 Word to the wise: If your eyes are a bit dodgy, especially for reading purposes, you might want to rethink digital watches.

Cool watch, but fails in one important aspect

 this is less likely to get snagged, caught up, etc. The time sync works well, but I am close to Ft Collins. Bought as a tough, no maintenance beater for edc. It is generally good for that purpose, but there are other options in that space

 The case size works well for me. I don't want a big obtrusive watch for edc, and IMO, the jumbos around today are a liability when engaged in MTB, kayakjng, hiking, yard work..

. Conclusion: I wanted to love this watch, but feel it is 'meh' overall. Some great features, but the fit and usability of some functions isn't optimal for me so 3 stars. YMMV Given the clicking sound and fit, I am on the fence about returning it

 The manual shows how to manually connect, so I did so. Come to find out, the mountains of NC are too much for the signal to reach me from Colorado. So, one of the two features that makes the watch cost twice as much as the simple $45 version, wasn't even working for me. I've decided to return it and look for a large case watch that fits by big ole' wrist

 The screen was easy to read and it felt like the perfect "wear all the time" watch.  What I didn't realize is that the smaller case would mean it wouldn't fit my wrist properly. Since the resin strap is so stiff and doesn't flex much around the lugs, the watch was squeezing the sides of my wrist and actually grinding into the bone of my wrist. I realized that I could sorta stand it if I wore it loosely, but it was so lose that it could rotate all the way around my wrist, sort of annoying

 The features it came with for the price were perfect. I liked the idea of having a smaller case watch since all my others are big. Big Dudes Beware

 I usually have it on the forth hole. Second, the band is not very comfortable to wear. I find it a bit stiff and it just doesn't conform to my wrist very well. I can live with it, but I'm going to try to replace it with another Casio band

 I'm very happy with the GW5000 band on this watch and had Casio put it on as stock, this watch would have gotten a 5 star rating from me.

 The functionality is great. Solar powered, Automatic time, stop watch, count down timer, multiple alarms and a second time zone - perfect.  The illumination actually works on this watch. Very easy to see in the dark as the entire face lights

  Update October 19 2015 Just received the GW5000 band. It is more rubbery, thinner and has more flex to it. In my opinion it is a bit more comfortable than the stock band that comes with this watch which has more of a hard plastic feel to it. The band I received was manufactured in Japan so I'm guessing it is more expensive to make

Almost the perfect everyday watch except for the band.

  I'm a day past the 30-day return policy or I would have returned it. Save yourself $40 and get the simple 5600 model; the 5610 is simply not worth it.

What prompted me to buy the watch was to get a simplistic, old school design with some modern touches of solar, auto light, and atomic time keeping.  After having the watch a month, I am satisfied with the old school part, but the modern touches, are really worthless. - I live in Oregon, the atomic clock has self-set a total of 4 times without me doing a manual set. - The light only stays on for 1

Get the 5600, the 5610 is a gimmick

 You can add a Bullbar to protect the crystal and give it a military look. You can even replace the bezel with a yellow bezel to get the rare DW-5600TB-1 look. See the pictures for some ideas.

 You can choose green, red, blue, or even black them out! You can replace the wrist band with a JaysandKays nylon wrist strap set of any color you like. I chose black wrist straps, or you can go with the rare "Madness" green color straps for the Toei Animation (DW-5000MD) Madness Edition look! You can add a compass or thermometer to the strap as well. You can add a Bullbar to protect the crystal and give it a military look. You can even replace the bezel with a yellow bezel to get the rare DW-5600TB-1 look

Great watch, Terrible packaging

 Kudos to Casio for sticking to its G-SHOCK philosophy in making watches that don’t break. This is one of the reason that I keep going back to Casio; they inspire consumer confidence and continuously excite with color design to suit customers taste.  This model GWM5610-1 has a visual appeal to me, it has a nice mix of color mix of red border, white casing text, purplish solar panel, blue and orange text. I like that the proportion of color is not too overwhelming and a backlight with a subtle greenish hue

  The minor bugbear was the watch came with a paper box, seriously it deserves a better packaging. Personally, I would have preferred to pay a little more for a decent metallic box.  While the GWM5610 may be small compared to my G-SHOCK Gravity Master GPW2000, it has its a big place in my heart. The G-SHOCK GWM5610 is truly a timeless design which tranverse the passage of time

Timeless legacy that will delight for many years to come

Been surfing with this daily for a little more than a month now...zero issues, it's totally waterproof

 I'm coming from wearing a Frogman, which I didn't take off my wrist except for getting Xrayed, for literally 5 years straight. THIS watch is lightweight, I can't believe how much heavier the frogman is!! It's also decently slim - after wearing a huge watch for 5 years I wanted something smaller. Not only can this watch fit inside my shirtsleeves, it naturally goes inside them while I'm wearing it - that can be a catch 22, it is more discreet than a big watch, but having to pull a sleeve back to read it isn't very convenient.  The time-zone adjustment is as simple as it gets for travel, very easy

Light, simple, waterproof, almost "perfect"

 This is the best value because it has atomic timekeeping and it is solar-powered. Also, the item that I received did not have the common issue with the Auto EL and it works perfectly. Thank you so much Kohl's!

The Town Watch

 I think you can change that setting but it's a nice blue color and it works great especially when it's super dark and you can set it so that it comes on when you raise your wrist which is a neat feature that Casio has. I turned that off because to save battery and such I felt like it was coming on when I didn't want it to but it really works great. So I'll come back to you with the lights on and finally, I've already said it a number of times, we'll close out this video for this review. Well there you have it

 It's got the triple sensor over here. Some things I don't like about this watch is the band. This is the second band that I've had for it. The first one that came with it ended up wearing out some of these joints here and they became brittle and broke eventually so I just bought another band

 we have a special video. I'm excited because we're reviewing the very first watch that

 I purchased about five years ago now. I think even a little more than five years ago and

 it's the watch that got me started into watch collecting. It got me started in the watch

 community and just piqued my interest in getting to know more about watches. That watch is

 the Casio Pro Trek PRG 270 and this one is the Dash 1A version which is a Japanese model.

 This was the first watch that I bought over five years ago and I still have it. I've really

 worn it almost every day of those five years until I started purchasing other watches and

 added them to the rotation. This watch has been on my wrist for so long and through so

 many different circumstances. I want to share some of those today as we review this watch.
