Canon EOS Rebel T8i vs Nikon D7000

6x crop sensor plus a 2x crop for 4k video. I recorded to a Ninja V (mainly to be able to break the 30 minute mark). Footage looks good for the price on an entry level camera. Not a huge dynamic range, but it looks good, especially after being able to dial things in with the tools on the Ninja V

I have seen plenty of samples online of beautiful video work done with this body. If you plan to use it for video, plan to use a tripod and/or to spend some serious money on accessories to help handle this body smoothly. DSLRs are virtually impossible to hold out from your body (far enough to watch the LCD live view display) steady for any length of time. Overall I am extremely pleased and amazed at the high end features for the price point

Always fuzzy. This is my issue, not the camera's I’m sure. Or so I thought but upon reading many Canon lens reviews I find a common thread among some is the auto focus either doesn’t work or stops working. The camera body is surprisingly light although for my smaller women’s hands I find it a little awkward, especially the shutter button

Same backfocusing problem. This time, adjusting the AF fine tuning by a factor of -4 for all of my lenses results in sharp focus, but using AF fine tuning isn't an ideal solution, since it causes the camera to not focus properly at infinity or at minimum focusing distance. Depending on the degree of AF tuning required, this could then require the user to manually adjust the focus ring after the AF has "reached its limit" (the limit which has changed due to the use of AF fine tuning). You could really even look at a t7, same camera really, big drawback is no flip screen but it’s less than half the price, otherwise just get the t8i or sl3 you will be able to take fantastic photos with any of them, modern camera sensors are so good and that is a decent kit lens, you can add an ef-s 55-250 is stm lens as well if you want a nice telephoto zoom to complete the kit. You will be more than happy with the quality of images you can produce, the only limitation will really be your technique,.

The flip screen is definitely a bigggg plus! Also it comes with a lot of easy setting for beginners. I don’t use them often but they do come in handy here and there. I prefer shooting in RAW and in Manual. But even if you are still learning the auto settings are pretty dope! I also love how I can’t transfer photos without removing my SD card! The only reason why this didn’t get 5 stars is because it came with the wrong battery charger! I received a LC-E12 charger instead of an LC-E17

Used d7000 or d90. Opens up lens options (body side focus motors). Great detail decent mp (more isnt always better)

I do like that it is pretty lightweight and for a female it just means she might use it more because it's easier to carry. Now I do like that on the T8i getting lenses are pretty easy and don't really need many accessories for it. Another concern of mine is night time photography. I'm not sure if it's the lenses that really matters but taking pictures of the night sky and star exposures is something that stands out as well, and in that regards I don't know which is better

Body Build: Theres no hiding the fact that this camera is heavy. But the fact that it's weather sealed and has a solid feel to it, makes up for it. The rubber grip feels really nice and it has a nice little "cavern" in it for your finger tips to tuck in to give you a nice hold on to the camera. Also the dual commander dials makes manual shooting more natural and more fun to do

The editing software from Canon is also great. The first pic is with a 24mm prime lens and the second and third pic is a 50mm prime. All were edited in Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4. The fourth is the 18-55 lens that comes with the camera and not edited (It's the first day I went out to use the camera)

I was happy with the first few test shots but then I took it on the trip I bought it for and the battery just ran out almost immediately. I thought it was nothing at first and charged it again but it keeps happening. I hate returning things but this is a big problem.

As I said, I don't use video and don't know If this is normal, but i guess this feature is maybe not the best of the camera. About the battery, I'm used to buying two of them just in case but apparently I won't need it with this camera. I was on a trip and took pictures for three days, I came back and took more sample pictures and I only charged once before the trip. It really lasts pretty long
