If you print lots of photos, whether it be for crafts, journaling, or a photo wall, you'll want something that won't ruin your memories with excessive banding and grain. For that, have a look at the Canon PIXMA TS3520. Naturally, as a budget inkjet, its photos don't look as good as ones printed with a professional photo printer, but it still prints nice-looking photos for its price. If you don't mind spending a bit more money for better quality, the Canon PIXMA TR4720 is a decent choice.

When printing on 4&quot; x 6&quot; photos, there's no banding anywhere, so you don't have to worry about any vertical lines running along your pictures. While there is a bit of noise in some areas, it isn't noticeable enough to make your photos look terrible. Some colors (like blues, browns, and blacks) don't look like their original, so neither look as deep as they should; however, it's fine for casual pictures. Photos take about one minute to print out, which is on the slower end but similar to other printers in this range.

Although the cartridges are relatively cheap to replace, the terrible page yields mean that you'll have to replace the cartridges after every hundred or so prints, especially if you print frequently. It means you'll very quickly spend the amount you paid for the printer in ink, but that's common with these budget printers. With that said, it's a good choice if you're looking for the best printer under $100 for casual photo printing.

 I am confident that when the 275/276 cartridges arrive I will have a printer that works as expected.

I liked it fine at first,, a cheap printer for my occasional documents needs. Problem started after the sample cartridges went dry. It won't accept new cartridges. Tried aftermarket first then tried Canon cartridges

Whoa, the problem is all Amazon sites marketing the 245/246 as a fitting cartridge and even though it looks and fits like the correct cartridge, you will have to figure out with no help from the marketing, that you need the 275/276 series for this printer

Problem is that 245/246 cartridges are being advertised as fitting this printer

But keep in mind that these and most other bulk-ink AIOs cost three to five times more than their cartridge-based counterparts, and they're good values only if you print several hundred or a thousand-plus pages and photos per month. The more you print, the better the bargain.

Since Canon doesn't publish page-yield estimates for this AIO's ink tanks, it's difficult to calculate accurate running costs. If, however, we rely on the estimates of the TS5320's predecessors and those of the next model down in the pecking order, the TS3320, it's relatively safe to assume that you'll spend about 7 cents per monochrome and 15 cents per color page. That's not too far from estimates for Brother's MFC-J497DW (6 cents black and 16.5 cents color) and Epson's five-ink XP-6100 (5 cents black and 15 to 20 cents color)

As a TS series Pixma, though, photos are the TS5320's specialty, and it printed our sample images quite well for an under-$100, four-ink AIO. Colors were accurate, bright, and well saturated, and detail was as good as I've come to expect from Canon imaging devices. Of course this printer can't match the accuracy and detail of its deluxe five- and six-ink siblings, but its photo output definitely surpasses drugstore quality.

8 by 12.5 inches (HWD) and weighs 13.8 pounds, which is similar to its predecessor and close in size to the TS3320, though the former weighs about five pounds more. It's also a close match for Epson's somewhat more robust Expression Premium XP-6100 Small-in-One and a little smaller and lighter than Brother's more business-oriented MFC-J497DW

since my system is somewhat outdated i couldn't open the software to connect this printer to my wifi. no problem, right? just follow manual directions, right.? wrong, that didn't work. SO i thought i could just plug it into my pc and use it the old fashioned way

first time disappointed with cannon

Toner cartridges for colour laser printers are extremely expensive while ink bottles for tank printers like the Epson Ecotank ET-5800 are extremely inexpensive.

Ink cartridges are so expensive especially when printing a lot of web pages and documents at home in both colors and B&amp;W with previous HP OfficeJet Pros (8600 and 8028e). Also, copying, scanning, and faxing through old fashion phone lines. Do toners last longer? Are laser ones any better even though they cost more?

Time to for an one in one color laser printer instead of inkjet?

 Usually the catch with premium photo printers like this is the crippling cost of the ink cartridges, but with ink tanks, its actually very economical to run. Aside from the high initial cost, it&rsquo;s hard to find fault with the Epson EcoTank ET-8550.

The large 10.9cm colour touchscreen tilts up for easy access and below this you can clearly see the six ink reservoirs. There&rsquo;s something reassuring about seeing how much ink you have in the tank rather than waiting for that dreaded message from your printer telling you to buy more cartridges.&nbsp;

The grey ink that most other printers lack gives the Epson EcoTank ET-8550 a real advantage when it comes to rendering black and white photos. The improved greyscale can make your arty prints look professional, especially when blown up onto A3 paper.

 The paper trays are sensitive to new paper being loaded and the screen prompts you to select the appropriate type and size of media. The Epson Smart Panel app gives you even more control from your smartphone and adds functionality such as templates for greetings cards.

6-ink EcoTank is ideal for A3 photos

 Adding the ink was almost foolproof thanks to the new bottle tips. I did not use gloves and there was no ink stains on me or the desk. Epson really improved this process since their earlier eco-tank printers!  Prnting: regular (text) printing is quick and clear. The pigment black ink is clear and easy to read

All the bell's and whistles for home printing...but expect to pay for these options

.. I tried for a variety of shots, wanting to see the colors this printer put out, as well as the detail -- I love being able to see the storm on the horizon in some shots for instance.

 (When putting the paper into the printer, I also go through the prompts on the touchscreen to tell it what kind of paper I've loaded. Telling it in both places has resulted in EXCELLENT print quality thus far.)  At this point, I just need my rear paper feeder to stop jamming/crumpling paper, and this may well be the best printer I've gotten in a LONG time.  I tried to make a short video showing some of the pictures I was able to print off of this Epson, the pictures have been taken over the past 10-15 years, so some of them are off older digital cameras, some of them were taken with 10x zoom

Pages come out of this printer feeling like they have a lot of ink on them, and I have found after several days some of the 8.5 x 11 borderless printed images have started curling at the edges, I think that is because of the large amount of ink put on the paper.
