 Not a crazy amount It's enough and as I already said you don't have to load it up You just sort of go in and spring off the end of the lip and you get that pop right outside the insert pack Keep it to the small and medium line. Just like I said, you're gonna be fine when it comes to buttering This is where this board shines Obviously you got that rocker section with a slightly softer flex out the nose and the tail so you can just roll in To your nose press or your tail press on the ground and it's gonna stay locked in it doesn't fight you you want to swivel around Go for it. It's not trying to fight you. It's not trying to be hooky at all You can do just about any butter variation with it and that's no surprise Look at how Scotty rides when it comes to Jimmy same thing can be said it locks into a nose Press it locks into a tail press It still has a little bit of snap when you engage it so you can pop out the end of the feature And when you get sideways through that center section, even though it's a flat board It still hugs the feature perfectly just due to the flex in it you feel locked in it allows you to slide Slow speed jimmy medium speed jimmy high speed jimmy

 Hello snowboarders of the internet. I'm your host Averin LaFever and in this video we'll be reviewing the Scott Stevens Pro from Capita. This board features Capita's camber park v2 camber profile Which is flat to outside the inserts and then rocker to the tip and tail up kicks Basically, you're gonna get a little more stability from the flat section, but your pop is going to be initiated from that rocker section It's gonna be like a skate style pop It's also gonna give you a little bit of ease of entry in and out of turns And if you do decide to go in the powder, it's gonna give you a little bit more float This board is available in 151 153 155 and 157 I wrote this board at Copper Mountain on an overcast or mostly overcast day with little pockets of blue sky High winds there was a gnarly windshield. It was a little icy frozen chunder Just firm corduroy and I wrote it with my Rome black label bindings and my k2 thoraxes boots Since this is Scott Stevens Pro model, it's obviously a park flex with that set It comes in just below a middle of the road park flex, which makes it a little more loose and playful You got softer tips through that rocker section then it stiffens up at the insert pack Through the middle where it's flat with a lot of torsional flex at speed You're gonna get chatter in the nose and that is gonna slightly resonate back underfoot So you are gonna feel some of those micro vibrations and really run it out terrain The board does get knocked around a bit But if you keep your knees bent you will stay on top of it The stability on this board is predominantly from insert pack to insert pack and even then it's still not crazy stable It's enough for riding the park or a small little hill with the flat to rocker profile on this thing You don't have to load the board up which gives it a skate like pop So it's gonna activate right outside that back insert pack You're gonna roll back get your weight on that rocker and that's where it's gonna spring

 Don't expect a quick turn initiation Just expect it to be a fluid movement from toe to heel back and forth There are limitations on this board You're gonna realize that the second you try to drive it that you're probably gonna fold the tail if you over push it When you're trying to apex that carve it's one of those boards that steers more underfoot Just due to the camber profile and it's a little bit looser. It's still fluid and smooth But it's looser Short tight quick carves medium mellow carves are really a strong suit Yeah, you can rail a deep carve with it If you want to just understand that if you don't know that you can overpower it It's probably going to kick out on you So if you do understand that and you know those limitations you won't have a problem driving this board Who's this board for the jib focused park rider? It's been a few years since I rode this board and it feels like they slightly Stiffened it up and added a little bit more dampening to it Not a crazy amount not anything that makes it any less of a jib board or a freestyle focus deck just enough that it gives You a little more stability through the insert pack, but still retains its playfulness out in the tip in the tail It's a fun little jib board for tossing around playing around on schmedium features and just getting weird Comparable boards the Rome gangplank the k2 world peace the battalion wall-e fighting recommendations The Union Contact Pro the Burton Malavita the Rome vice This has been my review of the Capita Scott Stevens Pro. The 2022 Capita Scott Stevens Pro Snowboard Review

 It's got cork underfoot going out to the tips for dampening as well as a millimeter and a half all along the sidewall and your heel and toe edge. That's going to help with dampening and absorbing shocks as you're going over bumps or on landings where there's some higher impacts. And there's also some basalt stringers in the nose and tail that's going to add more pop and responsiveness to this guy. It is flexy in the tips

 Mad props to Scotty. This board also has a bunch of cork in it. It's got cork underfoot going out to the tips for dampening as well as a millimeter and a half all along the sidewall and your heel and toe edge.  I think the flat camber helps a lot on rails and this guy has been really comfortable so far on the rails we have here at Arapahoe Basin today. Spinning onto features and locking in just feels really natural it's a very comfortable board on jibs and I think the flex which I would say is about a medium soft flex around a 4 out of 10 also helps with the jibs making it easier to lock into presses and it also helps to have more torsional flex for spinning out of rails. And one other thing that stood out to me on this board is that there's almost like a grip tape type material on the top sheet. I think I gotta take the jacket off

 Gotta be a little bit careful. Overall I would recommend this snowboard to the freestyle focused rider who spends a lot of time in the park, likes to hit rails, maybe plays around on some jumps. And when you're going around exploring the rest of the mountain you're looking for natural features, hitting side hits, and just throwing a bit of a freestyle feel into your riding whatever you may be doing. If that sounds like you, you'd have a lot of fun on this snowboard

The Good Ride

 But flex, look at this thing man. This is stiff for a twin. It is I would say medium stiff, bordering on stiff. It doesn't feel super light and playful

 And the base, I just want to talk about this new powder drive base. I was really impressed. I used to get on spring break boards then compare them to other boards and sometimes I felt like the bases just weren't keeping up with some of the really high-end super fast bases out there. Like when I would compare them sometimes to like Jones powder boards and such, I was like whoa that's a faster base

 Now the way this turned in powder I was surprised because I really thought it would be pretty slow but it's very doable very manageable for my size 9 boots. I could turn this pretty quick I would trust this in medium trees not a real tight narrow tree line where you have to really weave in and out but I would trust it and kind of that medium width trees and medium width kind of line through trees I think that would do well. But powder okay in a time of all these directional boards that are sent to me to review I can't tell you how much fun it was to go out on a true twin that could float like this. To go out centered and duck and just be able to try to ride switch and powder it's been a long time since I've done that and to just be able to play around and spin and just have fun and just take a different approach to powder riding from all these surfy directional rides I couldn't believe it and this just floats incredibly well

 It is I would say medium stiff, bordering on stiff. It doesn't feel super light and playful. This feels kind of semi-aggressive but I like it. It's got lots of pop and I was surprised at how easy it buttered for the flex

Capita Spring Break Powder Twin 2021 Snowboard Review

 This is when the board is cambered between the feet, flat underneath and then rockers up early. That rocker is going to give you some great float in the powder with the aid of the really wide nose and tail. You're not going to be sinking anytime soon but also that cambered section means you're going to have the ultimate hold when you're getting low into the Euro cards or stability when you're riding at speed.
