Mods, apologies if this belongs in the simple questions thread. I thought it was something that a lot of people visiting the sub might be interested in.

Judging by the subject matter of this sub I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume most of you guys are fairly successful in your careers.

So do you guys feel an awful lot of pressure to keep up with your peers?

I work in a bank and of the senior level men I’m the only one without a watch. It gets mentioned jokingly every now and then, so it’s not just me who’s hyper aware of my naked wrist.

Initially I was planning on waiting until I was 30 to get a proper watch, but I work like crazy and with bonuses coming up soon I figured screw it. I mentioned that to the guys in the office and before I knew it they were swarming my desk telling me what to buy.

They’re suggesting these £15-20k Rolexes, one guy even mentioned Patek Philipe, telling me I MUST buy this and that, anything else and I may as well go with a plastic digital watch.

I was balking at the price because virtually all of the suggested watches were well over ten thousand pounds and I’m kinda worried about what my girlfriend and family would say if I blew half my bonus on something that’s basically useless.

I mentioned Breitling and it was met with “I guess they’re nice”, now I’m left wondering if I should even bother. I want to fit in but I’m 28, still haven’t bought a house (I rent), youngest senior by a few years whereas these guys have been making good money for ages, and I know my friends who haven’t been so fortunate in their careers will judge me harshly.

I thought this was a side of luxury watch buying that never gets mentioned in online articles. I can’t find anything on the sub either.

What do you guys think?

Am I making a fuss over nothing? Is this even a real problem? Has anyone else been in a similar situation and what did you do - I’m considering just waiting a year and buying an expensive watch but if it was just me I’d be happy with a nice Breitling that cost a third of that.

 I have a regular sized/normal wrist for a 5' 10" guy and it just barely fits. The functionality is as expected - works well with the limtied functions available and if you want a good looking/retro inexpensive watch that is light and durable you are in luck. I'm really glad I ordered it.

 After browsing Amazon for other Casio watches, I came across theG-Shock G100-BV Men's Black Resin Sport Watch . The reason why I replaced the F91W isn't because it isn't a good watch, instead, I replaced it because I wanted something a little nicer with a more rugged design.  The case is also thin and doesn't add much bulk to your arm. For me, the watch face was a good size proportionate to my wrist. It might have been a little small for my liking but it definitely didn't get in the way. Overall, I am happy with how the F91W fit on my wrist

 The band buckle is made of ordinary black plastic which I can see breaking in a year or two. While I can't vouch for the longevity of this watch, I can almost confidently say that that plastic buckle will be the first part to break. Other than that, the watch features nice easy-to-press buttons which stick out from the watch a millimeter or two. The buttons are very easy to press, which can be both a good thing and a bad thing as they might be pressed accidentally

The Town Watch

 I think you can change that setting but it's a nice blue color and it works great especially when it's super dark and you can set it so that it comes on when you raise your wrist which is a neat feature that Casio has. I turned that off because to save battery and such I felt like it was coming on when I didn't want it to but it really works great. So I'll come back to you with the lights on and finally, I've already said it a number of times, we'll close out this video for this review. Well there you have it

 It's got the triple sensor over here. Some things I don't like about this watch is the band. This is the second band that I've had for it. The first one that came with it ended up wearing out some of these joints here and they became brittle and broke eventually so I just bought another band

 Hey everybody, welcome to Jay City Reviews. Thanks for stopping by today. I feel like

 we have a special video. I'm excited because we're reviewing the very first watch that

 I purchased about five years ago now. I think even a little more than five years ago and

 it's the watch that got me started into watch collecting. It got me started in the watch

 community and just piqued my interest in getting to know more about watches. That watch is

 the Casio Pro Trek PRG 270 and this one is the Dash 1A version which is a Japanese model.

 This was the first watch that I bought over five years ago and I still have it. I've really

 worn it almost every day of those five years until I started purchasing other watches and

 added them to the rotation. This watch has been on my wrist for so long and through so

 many different circumstances. I want to share some of those today as we review this watch.
