 The only minor nitpick negative I can think of is the zippers don't have metal pull tabs as you would expect. The pull is via cords, and I'm not sure how long they'll stay on, but I'd be careful not to pull on them too hard. Overall I would highly recommend picking one up!

Great everyday backpack for school/work.

I've been on the search for an affordable, commuter-friendly backpack and this is the one! I love that it has a good amount of structure and the straps are very supportive. It is also very water-resistant, so I don't have to worry about my laptop or papers getting wet. This has been very comfortable to wear as a petite person!

To finish up this section, we also want to point out the water bottle pockets you’ll find on both sides of the bag. We’ve been able to fit a Hydro Flask Standard-Mouth Water Bottle with Flex Cap 21 oz inside, but it’s a tight fit. Like we touched on earlier, we have to fight against this fabric to get anything larger inside, as it’s not elasticated or very flexible. 

The bag’s back panel has some even denser padding in a honeycomb-like design that keeps you comfortable while also allowing air to circulate, so you’re not getting too sweaty. As we noted above, the bag’s material keeps it well-structured, which has helped make for a comfortable, supported carry. 

That said, they’ve still been performing nicely and haven’t let any moisture inside near our gear so far. We’ve also run into instances of water-resistant zippers getting stuck, especially around corners. On the contrary, while these zippers aren’t offering the same level of protection, they’ve been smoothly gliding open and closed since we started testing. 

You’ll find some robust YKK zippers on the Hondo that have been working well so far during testing. We would’ve liked to see an AquaGuard zipper or two to echo the water-resistant properties of the material, especially because of the restriction that the Tarpaulin causes with packing out the bag. If Chrome Industries is going to incorporate a protective-but-inconvenient material, we’d prefer to not also have to worry about water getting in through the zipper.

 It’s made getting slightly larger objects harder to get in my pack. Second, I absolutely hate the design of the drink/side pouches. It doesn’t fit my Nalgene bottle especially well, especially when I’ve first loaded the bag with my laptop and other gear.  That said, when I take it hiking this summer, I think it will "absorb" my rolled up inflatable mattress quite nicely, in which case it will end up being perfectly sized. But just for the pack alone, it was "sloshing around" inside of it quite a bit.  Which leads to minor issue #2, which is that this thing is awkward as heck to carry with a full pack inside of it. Slinging it over your shoulder is worthless: It will bang around your knees

 But I decide to earn the side of caution and because you know when you cooperate at the shop. So I decided buy something bigger and yeah, so this is just one of the four processes when you're deciding what size you should care for. You do keep that in mind because you don't have to buy one that fits your pack exactly. So it depends on your habits Of course, whether you intend to buy more or you want to travel like and keep everything as small as possible, if that's your priority, then you should buy something that fits your pack

 As you can see, it's fully zipped up now, right? And you can put these two zips together. Training one on dexterity here. and you can have a lock that goes through the loops so that they can access and you have smaller compartments as well. You can zip it up to close it

 The WORST part of the pack that i absolutely hated is the terrible shoulder strap. There is no way to position the strap to be comfortable. It cuts into your shoulder, the pack carries too low and bounces off of your leg as you walk, and it doesn't tighten enough to pull the bag anywhere near close to where even a regular school bag carries.  I would have loved this bag i think if it had another strap or cinched up onto my back a little higher

 I made the mistake of trying to carry this thing as it was intended through the airport, and I'll never do that again. Completely unwieldy. I usually keep it rolled up into it's own stuff sack and strapped to my pack until I get to the airport check in, and then take it out and put the pack in it.

So, this thing does what it's supposed to do. It adds a decent amount of protection from abrasion and the elements when your pack is being shuttled around to and from an airplane. I got the medium to use with my Osprey Exos 58, and Osprey Aether 70, and they both fit fairly well. The Exos leaves quite a bit of room at the top, but I usually stuff that with outerwear and boots

I have the Osprey Xenith 75 which is a 79 liter backpack. I originally bought the large air porter bag and it was HUGE. Width wise it was perfect but it had a ton of extra slack length wise. I then ordered the medium and it too was too big for my 79 liter pack

 I then ordered the small and it fit like a glove (with the daypack top attachment removed). The size ratings on these need to be adjusted, but very happy with the product. I went from Philadelphia to Austin, Austin to Las Vegas, Las Vegas to Jacksonville and Jacksonville back to Philadelphia and it held up without a hitch. I hope this helps so you don’t have to order all three to find the perfect fit like I had to

These bags are huge!

  Other minor design issue is that the one shoulder strap clips on to the with some pretty cheap-looking plastic snap clasp. For as much as this cost, why not put a durable metal clasp? (See pic) Or at least a more solid-seeming plastic one. I feel like the rmu press to open the clasp, which is sort of rigid, is eventually going to break off, so I have a feeling this thing's not going to last all that long. Plus, it has to hold the weight of the pack

  I'm impressed with the quality of the fabric. Believe it's ripstop. It seems very sturdy and thicker than expected - well sewn seams, fabric handles seam solid. All the zippers have nice rubberized pull tabs that are easy to grab and pull

 Zippers seem fine.  Here's my two complaints and wht I gave it four stars instead of five. First, there's a little sub pocket near the stuff pocket that seems to be for the single shoulder strap. Guessing to put it on the plane they don't want to loose straps to caught on the equipment
