 I think that it's very, very good for both sands, that focusing issue with stills. I wouldn't use autofocus when it comes to shooting video, because it's just not fast and not there. Yet the high ISO capability is tremendous. It'S really good

 Of course, the puck is going to be out of focus because I am focused right here on the goalie. That'S very really good, shot. Really nice and sharp the colors look fine to me. Everything looks good for 4000 ISO 1-800

Canon 6D Hands-On Field Test

 I don't do video at all. My concern is the 6D doesn't cost much more than the 70D did when I got it, so I'm worried it's not much better? But I'm also not sure if the 5D is worth twice the price..

Now I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out which body to upgrade to - the majority of the suggestions I've gotten from "professional camera people" I've talked to say neither of these would be an upgrade from the 70D, and I'm struggling to figure out why. Beginner camera?

 This is generally advantageous when it comes to performance at very high ISO settings. I tested the JPG output at default settings through the camera's top expanded ISO setting of 102400 and found the results to be more than impressive. The camera is able to keep noise below 1.5 percent through ISO 12800, and does so while still capturing a rich amount of detail

 Because of this, the EOS 6D earns our Editors' Choice award for full-frame D-SLRs. I contemplated each body in turn (and even maybe switching to Fuji for a hot moment) and eventually sprang for the R6 (The R5 is certainly overkill for hobbyist use, IMHO, and I never seriously considered it). I justified it mostly because I earned some extra money from a freelance job, and because I want to shoot 4k video for my stock side-job. And, let's face it, I have a self-image of "that guy" who always has top quality gear. But I have to admit I had a bit of guilt about spending so much

 And of course the 4k video (dunno how that compares to the other RF bodies, tho). And I prefer the control layout of the R6 over the others.

Definitely just a hobbyist. I’ve done a few weddings, but most of my shooting is purely for fun (hikes, traveling, portraits of my kids, the dogs, all that random stuff). Point is, I don’t make money off of my photography. At least not now.

I’m currently trying to decide between the RP, R6, and R5. I feel like the R6 is going to be my best bet. The R5 feels like overkill and is more than I’d like to spend. The RP feels too “old” considering I only upgrade bodies about once a decade (so I tend to stay as current as possible when I buy and not go with older models). Plus, I’ve heard that the autofocus is much better on the R6/R5. 

Current prices for the body make the R5 $3900, the R6 $2500, and the RP $1000.

So I guess my question is (based on what I’ve written) why SHOULDN’T I go with the R6? Or would the RP be “enough”?

Help with upgrade

I sold my 70D and bought a 6Dii and 24-105 f/4 just like you have. This was a long decision and looked at several options. I settled with the 6D due to cost mainly. Mirrorless range was generally too expensive for me

I can say I have experienced a marked improvement in image clarity & focus accuracy but compared to some 5D images it does fall short, though still beats the 70D in my opinion.

My first ever camera

 It's such a fun, sharp combo and with the pixel density of your t6 you'll be able to crop surprisingly far into an image. It's also an incredible lens for portraits and general photography so you'll be set on a few fronts there.

For serious reach in birding you'll have to spend a lot more money. The 75 - 300 has decent reach and if you have it stopped down to f8 and are shooting in sunlight you should be able to get pretty good close-ups of birds. The Canon 100 - 400 mm L lens is a very popular birding lens that will be much sharper than what you have and can be had for under $1,000 used, but it's not going to give you much more reach. If you're looking to zoom in much closer, you're going to be in 500 to 600 mm territory which gets very expensive very quickly

I am a beginner photographer, I got a EOS Rebel t6 for my birthday last year and I think it's a good beginning, but I want something a little better in quality. I am planning on taking wildlife photos, such as close ups of birds from far away in trees, and macro photos of bugs. I would like to know what would be the best canon for taking close ups from really far, and the ones with the best quality for the close ups? Also, I was hoping for a price range of under $1000, so, does anyone have any recommendations? it can be for a lens or a camera.

I am planning on taking wildlife photos, such as close ups of birds from far away in trees, and macro photos of bugs. I would like to know what would be the best canon for taking close ups from really far, and the ones with the best quality for the close ups? Also, I was hoping for a price range of under $1000, so, does anyone have any recommendations? it can be for a lens or a camera.
