 They gave it last year's Huck Knife Pro Flex, so that stiffens the board up overall. It still has that predictable middle of the road park flex, so you do have slightly softer tips, stiffer through the middle with a fair amount of torsional flex. It's just a little stiffer in those tips, which kind of changes the stability. When you're actually charging around, you don't get as much chatter, which doesn't come back on your foot, so you're getting less leg fatigue at the end of the day

 There was warmer temps, zero wind, you had chopped chunder, slush, perfect corduroy, great hero snow, and I rode it with my Roam, Black Label bindings, and my K2 Thraxis boots. The big thing to note with this board is that they changed the stiffness. They gave it last year's Huck Knife Pro Flex, so that stiffens the board up overall. It still has that predictable middle of the road park flex, so you do have slightly softer tips, stiffer through the middle with a fair amount of torsional flex

 But overall, it's not a bad board when you're in the right snow conditions. I think if you're riding straight sheet ice, you may want to look at something else. So who's this board for? The park rider that likes a little snap out of their deck. So one of the things I like about this board is that they took the Huck Knife Pro Flex and put it in the regular Huck Knife

I think you really couldn't differentiate too much between the Huck Knife and Huck Knife Pro last year, and now you really can. But by stiffening it up, it gives it a little bit more power, a little bit more snap

The 2023 Salomon Huck Knife Snowboard Review

Other than that they have the the same camber profile, sintered base and medium flex. I liked the Huck Knife the best out of all of them, the almost full camber profile gave it better edge hold, and a nicer pop in the park. I do prefer full camber though, so I am pretty biased towards boards like that. I rode it everywhere, it is harder work in powder, the profile on the Villain/Assassin has slightly more float, but not a huge difference

Looking to switch over from a 2017 Assassin and have narrowed it down to the Salomon Villain &amp; Huck Knife (I have a Salomon bias if you couldn’t tell). 

To anyone who’s rode both the Assassin and the Huck Knife, how much different is riding the Huck Knife? Can it handle All-mountain/freestyle terrain the same way the Assassin does? I know it’s more flexible but I hear from some it gets the job done but others say it doesn’t hold up as well. 

I do just about everything, from ripping blacks to tree runs to park to freestyle, so that’s why I’m leaning towards the Villain (as it’s basically a softer Assassin) but if anyone has any input to sway my decision towards the Huck Knife then let me know! Thanks in advance!

Anyone have experience with both the Salomon Assassin &amp; the Huck Knife?

 But you can butter on this board. You can get sideways. You can swivel around and do what you need to do. It's just got a lot of rebound to it just with the camber profile and the flex in there

 That's where you want to get your weight out over and really press into. Is it going to give you a deep butter? No, it's going to be a little bit more subdued and you're going to have a ton of snap out of it so prepare yourself for that fight. But you can butter on this board. You can get sideways

 All right, so you get your standard run-of-the-mill, middle-of-the-road park flex. Softer tips, stiffer midsection, moderate torsional flex so you can really twist this board when you absolutely need to. Now with that said, you do get some chatter out in the tip and the tail and it slightly resonates underfoot. It's a little more damp than the regular huck knife but you still feel it
