a nice, hot cup whereas with machines (uhm, hello Keurig) the temperature is not optimal even on the hottest setting, especially if you want to use cream. Pour overs in general are not the most convenient option and a tad of prep is needed but it’s worth it.
