 It smells like your grandma's bathroom: so artificial and overwhelming, it almost takes your breath away. Why Cetaphil, why would you put such an strong artificial fragrance in your amazing face wash! Ugh. I'll finish this bottle and be forced to find a smell-less alternative if need be.

 I have loved Cetaphil products for years, and this facewash is included. It makes my oily skin feel clean but not dry, and it hasn't caused any breakouts. So why am I only giving this 3 stars?  THE FRAGRANCE. Oh my goodness gracious, it is WAY too strong for a face wash, especially one that is designed for all skin types

 I am pretty tough on my skin with the products I apply on a nightly basis, but I can imagine that people with sensitive skin might have a problem with the fake fragrance added into this product. That's a big no-no with skincare, a company like Cetaphil should know! They might make a fragrance-free version of this (holy crap do I hope so) but I got the smelly one. It smells like your grandma's bathroom: so artificial and overwhelming, it almost takes your breath away. Why Cetaphil, why would you put such an strong artificial fragrance in your amazing face wash! Ugh

So. much. SMELL.

 I also sometimes have to use Desonide (a steroid ointment .05%) around the eyes for these tiny trail breakouts all around the soft skin under my eyes?.

PM: Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, Altreno (a new Tretinoin at .05% that is supposed to be a better formula for less drying, using \~ 1 month with no change), lastly Aquaphor because #sluglife. I also sometimes have to use Desonide (a steroid ointment .05%) around the eyes for these tiny trail breakouts all around the soft skin under my eyes?

The cleanser is not too harsh for a 50 + face. I have dry skin and just use this for makeup removal at the end of the day. It works well and do not leave my skin dry and tight. I was introduced to this item by my college age son

 So I used the 2nd bottle. And I love it. I have used department store cleanser ever since puberty. I am so used to spending a lot more for the department store cleanser that I am so surprise that my face feel great with this product

I've used this product for at least 10 years and find it works great as my standard daily cleanser. The latest bottle has a different scent and I don't like it as much as the one I consider standard (all the previous batches I purchased had a nicer, fresher, lighter scent; herbal and slightly lavender. This one is generic in comparison, dull, a little 'muddy'. It seems to be the same formula otherwise and work fine

 You could use a little face washer if you felt like you needed to but you don't really, really have to and of course there you've got that bright hydrated skin ready for the next step.

 It glides over, it actually feels quite velvety on the skin, very little fragrance as well but as first step goes in that skincare regime, this is quite key. When you are done, you can wash it off easy to use in the shower if you prefer. You could use a little face washer if you felt like you needed to but you don't really, really have to and of course there you've got that bright hydrated skin ready for the next step.

 Okay, guys, so I just rinsed my face just to let you know, let you guys know, once you wash it nicely, you know, on the sink of your wash basin in your bathroom, it's going to create some foam, some lather as well, in my case, because I'm shooting this tutorial in my room. So I didn't like splash a lot of water because I didn't want the mess around. But yeah, in your case, once you utilize this with like nice quantity of water, lavish water, it will generate some foam as well. So here's the thing, I've just like rinsed my face like, I would say 10 seconds back

 I quite like the fact that it has lavender and mint, you know, kind of aroma into it. So myself being an aroma, therapy junkie, I quite like this fragrance. Also, the fragrance is very, very natural. It's not like that artificial kind of fragrance

Dermalogica's Special Cleansing Gel ( Review and Application Tutorial)

 Believe me, I've tried so many different cleansers and this one leaves my face feeling so clean but at the same time it doesn't strip my skin of its moisture. So it's honestly in my eyes the best of both worlds because it's super purifying but it doesn't strip the skin of moisture and it's very actually soothing to be honest with you and that's kind of how they promote this product and everything that they say about this product I think is spot on. It gently foams up when you use it so it is a little bit of a foaming cleanser but again it is soap free. Here it says it's lightweight and mild enough to use every day and I have and I will attest to that

 Hey guys welcome back to my channel my name is Lauren if you're new here I would love it if you guys would go ahead and subscribe I do videos and reviews of all kinds of different things and today I'm super excited because I'm going to talk all about one of my absolute favorite facial cleansers the Dermalogica special cleansing gel cleanser so if you know anything about me you know I'm kind of a facial cleanser snob and this is one I have the travel size here because I got the travel size to try it out I've been using it for about three weeks now and that's every single day which I love and I'll talk about that a little bit later but I have really really really been enjoying this cleanser now I have a handful of other cleansers that I'm going to review as well and share with you guys but just know there is going to be a detailed review I'm going to write it up and I'll put the link for that in the description so if you guys want to just jump right over to the review of the Dermalogica special cleansing gel you can do that if you don't want to watch this video that's totally fine just know that there's going to be a lot more details in that written review that I do more so than this video that I do today but I'll kind of give you a little overview of what it is how it works how I like it and we'll talk all about it today so let's go ahead and get started I originally picked this out as one of the cleansers that I wanted to try out and share possibly share with you guys if I liked it because let me tell you this Dermalogica special cleansing gel cleanser is everywhere like Sephora, Ulta even on their website like there's crazy reviews it's a bestseller honestly it's kind of in my eyes kind of like a staple it's a classic I remember gosh it was like probably eight years ago now I worked in a department store at one of the cosmetic counters and obviously working in that type of environment I got to try all different kinds of stuff this is one I'm so surprised but this is one I didn't try back then but I heard so much about all of the girls almost all the girls had used this and raved about it I don't know what has taken me so long to try it because I absolutely love it as well and how you use it so it is just a clear gel and I'll insert a clip of me actually using it for you guys it's a clear gel it's soap free it is super purifying and actually pretty calming so my skin is pretty normal but I do get breakouts every once in a while I do have some dry patches every once in a while in the summertime I'll get a little oily in my t-zone so my skin's kind of all over the place but if I had to pick one way of describing my skin it is definitely sensitive so when I get cleansers I am really cautious about not only fragrance but how like exfoliating it is how harsh it is on the skin a lot of cleansers I'm not able to use like every single day and this one is so gentle but what I will say it's so purifying so I a cleanser that when I'm done cleansing my face and drying my face off, my face feels like I can feel that it's cleaner than before. I am not super into oil cleansers that will stay on the skin.  Then my face started to feel unclean and extra oily, and started to break out. I chalked this up to a bad week or two at work, but really that hasn't affected me like this before. Tampered Product

Product exploded in the packaging; lost a good amount of product. If the bottle would have been full, then it is a good price. Unfortunately I only have about 2/3 of the actual face gel.  I would have returned it, but I did same-day shipping because I needed it ASAP

 However, I then noticed a raised sticker on the bottle which was the list of ingredients. I thought it odd that directions, uses, etc was printed on the bottle and the ingredients were printed on a raised sticker. I had to used a razor blade but I eventually got the sticker off. Lo and behold there were the actual ingredients made by Dermologica printed on the bottle and they did not match the ingredients that were on the raised sticker label
