Canon PIXMA G7020 vs HP OfficeJet 250

A step up from the Editors' Choice-winning Pixma G6020 MegaTank, Canon's Pixma G7020 Wireless MegaTank All-in-One ($329.99) is a cartridge-less (bulk-ink) multifunction inkjet designed for printing and copying a few hundred pages per month in a home or small office. Like most lower-end bulk-ink models (Including Canon's MegaTank, Epson's EcoTank, and HP's Smart Tank Plus brands), this one prints well, if a little slowly. And it churns out both black and color pages for under 1 cent each, making it a terrific value for those with moderate print and copy needs (say, between 300 and 500 pages a month)

These match the running costs of the OfficeJet 200. The printer uses two cartridges: one for black ink and one tricolor (yellow/cyan/magenta). The high-yield black cartridge is rated at up to 600 pages, while the high-yield color cartridge is rated at up to 415 pages, considerably in excess of the highest-capacity cartridges offered by Canon and Epson. You shouldn't have to change cartridges all that frequently, which is a real strength in a mobile printer

I run an ebay business, and I love my LP 2844 thermal printer. Its old as hell, but I bought it used for like $40, I can get free labels from UPS and it's printed several thousand labels for me while needing no maintenance or extra costs such as ink, toner, or paper. Now compare that to my roommates HP OfficeJet 8020, which constantly seems like it has something wrong with it and needs costly new ink, you see why I'm wondering if there are full size thermal printers. If there aren't or they aren't a realistic solution, what is my cheapest option as far as initial costs and upkeep? I'm moving into a new place by myself soon so I need something full size

I did receive the replacement printer. It took slightly longer, but it did arrive, so here is the update review. I was able to set the replacement printer up as with the first one and connect to my laptop and phone just fine. This time I had no problems printing with it

I wish companies would be responsible and quit producing garbage that winds up in the land fill with minimal use. This will weigh HEAVILY in my mind before I EVER purchase another product by Canon. The thought of not replacing ink looks attractive, but I never would have had to. This product wasn't even made to last through a set of cartridges maybe two

It is now replaced by OfficeJet Pro 7740 I believe?. It's cartridge based so if you're not going to use it often, purchase a couple of extra heads as it will dry out.

The Canon PIXMA G6020 is a very printer and it is replacing a cartridge-based HP printer for which I have not been able to buy ink cartridges for several months now. The amount of ink that is in the “Supertank” ink reservoirs is impressive and I have read that it contains about the same amount of ink as 84 ink cartridges! Even if it is a small fraction of that, the economics of buying a big bottle of ink for $12 vs paying twice that much or more for a much lower capacity ink cartridge is obvious. In fact, just two complete ink cartridge replacements on my previous HP printer would pay for this new Canon printer and all the ink that came with it (one of each color and three bottles of black)! I am so glad to get out of the paying big $ for ink cartridges, assuming you can even get them. Print quality seems fine, but it is a bit slower than the HP I am replacing

Is there a good printer that can be out of the way, print Letter size, scan A4 size, and accept files from my android?

Scanning works with simple scan as installed in bullseye (I expected a major fight here). All of this wirelessly.. which is awesome

The simple way is to set your paper size to the Letter - 8-1/2 x 11 size at the top of that short list. Then you can work with any size actual paper that will fit within the margins. For my project I used 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 bifold card stock but told the printer it was 8-1/2 x 11. The printer ran it on through without a hitch

We have used HP printers and All-in-ones since the early 1990s in our offices, so I am well familiar with the brand, and the quality. This device simply did not live up to what I expected, and I returned it to Amazon because of that. It's too heavy, too bulky to justify carrying around for average "adequate" quality. On the one trip I took it on, I left it in the trunk, and instead stopped by a WalMart along the way and bought a "disposable" $35 printer that I just left at the hotel for housekeeping/bell services to have when I was done, and had a family member ship me my trusty old ScanSnap S1100 scanner - and I got better results
