just turn the dial, push the button, and you have flame on your charcoal. It lights the charcoal faster and more thoroughly than the paper method does too, so you reduce your startup time by a good 5 minutes. If you grill as much as I do this adds up. I use a chimney and I can't seem to start a fire without dropping a hot coal on the wooden shelves. The grills are cast iron, not a big deal for me, but they said that fires over 400 degrees will burn off the seasoning. Prior to getting the Outlaw (with smoker box attachment) I used the Smokin' Pro. The two grills are identical in design, the Outlaw is just a few inches larger. These grills offer excellent features. I liked the price and look of this one, it looked more expensive than the tag. I read the reviews and saw all the complaints and the photos and decided to disregard them because I really wanted him to have this one. I liked the size of it and that it has a smoker and “counter” space for items. It arrived a few days early, the day after Father’s Day actually which was perfect

This is a great value for the money and we love how easy it is to light the charcoal. There's cool places to hang your grilling utensils and a roomy area to work on also.
