Canon EOS Rebel T8i vs Fujifilm X-T2

6x crop sensor plus a 2x crop for 4k video. I recorded to a Ninja V (mainly to be able to break the 30 minute mark). Footage looks good for the price on an entry level camera. Not a huge dynamic range, but it looks good, especially after being able to dial things in with the tools on the Ninja V

Although most reviewers do not comment about it is video qualities I must say it is does make impressive videos. It is outstanding for landscape photography and wildlife photography. I do not use it take photographs of people or events so I cannot comment on that. In terms of weather situations, it did very well in hot Indian weather and can handle a drizzle without a problem

Always fuzzy. This is my issue, not the camera's I’m sure. Or so I thought but upon reading many Canon lens reviews I find a common thread among some is the auto focus either doesn’t work or stops working. The camera body is surprisingly light although for my smaller women’s hands I find it a little awkward, especially the shutter button

2) Superior focus system "Superior to what?" you might be asking. While I don't know if the XT-2's focus system beats out other mirrorless cameras (it might, I just haven't done the research), I can say with certainty that it's light years ahead of any DSLR I've shot with. You could really even look at a t7, same camera really, big drawback is no flip screen but it’s less than half the price, otherwise just get the t8i or sl3 you will be able to take fantastic photos with any of them, modern camera sensors are so good and that is a decent kit lens, you can add an ef-s 55-250 is stm lens as well if you want a nice telephoto zoom to complete the kit. You will be more than happy with the quality of images you can produce, the only limitation will really be your technique,.

The X-T2 is one of the best APS-C format digital cameras for shooting at the high sensitivities you'll use in dim lighting.

The flip screen is definitely a bigggg plus! Also it comes with a lot of easy setting for beginners. I don’t use them often but they do come in handy here and there. I prefer shooting in RAW and in Manual. But even if you are still learning the auto settings are pretty dope! I also love how I can’t transfer photos without removing my SD card! The only reason why this didn’t get 5 stars is because it came with the wrong battery charger! I received a LC-E12 charger instead of an LC-E17

Then there are the physical controls that photo nerds love. Fujifilm has altered the locking mechanism for the shutter speed and ISO dials, making it way simpler to adjust those settings on the fly. You just press once to unlock, and again to lock in your current selection to prevent it from accidentally being changed during shooting. Fujifilm again gives users six function buttons, plus dedicated autoexposure and autofocus buttons

Partner it with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM for portrait work and you're on to a winner.

With Fuji’s OIS, I have dropped the shutter to 200. I plan to start shooting at slower shutter speeds until I find the sweet spot where my hand shake does not affect the image. Overall, I would buy this camera again. Actually, at this point, I’d buy the X-T3 for a little bit more money

I do like that it is pretty lightweight and for a female it just means she might use it more because it's easier to carry. Now I do like that on the T8i getting lenses are pretty easy and don't really need many accessories for it. Another concern of mine is night time photography. I'm not sure if it's the lenses that really matters but taking pictures of the night sky and star exposures is something that stands out as well, and in that regards I don't know which is better

So after a lot of research I opted for smaller mirrorless setup which can allow me to travel lighter, and the XT2 was the perfect choice. I purchase the camera all together with the 16mm f1.4, 23mm f1.4 and 56mm f1

The editing software from Canon is also great. The first pic is with a 24mm prime lens and the second and third pic is a 50mm prime. All were edited in Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4. The fourth is the 18-55 lens that comes with the camera and not edited (It's the first day I went out to use the camera)

I think the better deal is to buy an X-T2 body plus the 35mm f/2 XF WR lens. You end up with a very portable powerhouse of a camera that is all I have needed to get outstanding variety and quality of images on family outings. That's my review and random thoughts as someone who has a D750 and lots of lenses for work, has used an LX100 for personal family shots for the past two years, and now owns an X-T2 with the 35mm f/2 lens. I was happy with the first few test shots but then I took it on the trip I bought it for and the battery just ran out almost immediately. I thought it was nothing at first and charged it again but it keeps happening. I hate returning things but this is a big problem.

The one con, and its a norm thru all mirrorless experience is the battery. If you are shooting all day, without flipping the camera off during pictures, you will drain battery very quickly. Remember in mirrorless, it's adjusting exposure and composition of picture everywhere the focus goes. I normally just turn camera off when not shooting, and turn it right on when I need to
