 In the same place, every single time, I think we can actually see the exact point that that ball meets the yeah. It'S like right there, it's about 40 % and it locks up super Saul and it's reliable. That'S generally always been the case with the Sebenza Sivan. On the standard, carbonized lock phases, but on the other Chris Reeve models that I've handled they no matter how many times I flipped them open, they were just always exactly the same

 You can see that the hardware is the same all over the place. That'S perfect! That'S that's why I have this biased about hardware's, because knives late, it's like how it! How simple is this like Chris Reeve knives have been doing this forever and it's and everybody's like yeah, we love this and you gave us the tool and it's so easy. Just do that other knife manufacturers, other knife companies just do that, make the hardware the same size and provide the tool I've. Let me back, let me make sure that I'm correct same size, same size, same size, same size

 It may not be as corrosion resistant, but it's absolutely a stainless steel. It'S also a much tougher stainless steel. In fact, I think I always say this, and I say I think I'm right, I think s35vn is the toughest stainless steel, but I could be wrong about that in terms of toughness to corrosion resistance, the ratio and then it it has a good level of edge Retention, but it is much easier to sharpen than a lot of other steels in the same caliber, it's even easier to sharpen than s30v. On top of that, I bring this up all the time

  It's the Pivot - stupid.  Actually its a bit more - but you start with the biggest damn Pivot that you can fit in your knife design. From there - the tang of the knife that surrounds the pivot needs to have as much "meat" as possible - in thickness AND circumference. Next is your Stop Pin

 NOW, if we could only get Chris Reeve into grinding Convex Blades - you'd have the - what I would consider - the ultimate in a folding knife design.

 What else have we got? I guess I should throw a couple of standard knives in here just so that people who don't have a bunch of nicer stuff around. There it is compared to a RAT1, which I think has a very similar aesthetic, just simple and functional. And finally, the probably two of the most popular, well-known EDC folding knives.  It's tough. It's going to last forever. This is the kind of thing you easily can plan to hand down to your children. And so I think this is just a great forever option as an EDC or as a high-end sort of gentleman's carry choice

Chris Reeve Knives Sebenza 31 Review - YouTube

 Hey guys, how's it going? Kevin Cleary here with a knife video for you. Today we are taking

 a look at something pretty new and pretty cool. We've got the Sebenza 31 with black

 micarta inlay courtesy of Bradley. You probably already know, I think my first impressions

 or my comparison video between this and the Encosi is going to post first. I have spent

 a bit of time with this knife and really gone out of my way to try and get to know it, although

 I will say I haven't done as much as I would for some reviews, but this isn't my knife,

 I don't want to keep it too long. So, big thank you again to Bradley for letting me

 take a look at this and let's go ahead and get into it. As mentioned, this is obviously

 the black micarta inlay version of this particular knife and so is not going to be exactly the

 same as say the standard titanium version, but suffice to say I think we'll be able to

 get enough information here that you can hopefully make a decision on whichever particular option

 of this and there are quite a few options you are most interested in. Quick rundown

 on size, I think everyone's familiar with the size of a Sebenza, but in case you're

 not, 8 3 8 inches overall, 3 9 16 on the blade, 4 13 16 on the handle, 3 almost 4 inches of

 grip area and this particular one weighs in at 4.3 ounces. Now that's probably a little

 bit different than the plain Thai version without the overlays. Alright, some departures

 from the 21 here which we want to sort of quickly get to. Alright, a couple little things.

 The lock bar interface has now been changed from the hardened titanium to a ceramic ball

 that's in here that interfaces with the blade tang. That's what Chrisry has been using on

 a number of their other models for a while and it works quite well. The pocket clip is

 now angled so that it catches over here rather than sits directly on the lock bar. That's

 a little bit of a departure. The overlay is obviously different. It used to be two strips.

 Many of you will be familiar with that. Many of you have seen that and probably many of

 you actually have those. So again, that's a little bit of a change. And here at the

 lock bar, this space is just a teeny bit bigger and there's a little bit of a chamfer here,

 a little bit of a cutout to catch the thumb a little bit easier. There are a few more

 things that we could talk about in terms of changes, but I'll leave that for either when

 I happen to have a 21 in my possession or for those who have both models and can like

 take them apart and really get into some detail with that. So now that we've gotten that out

 of the way, let's get into the specifics of this particular knife beginning with the blade.

 So what we have here is S35 with a clip point, a very or fairly deep hollow grind. One notice,

 one point to note here is that the secondary bevel on Chrisry knives are going to be convex,

 meaning that instead of a regular V grind, they're going to have just a slight bow to

 them like that. That does make for a very stable, long lasting edge, but it can be a

 little hard to replicate in sharpening. So you'll have to, I think if I'm not mistaken,

 Rob, the apostle P has a video of how to do that as well as a few others. The way I tend

 to do it and the way others have done it is by using a pad, not quite, this is a little

 too hard, this leather pad, but something like a mouse pad or neoprene pad with sandpaper

 over it should get you close to being able to match up that bit of a convex grind or

 using some kind of wheel sharpener. Although I'd be very hesitant to use a powered sharpener

 on this. All right. What else do we need to say about the blades? We've got the hollow

 grind stonewash finish, very nice crown spine, the typical, you know, sort of well-known
